  1. Flicking a ball at the opposition is a massive no no. Punching them? Yeah, that's ok.
  2. To be honest, those third place play off games can be a drag at the best of times - especially for the loser who has had a good competition overall but then has two defeats on the bounce to round it off. Plus the liklihood of injuries in the NFL is far more likely than in football. What happens if we lose Josh or Aaron Rodgers obtains an injury in what is a meaningless end of season game?
  3. Josh has got a higher ceiling that Watson but perhaps a lower floor.
  4. Listening to the clip itself he basically says Watson is the fourth best QB in the league after Mahomes, Wilson and Rodgers and anyone else would trade. He gives a long reason why the Chargers would forgo Herbert. But then the Twitter posts highlight the Allen comparison - because they know it will get clicks and reactions.
  5. I think there’s an argument that you’re only as good as you’re last game, whether that’s fair or not. If you look at the Bucs forum they’re no doubt grateful for what Brady has done for them this year but worried by the fact he threw three picks in the NFCCG which could have easily cost them. The gap between Mahomes and Josh in the AFCCG was a chasm and probably not even predicted by those who have doubts about the latter. Yes, the rest of the team played their part in creating the gap but Josh didn’t help himself. I freely admit I’m a glass half empty kind of guy - I love having Josh as our Quarterback and if you cut him he’d bleed Buffalo. But I am concerned that he could turn into a Wentz or a Goff based on how he can freeze under pressure, or this season was an outlier and he will regress rather than progress. Should we hold off on a deal for another year and, if he repeats the success, we know we have the real deal on our hands? On the flip side, if he develops in the same way as he did between years one and two, and two and three, then we’ll have a cap nightmare on our hands. He has more than earned a new contract with his development but I can appreciate why some may have doubts - some with far more credit in the bank than the likes of Skip Bayless.
  6. Just watching the consoloation video back on the Josh Allen thread and noticed he had the moustache during the AFCCG (which I missed at time).
  7. Interestingly Packers fans seem delighted at this news.
  8. How would they benefit though, unless they somehow convince Watson not to go on strike? As it is they can get a lot out of the trade to allow Caserio and Culley to start building the team they want.
  9. The link is the Patriots tie in at Houston now; they may feel they'll be able to get something out of Jimmy G, though fitness has to be a question mark at the moment. But it sounds like Caserio is going to try and fight to keep Watson there - no idea how. Edit: 'like' not 'liek'
  10. Yes, IMO Darnold would appear to be a better Quarterback if he was with the Chiefs and I doubt Mahomes would look quite so good if he was with the Jets.
  11. The debate over Josh v Watson makes me return to the question posted earlier in the thread - if a miracle happened and the opportunity was there would you straight swap Watson for Josh? If Watson joins AFCE he joins AFCE. There’s no point bellyaching about it and we can’t do anything about it. Admittedly it would be annoying as it feels like we held the upper hand in the conference and suddenly there’d be another excellent Quarterback in our midsts but that’s what can happen in the NFL.
  12. Surely the only reason not to have Allen sign a new contract is if there’s a fear he’ll go the same way as Wentz?
  13. Almost felt like he lost faith in defense and offense; it became damage limitation rather than taking the game to the Chiefs.
  14. The game is a bit of a blur now - did Josh get hit during the previous possession?
  15. The defat is acceptable, the manner of it not. It was a worrying shambles and I do fear what it means for us moving forward as we seem miles off the Chiefs. On the other hand... the Saints overturned the Bucs twice across the main season, one a blowout on their home patch. Come the play offs it was a different affair. That’s all I can hang on to at the moment.
  16. We need to just make the Super Bowl - we can hardly be fussy about who joins us from the NFC.
  17. Or, in the Packers case, the Bucs. 😀 I do think Josh had nerves yesterday and why shouldn't he? As already alluded to earlier in the thread, look what happened to Brady and Rodgers yesterday - two Quarterbacks with far more experience than Josh at the play offs. One threw three picks, the other failed miserably to take advantage and threw two of his own. If he shows signs of this if/when we next make the play offs then maybe something deeper needs to be considered but my question is was anyone trying to help him yesterday? The offense was horrific and the coaching dire - we've expected Josh to pull us through time and time again and eventually that was never going to be enough. At this stage my fear for next season isn't Josh but other parts of the team.
  18. So they kept the Chiefs offence off the field for longer yet they managed to gain more yardage and that’s without Mahomes for a quarter and a bit?
  19. It gives me confidence that you think there will be a rivalry despite yesterday but maybe that’s because everything is feeling slightly raw at the moment. ☺️
  20. As long as Josh continues his development and doesn’t regress. For every Brady and Mahomes there’s a Goff and Wentz.
  21. Thanks for not gloating. I’m hoping you’re right but the gap between the two teams stood out a mile last night which is a bit of a concern. I was ready for a defeat but not necessarily the comprehensive way it came about.
  22. It was about 2.30 in the morning here but wasn’t the interception to Brown, who got both hands to it but deflected rather than caught it?
  23. I guess, as someone who thinks Josh could become a future MVP/Hall of Famer, the age thing grates. Yes, he is 24 but at his age Mahomes was winning a Super Bowl.
  24. He through too hard/high on a couple of occasions but that’s all I can think of. The sacks were worrying but he was trying to make plays out of nothing at that point. He improved on completions this season; hopefully he’ll improve on decision making in this offseason.
