Who is Buffalo's most under rated player?
GASabresIUFan replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is definitely a "No-name" roster beside Josh and maybe Cook. Taron Johnson and Dawkins get some love here and there but that's about it. Just looking at some Spencer Brown stats. Only 1 sack and only 3 hits allowed all season. Those are insanely low numbers for a NFL tackle. Dawkins numbers are 3 sacks and 4 hits. Also insanely low numbers for a tackle. -

Benford. He is a top 5 corners in the NFL, but no in the media outside of Western NY even mentions him with Mr. I wasn't holding Surtain, Gardner or Winfield Jr etc... Pff grade for Benford is 82.6 which was 5th of 223 CBs in 2024. After Benford it's Spenser Brown. Like Benford he is almost certainly in the top 5 players at his position and gets little to no love nationally. -
Bills sign former Ravens QB Brown to practice squad
GASabresIUFan replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
1) He does know a fair amount Todd Monken's offense 2) He is better suited to simulate how Lamar play vs White or Trubisky 3) Getting a player on the 53 man roster hurt because their playing scout team QB is not a wise decision. -
Bills sign former Ravens QB Brown to practice squad

What a smart signing. He has experience in the Ravens offense as a spot starter and is a very good athlete. He should be a very good Lamar proxy in practice. https://www.niagara-gazette.com/sports/bills-sign-former-ravens-qb-anthony-brown-to-simulate-lamar-jackson-in-practice/article_bca5d074-d398-11ef-a04f-9750bd2c0e6a.html -
Divisional Round, Ravens v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
GASabresIUFan replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is the one game in our playoff journey that scares the hell out of me. We don't defend the run well. We are vulnerable to the mid range passing game. We don't put to much pressure on the QB in the pocket. That makes Balt with Henry a huge matchup issue for our defense as we saw early in the season. They also have a great OC in Todd Monken, you guided UGA to two national championships. But we know Balt can be beaten. Their 5 losses include Cleve and the Raiders. The only common denominator in all 5 games was that Henry was kept under 85 yards. If we can somehow contain Henry our defense will give us a chance to win. Babich and McD should also have learned a great deal from the first game. From an offense standpoint. I'm not worried about us scoring. Brady should have learned a great deal from the first game. We will need to score TDs not FGs and I think we can score 28+ we will win. Controlling time of possession with a strong ball control offense (not necessarily rushing the ball) will go along way to helping our defense. The good news is that we are undefeated at home this season and I don't think that changes this week. Bills 31 Ravens 24 -
Cowboys Set to Interview Leslie Frazier for HC role

He'd be a perfect Jerry hire. Jerry wants a puppet at HC just like Pegula and he's getting similar results. -
This Bills O-Line is Super Bowl caliber!!!

We are the ultimate no name team, except Josh. Brown, Dawkins and Benford should be on everyone’s top player lists. -

Josh wasn’t that diplomatic with the sideline reporter. If i find the video I’ll post it.
-
That isn’t what Josh said in his post game interview. Josh said the ref didn’t like being criticized.
-
So let me see if I understand this. Vinovich went to the sideline to berate Josh for complaining about a missed call without acknowledging that he and his crew missed a blatant holding call. That makes perfect sense. Translation: Vinovich - Don't you dare complain about my incompetence.

Wild Card Round, Broncos 7 Bills 31, GAME BALLS!

Doesn't Ty Johnson also get a nomination for catch of the year? -
Completely wrong. Last season, the Oline was significantly worse than this year especially up the middle and Cook went for 1500 yards from scrimmage. This season, they rotated back more to keep Cook fresh and we saw the results today. There is no question that Cook isn't a bruiser like Henry or Barkley, but has elite speed and vision excellent hands and is among the league leaders in yards from scrimmage despite significantly less touches than the other highly ranking RBs. The fact that we utilize a semi-committee approach should help reduce the cost of the next contract.

And the Bills are 14-4. The Bills proved they don’t need to invest big $ in WRs. That said I expect they’ll add more weapons in the draft and/or re-sign Cooper to a value contract. As to the pass rush, the Bills are middle of the road in sacks, but I think that is more a factor of our D philosophy and our lack of blitzing. Again Beane likes to have depth here and will draft more bodies for the D line early this year. Also guys along the line are available every off-season for short-term deals as kids develop. For example Leonard Floyd. Also of the top sackers in the NFL (11 guys had 11 sacks+ this season), only 3 were drafted in the top 2/3 of the first rd. 1 was taken 30th and the rest were taken in the 2nd rd or later. Van Ginkel, who was a late FA signing this year, was a 5th rd pick and was signed for 2 years 20 mill, with only 14 mill guaranteed and a first year cap hit of only $3.4. We can easily afford such a move. KC’s Chris Jones was also a 2nd rd pick. In this year’s draft highly rated Edge rushers are deep in the draft through the 2nd rd. RBs should also last longer in modern football as most teams are committed to having good running back depth.
-
What big FA do we need? We have turned over most of our roster and have a pile of draft picks to continue to restock. We’ll have plenty of cap to keep Cook, Benford, Torrence and Benard. Groot is a nice player, but not elite. We have another year of Groot and then after that Beane will have to make a decision. By that time big $ contracts for Milano, Miller, and Knox will be over.
-
To be blunt, it’s a stupid theory. Don’t give ordinary RBs (Moss, Singletary) a second contract fine. However elite players need to be retained. Cook is one of the elite RBs in the NFL and a perfect fit for this offense. He isn’t easily replaced. If guys like Cook were so easy to find, we wouldn’t have had to wait six years between 1000 yard rushers and 30 years between elite ones.
-
I honestly can’t believe the Cook haters have resurfaced after this week’s playoff game. Friggin hilarious. First things first. He has one more year on his rookie deal. That means he isn’t going anywhere. Given our cap situation Beane may not extend him this coming off-season. Cook continues to prove the haters wrong. He is the top dawg in the backfield and Brady and Allen trust him in key situations. Have the haters learned nothing? They said he fumbles too much. Wrong! They said he can’t run between the tackles. Wrong! They said he doesn’t score touchdowns. Wrong! They said he is easily replaced. Wrong! He is lightning fast. Breaks tackles, is a huge weapon out of the backfield and is a threat to go to house with every touch. Good luck replacing him. Oh by the way Cook is only 6 months older than Davis and had less than half his college workload. There is considerable tread left on this tire.

Everyone Eats Rushing - 4 ball carriers on 41 carries for 213 yards and 1 TD (I'm leaving out Mitch's kneeldowns) Receiving - 8 players caught a pass for 20 total catches for 272 yards and 2 TDs All in all 11 different Bills players were involved in the offense.
