  1. It definitely wasn't the only reason - but it played a key part.
  2. Shame they didn't turn up like every other defense against the Chiefs this season. All but one kept them to a score in regulation which would have seen the Bills win with 29 on Sunday. And that one was the Panthers. I understand what you're saying about situation football but I'm not going to accept the defense was good enough throughout the game. It wasn't and it cost us.
  3. That's what I was thinking. Are we taking at risk of taking him for granted as he was clearly the Bills best player on the night?
  4. The league and CBS were happy as soon as the Chiefs beat the Texans. Whether it was the Ravens or the Bills at Arrowhead, it was going to rate well. Sorry, but no way would Texans at Bills have pulled in that many viewers.
  5. Everyone’s making something of 4th and 1 but it wasn’t the only call. That punt return with two holds and a block in the back - nothing. Elam getting called on a face mask but the Chiefs do the same to Josh and Cook - nothing. The constant short spotting - I’ve never heard any commentator, let alone someone as experienced as Nantz, call a first down and have to take it back as much as he did Sunday. The Worthy catch - just give it to ‘em. Hamlin taunting when it was Kelce. When even Chiefs fans are saying it’s too much…
  6. Perhaps it says something that one guy not mentioned so far, as far as I can tell, is… Josh Allen.
  7. There is just the dread that the journey is over and the Bills are at the plateau. A very high one but a plateau all the same.
  8. I think Beane is more interested in those at the top of the draft, and relies more on scouting for the lower picks. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it as the top picks seem so hit and miss yet those lower down the draft have a better overall success rate.
  9. Not really. Though it did come out that Josh said he wanted Coleman; found a link to CBS. Saying that, it didn't specify when he felt the Bills should draft him. Nor did it say whether the Bills gave him two or three names and asked him to pick from them. Future drafts have to be on scouting above all else now. There's a reason why the lower round picks have more impact than higher, and that's because he Bills are picking more on scouting reports than the front office have vested interest and entrenched opinions.
  10. IF you're right I do think they need to trust their scouting ahead of Josh now. Kincaid and Coleman are looking like busts - being a franchise, possible HoF, QB does not necessarily mean he's someone who can make personnel decisions. Though, in fairness, I doubt whether Josh would make any calls on defense and that's where the Bills issues really lie. I do believe Josh is the only one keeping McDermott in place right now. If he went to Pegula and said "fire or I'll ask for a trade" then he'd be gone. But that's the same with most franchise QBs. Taylor, for example, is still in place due to Burrow.
  11. Regarding Josh having problems identifying pressure and adjusting pressure... what's Mahomes weakness? Because, going off the regular season and the Divisional game against the Texans, it seems like the Chiefs offense can be exposed. And yet, come play off time against the Bills, they can just run up any score they need.
  12. Beane mucked up again. Whilst the Chiefs were ahead of the game by choosing Taylor Swift for one of their players, he had to pick up the pieces with Hailee Steinfeld. Can never get it right.
  13. Sorry but they can do in key situations. Sunday was close because of Josh. Not because of McD's defense, which managed to allow the Chiefs to score more points that in any other game this season.
  14. Josh executed despite making an error. Kincaid didn't. There's the difference. In comparison how many players and positions came through for Mahomes? Their receivers, their special teams, their defense at the end, their coaching? It was only because of Josh that the Bills were in the game to start with. It certainly had very little to do with the receivers (Hollins maybe aside), defense, special teams or coaching on the Bills side.
  15. The issue isn't getting Josh in 2018. The Bills lucked out with that; can you imagine how much worse it would be if they chose Rosen from that spot? McBeane would probably be gone for a start. The problem was trading with the Chiefs to give them Mahomes. If he'd gone to the NFC things could be very different.
  16. Depends who replaced him. If it's Josh, Lamar, Burrow or Daniels, with Reid's play calling, it's still a dangerous one. I'm not denying Mahomes isn't a great. Just there isn't a vast difference between him and Josh. Unfortunately the biggest deficit Josh has as a person over Mahomes is his nerves. Sometimes they can take over and, being so reliant on him on offense, it can hurt the Bills badly.
  17. Worthy torched the defense yesterday. If we stretch to receivers also including tight ends - Kelce? Though the Bills seem to play him well for some reason. Perhaps that leads to others being able to separate.
  18. So it's quite difficult to say either way whether Mahomes is vastly better than Josh. Mahomes has the benefit of an O Line (albeit so did the Bills... until yesterday), receivers, coaching and a defense to keep the Chiefs in games if the offense isn't clicking - see the regular season.
  19. I try not to go down conspiracy theories, but the refs were really favoring the Chiefs yesterday and, in a three point game that's key. Twice the Chiefs were in the neutral zone (one of the two point conversions and *that* 4th down) but no infraction called. The constant spotting the ball short, which cost the Bills severely in the end, though hated the sneak call which put it in the officials hands. But Kincaid seemed to have the first before that. The Worthy 'catch' though, of course, a flag had been thrown anyway so the Chiefs would have got something either way Hamlin being called for taunting when it was led by Kelce Why did the flag suddenly disappear after Kincaid dropped the ball? The punt return with two holds and a block in the back? No, that's fine, carry on. The facemask call on Elam. Did the Bills have one controversial call favour them? The Bills had issues with play calls and executions throughout the evening, there is no denying that. But in a close game one of these decisions would have an impact. How many do we have here. Eight, nine, ten? All favoring the Chiefs.
  20. I think Josh perhaps needs to see a sports psychologist to try and calm him down in big games and the Bills need to strengthen the roster so everything isn't on him. It felt like they'd managed that with the development of Cook, so why did they abandon that and make it seem like Superman Josh was required early yesterday? It was so bizarre to see, even taking into account the Bills have been slow out of the gate for a while now.
  21. I absolutely disagree and I think that's part of the problem. He was so wound up on the first drive yesterday that's why he made the errors. He wasn't locked in but it wasn't because he didn't care. If anything, he cared too much and let his emotions take over.
  22. Oh yeah, that's true. And if it feels like the Chiefs scraped through every game in the regular season to get this far. They scraped through yesterday's game too.
  23. Plus, we want to give Beane's three firsts? He's hardly great with top of the draft. The Bills would be better off with a bunch of picks from round four.
  24. True. Like Hail Mary's ever work against the Bills...
