Are we bringing back Jordan Phillips, or what? When he was healthy the defense played a lot better imo. Same goes for Shaq Lawson.
Or are we hoping the youth can produce this year?
If I had to value pass blocking or run blocking more, I go pass blocking every time. We have to keep Allen upright and not running for his life every play. Can Ike and Bates handle the other guard position? Can we upgrade RT?
They need to get this guy involved in the offense, or cutting him would have been the right move. We can’t afford the luxury of a high cap special teams player. If he can produce as a receiving/third down back, then it is a good deal.
I don’t think he’s going anywhere. I think he is just messing with us. Cowboys only have a better chance than the Bills to make a SB because they play in the weak NFC if that is his ultimate goal. Bills are the better team.
If we spend our cap in FA and trades for the offense, then I would be okay with drafting defense. No matter how you slice it, we need a legit Saffold replacement and WR2. I don’t really care where they come from.
Gotta agree. Whatever keeps him engaged at work and still actively involved in the Bills is good. I’d rather this than streaming on Twitch until Thanksgiving when he’s ready to return.
Nobody is giving us anything very valuable for Oliver at his cap hit. He’s been too inconsistent.
I think the question with him, is do people think it’s worth it to ship him out for a late pick to save the cap room.
The same reason some high profile positions in companies are given the option to “resign” rather than be publicly fired. It lets them save face, but the organization still sever ties. It also shows future candidates for the position they will be treated with respect. You are supposed to read between the lines.
I don’t think there are any more edge rushers coming to help this year. Basically hope the line is good enough to get us into the playoffs (it probably is), and hope Miller is one of those genetic freaks that can come back from an ACL and not miss a beat for the run at the end of the year.
Look at Daniel Jones this year and compare him to 2015 Tyrod Taylor (his first year starting with the Bills). They have almost identical stats (Taylor has 2 less games played so slightly less volume stats). Taylor even had a higher passing rating and QBR!
In fact if you look at the 3 years Taylor played for the Bills, each season sort of looks like a Daniel Jones season.
Did Tyrod Taylor secure a huge extension when he was done here? No! Because that would have been dumb!
Not to mention a bunch of Allen’s interceptions were Davis targets. Idk if it was David’ fault, but those guys were not on the same page all year.
A #2 WR who can get separation and catch consistently should produce like a #1 in this offense. Considering how many targets they get and how good Allen is.
