  1. This was in the mock drafts - pretty sure the media were relatively clueless about this otherwise surely it’d have been front and centre.
  2. The victim alleges he took her to the room where the other guys were and, I believe, joined in.
  3. From memory, Araiza was the third or fourth punter in the draft due to his downsides (lack of experience with holding and hang time) so he went where he was expected to go, in punter terms.
  4. The thing is the Bills had an easy out - choose Haack based on his experience and cut Araiza. There may have been some blowback but, if this came out as it has, it would suddenly be more accepted. They ran an investigation and decided to keep him on. Big decision.
  5. In the eyes of the law, at this point an alleged rape took place. If they press charges, then they do believe it took place and, probably more importantly, they feel they have enough evidence for a conviction. Officially if some or all are found guilty, then a rape did take place; if all are found not guilty then it didn’t.
  6. Apologies, you’re right, beyond reasonable doubt.
  7. Dare I say it but the Steelers reputation didn’t seem to be overly harmed long term despite the presence of Roethlisberger, who was instead affectionately called Big Ben. I’m not saying that’s right for a moment and I seriously hope Beane and co have good grounds for sticking by Araiza, otherwise their feet should be held to the metaphorical fire. But will it have that much of an impact?
  8. If that is the case then surely there would be room for Araiza to be cut on those grounds, rather than line up against the Panthers tonight?
  9. I understand what you mean - an outcome in court is always on the basis of probability off the back of the evidence even, in criminal cases, it should be beyond all doubt. But guilty people have no doubt walked free ad innocent people have definitely spent time behind bars. Or even executed.
  10. An alleged victim of Araiza’s. He has not been found guilty of anything to date.
  11. Because that’s all we can go on. Otherwise we would be under mob rule where people with pitchforks who is guilty and innocent with perhaps very little evidence to prove it.
  12. Be better than the Browns or Commanders - by axing someone because of the position in the team as much as what he has allegedly done.
  13. According to Tim Graham, the NFL and franchises did not about it pre-draft, which obviously goes against what the defence attorney is saying.
  14. Rape convictions are at a historical low, in the U.K. at least. I think most people leave it up to the legal system to decide whether someone is innocent or guilty.
  15. And yet Beane didn’t take the easy route out which I kind of respect him for - as long as his judgement is proved correct. He’s put a lot in the investigation undertaken by the Bills.
  16. Rookie but exceptionally promising QB who is basically the franchise’s future but, like Araiza, the exempt list is not an available route?
  17. But a MVP Quarterback would be worth the risk?
  18. Makes me think we’re planning to go into the season with him as punter so want to get the “first game since…” out of the way.
  19. He must have done, unless he thought it’d be settled out of court or dismissed like Miller.
  20. Though do we have explicit evidence that he knew she was a child? She says she told him he was 17; defence witnesses state she told many people present that she was 18.
  21. Then that shows everything that is wrong in the NFL.
  22. So the decision shouldn’t be based on innocent or guilt but his role in the team? If this was Josh, for example, he should be given more support by the franchise?
  23. Nothing had happened with the civil case for over a month? I thought the alleged victim only launched it yesterday, hence the press attention?
  24. Maybe I should say a punter should be treated no different to any other position on the team.
