  1. Sean Payton missing the playoffs with Drew Brees was a massive failure. Tomlin missing the playoffs in 2018 was a massive failure. Some of those other years had just “good” QB performances. If you have a QB putting up a top-5 performance in the league for their position in a given year, you should make the playoffs or it is a coaching failure IMO. Maybe that was less true in the past, but with the way the rules are now I think it is true. Allen is on pace for a top 5 finish at his position. Maybe top 1 depending on how you weigh TDs vs turnovers.
  2. I went through the simulator and got: 1. KC (14-3) 2. JAX (13-4) 3. BAL (12-5) 4. MIA (12-5) 5. CLE (11-6) 6. HOU (10-7) 7. PITT (10-7) Outside looking in...BUF (10-7), DEN (9-8), IND (9-8) I had Miami the last week of the season being win-and-in, and we lost (terribly Billsy of them).
  3. One reason it is hard to evaluate McDermott and just point to the playoffs as good enough is that he’s had a top 3 QB in the league the past 3 seasons. If you have a top 3 QB in the league that is getting All Pro votes, then it would be a massive failure to miss the playoffs.
  4. Don’t let them get to 3rd/4th and short.
  5. Two things I would be curious about: - What is the tackle for loss or no gain rate for shotgun runs vs under center. My impression is that under center runs have lower ceiling and higher floor (less likely to result in a negative play). - What is the play action success rate out of shotgun vs under center. If play action is a lot more successful under center, then it is worth it to run the marginally less effective under center running plays.
  6. The losses are all Allen’s fault. It’s his responsibility to make sure there aren’t 12 men on the field for special teams. And it is definitely his job to not allow a 90 second Mac Jones game winning TD drive.
  7. Mediocre Hurts is #1 in odds right now. Buddy is going to tush push his way to MVP.
  8. Let’s hope Josh Allen does his best Sam Howell impersonation.
  9. If the Bills can win this week, I think there is a good chance that they come out of the bye in a 4 or 5-way tie between all of the wild card teams at 7-5. Broncos, Bengals, Bills, Colts, Steelers, Jags, Dolphins and Browns all have feasible paths to 7-5 without big upsets required (Jets over Miami, Bengals over Jags, Bills over Eagles, Rams over Browns being the biggest upsets to get those teams to 7-5). Crowded field this year.
  10. Yep, hard to imagine the Steelers offense getting worse.
  11. Yea, that wasn’t exactly an easy catch. He’s running full speed and has to half lay out for it. A nice throw for sure, but a low percentage play. Everything has to go perfectly for a completion there.
  12. For the Ravens? Sure!
  13. It’s obviously Allen’s fault because he throws too hard. Mahomes throws easy to catch balls, like that missile on 4th down.
  14. He did throw an awful pick in the endzone. As bad as any Allen has thrown this season.
  15. KC wide receivers can make the easy catches, but tough catches down the field they are struggling hard.
  16. Is 2 steps for roughing the passer new? I’ve never heard that before. The ref guy on the broadcast said “technically 2 steps” like it’s something they don’t enforce.
  17. Lol, wut. He didn’t land on him. It wasn’t late. He didn’t make helmet contact. What is the call exactly?
  18. Oh boy, that should have been a pick
  19. That offensive lineman stand up move is so lame.
  20. KC offense consists of running plays and 3 yard passes.
  21. Pick 6 here would be nice
  22. Why even watch the games, it’s so tedious
  23. I love flags every play
  24. The JESTS beat us! 😳
  25. Glad Mahomes talked him into it, lol
