Although a bit of an excessive comment on the original authors post, Actually he/she is correct. I used to travel extensively to some pretty impoverished countries, Coot De Ivoire, Nigeria, Venezuela, Columbia and sad to to say, in some of the most remote of towns I would see Bills gear, especially T-Shirts proclaiming we were super Bowl champions.
If I went to a Chiefs forums and took every opportunity to gloat about Bruce Smith knocking out Joe Montana in the 1994 AFC Championship game I would be correct, but it would still be rude. Everybody knows about the unused NFL merch going to Africa. It was already a worn out stand up bit 25 years ago. -

Makes sense to me. Lots of people in third world countries grew up wearing Bills championship gear.
Don’t you have your own cesspool forum to post on?- 1

I don’t get how Miami can be spending this much money on QB and 2 WRs without being in cap hell
I think they’ve lost a few big ticket FAs recently, like Wilkins, Robert Hunt, Van Ginkel, and Xavien Howard.I guess this is one way to spend that money…

Am I crazy to think this list is just a false flag operation by the league to create debate and chatter. I’ve never seen it explained exactly how they formulate the list, I’ve only seen a leaked sheet every year and it looks like they ask the players who’s the top 20 or 25.
How do they come up with 100 players ? I’m guessing the same 15 to 20 players are on everybody’s list.
I don’t know, something just seems fishy.
They walk around locker rooms starting halfway through the season and randomly hand out the sheet to any player that will fill it out. They list their top 20 players in the league.Pretty obvious that players are just putting down their teammates and personal friends, because there is no way Dion Dawkins should be on anybody’s top-20 list.
Lamar Jackson over Mahomes/Allen could just be that they got more Ravens players to fill out the poll. It is not a scientific process.

NFL players are as good at making top-100 lists as they are at managing their personal finances.

Allen is a great player and we can make a case that he’s better than Mahomes. It just doesn’t mean anything until he accomplishes the things Mahomes has.
Allen should be on this list but he isn’t.
Active QBs with a 1 seed, conference championship win, or MVP.
MahomesJackson
Prescott
Burrow
Hurts
Purdy
Goff
Rodgers
Garapolo
Tannehill
Flacco
I’m not even making a claim about who is better. I’m just disputing the fact that Mahomes outplayed Allen in their playoff match last season. QBs don’t play against each other, they play against the other team’s defense. The defense Allen played was dominant and the defense Mahomes played was a bad joke. You can’t even compare their performances because their circumstances were apples and oranges. -

We can blame McDermott for his defense and Beane for his personnel decisions, but Allen won’t be considered a top 5 player in league circles until the Bills do more than what they’ve done.
He’s been ranked about the same every season.
2/5 playoffs Allen is blameless. Mahomes outplayed Allen in both games you mentioned. I also would like Allen to run the clock vs KC last year at the end.
Allen had to face one of the hardest defenses in the league last season (especially pass defense). Mahomes had to play against a defense with literal dudes off the street. It isn’t even a comparison. And still Allen basically matched him score for score and it came down to a missed FG.If Allen got to play the Bills defense last playoffs he probably would have had a perfect game (Mahomes basically did because the defense was just that bad).

First 12 or 13 would be QBs. Having a middle of the road QB is no good at all.
Even after 12 or 13 there would still be guys like Trevor Lawrence, Goff, Kyler Murray, Cousins, Tua. Then the "high potential" QBs like Caleb Williams, Anthony Richardson, Jayden Daniels, etc. QB is just too important to take a pass rusher first. There is too much of a drop off between a Goff and a Sam Darnold to risk it.- 3

The number of people online who think this list is some sort of objective truth is too high. A player is handed a ballot in the locker room to write down 20 names after Thanksgiving during the season. Only a subset of NFL players are polled. I don't believe each team or position group get the same number of players polled. Just whoever the guys handing out the ballots can get to fill it out.
Each ballot probably has 10 players from their own team on it, and then 10 players that they are most friendly with. Dawkins at the bottom of the list probably only got votes from Bills players because there is no way a player from another team that isn't his personal friend would rank him as a top 20 player in the NFL./rant

I'll do 5
1. Mahomes
2. Allen
3. Burrow
4. Stroud
5. Jackson
I think the first 20 picks or so in an NFL redraft would be entirely quarterbacks.- 1

Yeah. If you think about it most of his turnover heavy games last year happened to be on Prime Time starting with his worst game of the year against the Jets. Sets the narrative for the season.
It's 100% voted on by players. I don't think many even watch football games outside of their own prep for each week. It's fully a popularity contest, and Allen seems to struggle to win those. Putting on my conspiracy hat, I think players in the league hold Allen's tweets from when he was a teenager against him. I also think he's known as one of the biggest trash talkers in the league. So, down the popularity rankings he goes.
Like another poster said, if there were a NFL-wide redraft, Mahomes would go #1 and Allen would go #2.- 1

You'd have to feel a little concerned about this, right?
Chiefs will come up with ways to get him in motion so he doesn't get jammed at the line. Kind of like Hill in Miami.
Still though...a high pick if he just ends up being a burner and not a well rounded WR. He seems like he has a high chance of becoming another Andy Isabella.- 1

Props to AJ for coming in during the playoff game last year. He didn’t play great, but it was a lot to ask.
Hope he gets his RV vacation to Key West.

It’s more of guys on there doing training camp reports. They are making it sound like this guy is a borderline Davis replacement. Which to me is insane but I guess we will see. I have imagined all year it will be 0/1/10 out there as the 3 main WRs but im starting to fear that Hollins is going to play alot.
I'm kind of wondering if we will be running a lot more this season. I know McDermott loves a "ball control" offense. If that's the case maybe a good blocking WR will make sense.
I'm more of a fan of letting Allen air it out personally, and only falling back to the run if it isn't working.- 1

If you listen to what guys are saying on WGR, don’t be surprised if this guy is borderline starting.
Your first mistake was listening to what guys are saying on WGR, lol.- 1

It’s possible that Coleman won’t be able to get great separation in the NFL, but if his hands are elite, he’ll make a great living on jump balls and the scramble drill. NFL DBs are smaller than ever.

I just don’t think I could be a Brown’s fan.
If I were a lifelong Browns fan, I would probably take a break for 5 years or so until Watson is gone and most of the front office responsible for bringing him in has turned over.- 1

Everyone is all over Hollins this off-season. All that extra stuff is cool but it will fall on deaf ears eventually if you aren’t any good. I hope he ends up being a productive player or else the extra stuff won’t matter.
Hollins was brought in because he is an excellent blocker for an WR and plays well on special teams. He will probably make the roster, but won’t be putting up big volume stats as a receiver. -

Keep him at his current salary and pay him under the table...
I mean the Patriots basically did that with Brady, giving him special business deals. If you aren't cheating, then you aren't trying (the Patriot's refrain).- 1

So when does Allen redo his deal, lol.

I feel bad for the defense in training camp. They have to go against Josh Allen. Iron sharpens iron, or something like that...

I predict Allen at #11
I think the turnovers take him out of the top ten. This isn’t disrespect I love Josh. Just how I think he’ll end up.
I think this is voted on by the players, and they seem to not like Allen for some reason. Maybe it's all the trash talk. -

Luckily we won't have any more interceptions due to Gabe Davis turning the wrong way in the end zone.
