  1. And actually it was the run from the Seahawks (week 8 ) to the Lions (week 15) which propelled Josh's case. Two of the games from the last four weeks - Pats, and to a lesser extent, the Jets - actually harmed his case if anything. And he only took one snap at Foxborough.
  2. Ravens fans shouldn't be confident because Jackson tends to fade in the play offs. But he's got the talent so this year could be different.
  3. I'd have the conventional thinking would be Ravens-Chiefs in the AFC but perhaps I'm naturally pessimistic.
  4. That's where I am but I'm resigned to it now. All hail Lamar. Josh is just lucky to be mentioned in the same breath as him.
  5. Chances of the Texans and Steelers both winning? Not high, I imagine.
  6. Josh has got first team Pro Bowl so it's 1-1 in terms of awards between that and All Pro.
  7. I think this is where I am. Lamar has had an incredible year. So has Josh. If the latter had one in last year, then no issue with Lamar this time around. But they need to stop changing the criteria to suit their agenda. Edit: Reading the above, perhaps even Dak last year and Lamar this would have been fair enough, going off this year's apparent criteria.
  8. I know I said it earlier tonight but that Patriots game will cost Josh. He wasn't even bad, just average for him. He was better against the Jets, but not to Rams/Lions level. He didn't need to be. As Lamar was building up a head of steam to try and win the division, Josh was treading water. It's a shame a couple of drops and a penalty took away from some spectacular plays in his last two games as well.
  9. They didn't have to draft Ward at one - they could have let QB needy teams offer them a lot for it. I wonder if the Titans will draft Ward?
  10. I think it's less Josh not getting MVP this year and more when will he ever get it? If Lamar gets it, it seems like the MVP voters revel in changing the parameters just to keep him away from it right now.
  11. It's probably because I haven't see Kelce-Swift's face on screen recently. If and when he pops up again...
  12. I can see the logic. I just can't see the MVP voters wanting to give Josh any credit whatsoever.
  13. This may be blasphemous but, right now, if the worst happens and it's a Ravens-Chiefs Championship game I'm cheering for the Chiefs. I'll take the three-peat over the Ravens winning one. I think I'd take any team winning the Super Bowl over the Ravens.
  14. From nearly 100 less snaps, IIRC. Averaging them out, Josh was on track to match Lamar, had he taken the same number.
  15. Pity that wasn't the case last year. I said at the time the New England game really hurt him. People didn't really seem to believe it.
  16. The worrying moment when Nick Wright makes more sense than most pundits.
  17. I don't think he'll be angling to leave whatever happens this season, or even next. There will come a time if the rings don't come though - especially if no Super Bowl win is forthcoming. I think the same can be said of Burrow and Jackson. I agree McDermott won't be fired yet, whatever happens in the post season. Whether it is time to move on is up to personal debate. Some think a change might work, others are concerned it won't, which is fair.
  18. So will each season keep running the same path? Get to the play offs, lose to a good team. Rinse and repeat. At want point does having a unicorn at QB put pressure on McDermott to pick up the big prize? Or does the unicorn decide he wants a change of scenery because it's not going to happen in Buffalo.
  19. I worked out the math earlier in the week. On average he was 0.03 yards per snap behind Lamar, and level per snap on total touchdowns. So look at Lamar's stats and, if Josh had continued at the same level, he would have been around those figures.
  20. I think, if Josh does win MVP, then the last two years prove that stats don’t blindly fit football or the MVP vote. Lamar didn’t have the best underline stars in 2023 and Josh doesn’t have the best in 2024.
  21. Sorry if this has been posted but I’ve just been reminded of something - week one screwed over both the Pats and the Bengals. If the result was reversed, the Pats would have the one seed and the Bengals would be in the play offs.
  22. The post you quoted doesn’t refer to the quality of the receiving group but the time to throw and average separation. Ravens receivers are far more open than Bills receivers, no matter their individual quality, and this lives up to the eye test as well.
  23. Would it be quicker to list who the Jets haven't asked to interview?
  24. Lamar being -10000 last year just shows how everyone - Josh included - had doubts over them. In reality, he had an average at best year last year, especially when you compare it to what he's done for the Ravens this time around.
  25. There have been changes. Mental health, rightly, is seen more importantly than it used to be. The old approach used to be "It's your job, get on with it". The old approach probably wouldn't have seen him given any time away from the facility, or the very least it would have been dictated by the Bills - you have two days then you must be back. Now it's person first, job second in situations like this.
