Lamar Jackson is way lighter than Allen and not nearly as good at running in the red zone. He just got stuffed from the 1 yard line this past week, where Allen definitely would have scored. There is a reason the Ravens run with RBs down there. I don’t get the “vultured TD” argument.

If the Jets could move the ball at all on offense this could have been an interesting game.

I wanted the Browns to lose for another path to the playoffs, but watching the Jets lose is also pretty sweet.

I pretty much disagree completely. Also almost all of the “arm punts” this year have given his receiver a chance and they have come up with none of them. One the DB yanked the ball right out of Diggs’ hands. I see WR on other teams make athletic catches down the field every week and ours can’t even do it once.

Cut Miller some slack? More like they should just cut Miller.

Cam Lewis has been getting decent playing time. Doubt it will be him.

I'm hoping for scenario #3 along with a Cinci win/Chiefs loss and Miami loss. Then the Bills can be playing for the #2 seed week 18 with the playoffs clinched, and the Kansas City Swift's will have to win week 18 or possibly get knocked out altogether.

I think there are basically 3 scenarios: Bills win the division and get the #2 seed. Allen will get MVP. Dolphins win the last 2 games, and win the division and #1 seed. Tua will get MVP. All other scenarios, Allen deserves it based on stats but is a wild card. CMC doesn't quite have the stats for a skill player. Purdy can't shake the system QB label. Lamar wins by default and is the weakest winner since that kicker won in the 80s.

I don’t think Tyreek can win because he is an unsavory character. Regardless of his on-field performance, I think enough sportswriters won’t vote for him for that reason. I also doubt the NFL wants him to win for the same reasons.

I think/hope voters will sober up after the season ends and realize Lamar has had a totally pedestrian season. Not bad, but not MVP level at all. The betting odds changing and week-to-week flipping of favorites seems to be mostly for generating clicks on articles and driving revenue to DraftKings.

NE and NYJ both have bottom 3 offenses in the entire league. Denver is middle of the pack/bottom 3rd, and the Chargers with Easton Stick are also bottom 3rd. So I’m not really impressed with the defense’s performances in those games. They either had average performances, or bad performances (NE game especially).

Hill and CMC are having similar seasons to other skill players that didn’t win MVP. Like Kupp for a recent example. Neither is close to an AP or Tomlinson type season. Lamar Jackson has 16 less TDs than Allen and a worse TD/turnover ratio. His counting stats are middle of the road. I’m having a hard time remembering a weaker MVP if he wins. The fact that he has the best odds just shows how much this is a QB award now. If Allen finishes 2-0 with good games (maybe just one more turnover and 6-8 TDs), and the Bills win the division and #2 seed he will win it. In my opinion even if the Bills win out and get the wild card he should still get it, but that isn’t how it works I guess.

Either you believe it should go to the player with the best stats, or the player that is “most valuable” to their team’s performance (vs a league average player in their position). Jackson satisfies neither of those, so the only reason he would win is he’s the QB on the #1 seed team. It would be the weakest MVP in a very long time.

Jackson’s TD drives were 8 yards and 44 yards. The majority of the yards on the “longer” drive was a 39 yard run after catch dump off to a RB. He was completely unremarkable, and this MVP talk makes me feel like I’m taking crazy pills.
