  1. There goes Barkley. Not sure how happy the Eagles D will be!
  2. Yeah, didn't quite understand that after taking a gamble further down the field.
  3. I mean more the timings. Maybe expect them to give a four hour gap between each kick off, or something, in case the first game is delayed. Have to admit, I can't remember previous timings. I'd checked out of last year by this point!
  4. They got it, but I thought it was stupidly risky.
  5. That was a great catch and recovery on 3rd Down - could have easily been a stop there.
  6. Is this is Brady's last game in the broadcast booth, unless he relinquishes his role with the Raiders?
  7. It strikes me as a bit daft that Bills-Chiefs is at 6.30pm Eastern when the NFC game isn't starting until 3pm. There's not much room for manouver if the former goes to OT. I guess Bills-Chiefs could get pushed back in that scenario?
  8. Could it be as simple as some people who don't follow the NFL closely have put money on based on the Bills beating the Ravens last week, not understanding the vote closed before the play offs began?
  9. During the week I watch games back, not just the Bills, and, for me, Taylor's lucky not to be most penalized and the Chiefs fortunate not to be top of both holding lists. It seems to be every play - as though they know the refs cannot call it every time as it will kill the game, so just take their chance. Additionally, it doesn't answer the question of when these penalties are given. The opposition appear to get penalties in key situations in close games. Then tick tack make up penalties against the Chiefs once the game is gone to look 'fair'. Is that right? Maybe, maybe not. Perhaps if they weren't in for a three-peat the finger wouldn't be pointed. If the Bills win the next two Super Bowls (please please please) the focus would probably turn on them.
  10. It's stats against the eye test. Chiefs seem to be given penalties where it affects them less, and the opposition given them when it has greater affect, at key times in the game. Plus, as said, opponents get pulled up on something which the Chiefs have been getting away with for most of the game - the best examples being holding, PI and false starts.
  11. This is my biggest concern as well. That and it feels like Jawaan Taylor NEVER gets called for a false start even though he practically tap dances at the line. So Mahomes goes down easily at times; most QBs do. Exhibit A: Allen, Josh.
  12. My biggest dread - it's a tie at the end of the fourth. In overtime the Bills win the toss, take the ball, and score a TD. The Chiefs reply in kind. On the next possession, the Bills fail to score any points, with the Chiefs taking it down the field for a FG. Using the regulation season rules for overtime, the Bills would win. Instead... And it's been changed because of what happened to the Bills before. Positivity? The Bills can do this. They match up better with the Chiefs than they do the Ravens, and victory was theirs. Protect the ball, be original on offense, maybe having to lean on Josh more than they have recently, and stout in defense. Let's go!
  13. Cue the Bills putting up no more than 14 tomorrow, with Josh neutured, and subsequent criticism of Brady as a consequence.
  14. If they're current odds, the Divisional round is going to have an impact. I'd argue, if any odds should be looked it, it's those around the time the vote closed.
  15. Before this year, I would agree. Now I would say Josh, as he has controlled the turnovers (please don't let this be a jinx). He has the bigger explosive plays where needed, albeit Mahomes hasn't had to dip into that bag as often.
  16. It's so, if the Bills win, they can say "Told you so" and, if they lose, it's "Josh should have done better!" 😉
  17. He should have been criticised more than he has been for this year's performance. It was a single game example of Josh's regular 2023 season - balled out but with costly turnovers. He was shredded for that but most fingers are being pointed solely at Andrews. I'm sure not all of Josh's turnovers in 2023 were his fault (alone) but very different story there. I agree, Lamar got a lot of unfair criticism at the start of his career but, over the last couple of years, they've gone too far the other way in defending him.
  18. I think it's less hate on Lamar and how he seems to be treated differently to Josh. Excuses made, less criticism, criteria changes for MVP etc. It's on the media rather than Lamar as a QB.
  19. Just be clear and fair with their assessments. Not too much to ask. But guess they might not get clicks that way.
  20. So why is it that JOSH HAS TO GET IT DONE, whereas all and sundry have been defending Lamar? No worries about him getting it done, it's all about the team letting him down. And yet, that's been exactly the case for Josh against the Chiefs in the play offs. He's been playing brilliantly, and either defense, special teams or both have collapsed in the end. The dislike of Josh is only beaten in the infuriating stakes by nobody willing to call out the hypocrisy.
  21. You think that will stop them? It's a nice thought.
  22. Lamar's ceiling was higher than Josh's on Monday, but his floor was lower. It very much was a page from the Chiefs playbook - keep it clean and let the opposition beat themselves. Josh of yesteryear wouldn't have managed it, possibly as he'd feel it was all on him due a lack of a run game. That's what makes Lamar's turnovers even worse. He had Henry, he had Hill. He didn't need to risk it. He did and it cost them. Josh played safe and it's the Bills in the Championship game.
  23. The thing is there is nothing to say now that Josh shouldn't have been drafted before Lamar. There should be no argument if Josh had gone pick one and Lamar two, or vice versa. They have so many strengths and qualities. For some reason they seem fixated on criticising Josh to build up Lamar, which then leads to others (especially Bills fans) doing the opposite to counter it.
  24. My biggest concern was Josh struggling and losing to the Ravens, with Lamar playing lights out - and then winning MVP. The brickbats he would have got would have been unbearable. Whereas Lamar... well, he can turnover the ball twice and still not be criticised so he'll be fine whatever.
  25. The Ravens pulled out a classic Bills post season loss out of their back pocket. Arguably the better team but couldn't get out of their own way, then lost on a play which will be remembered by their own fans forever more. What would we call it if it had happened to us? The Two Point drop? (Football gods - I do not want to find out next weekend. Thanks)
