Jordan Phillips back with Bills 1 year deal
DapperCam replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nothing wrong with that at all. Great pass rusher when he’s healthy. -
Taylor Rapp Signing with Bills
DapperCam replied to hellofellowbillsfans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sounds like a Siran Neal replacement to me. But one that can actually play DB when called upon. -
If life were a simulation that could be repeated, JP Losman would be a successful NFL QB in at least 50% of the simulations.

Maybe they are slightly better. But the Bills got blown out and didn’t even show up. Based on roster talent, games vs the Bengals should be a toss up. Saffold said similar things (team was emotionally spent and didn’t have anything left in the tank). Maybe it is an excuse, but it can still be true.

Hope he succeeds, seems like a cool guy. I think playing in a dome will be better for him.

This guy is really bad when he has to play significant snaps. It was his complete whiff on a speed rusher when he was filling in at RT that got Allen’s UCL injured. I think this signing is an indication of how bad offensive line depth is across the entire league. Every team has scrubs like this playing backup. Some teams don’t even have 5 starter quality players.

I hope they sign a vet RT to compete with Spencer Brown. If they draft a first round RT, that signals they are pretty much giving up on Brown.

When Knox is out, watching Tommy Sweeney try to actually play TE makes me sad.

What would you trade for Jerry Jeudy?
DapperCam replied to RocCityRoller's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills would have to add a third or maybe even their second (which is practically a third) I would think. Jeudy has one more year of contract control. Both players have performed similarly (okay, but not up to their draft status). -
Might not be such a bad thing (if he can actually get you 3 when you need 1 yard)

I’ll miss McKenzie. He was a fun player and had some fun plays. But he also wasn’t consistent enough, and I don’t think the coaching staff really liked or trusted him anyway. McKenzie and Davis both got promotions last year to bigger roles in the offense, and I would say both pretty much failed. Now McKenzie is gone, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Bills went WR in the first round or traded for someone like Jeudy to bump Davis down the depth chart. I’m not impressed by Davis’ volume stats. He got 25% of his stats on 3 catches vs the Steelers, in a game we would have won if he wasn’t playing anyway.

OL depth in this league is trash. Guys like Cody Ford and Bobby Hart keep getting contracts. I know they are depth, but still…

Singletary—inarguably above average statistically: discuss
DapperCam replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s always hard to tell with our RBs, because our run blocking has been pretty poor his entire tenure with the Bills, but he also faces light boxes all the time. I think he is a slightly above average back in balance, short area quickness and vision. But he has no top end speed and he doesn’t have the power to run a LBer over (or even a DB really) for a first down. He also seems to fumble a lot and drop passes (at least to my eyes). I would rather we give Cook a chance to carry the load and bring in a bruiser that will get 1 yard no matter what. Even if he had to drag three guys. -
If he is truly back to form, Hamlin was a fine backup/depth safety. He played better than Jaquan Johnson, Cam Lewis and Marlowe for sure. I don’t think he was really consistent enough to be a starter, but we have All Pro Po’ and Hyde back anyway.

Damar Hamlin with the SB sealing INT, like a fairytale.

Beane still looking to add big bodied RB to roster
DapperCam replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jones is just goofing around in my opinion. Pumping up the tires of his buddy. These guys do that all the time. -

I think he wants to convert 3rd and 1 without getting Allen killed. -
Competition isn’t a bad thing. May the best backup QB at camp win. Loser gets to be on the PS.
-
He’s okay for a backup. They can’t all be pro bowlers.
-
Backup QB in the middle-late rounds of the draft. A high floor, low ceiling type guy. You basically hope he can be a game manager and not turn the ball over if Allen goes down.

Getting Poyer back on an affordable deal would be great, if his pride would allow it. When he is healthy he is an impact player. We could still draft a safety, but that would allow us to go with more of a project to learn in a backup role. I do kind of wonder if the team is all-in on Benford as starting S next year though…
