Eight years ago, not twelve. Although it was in 2012 lol. Every team left is looking to punch a ticket to the AFCC or NFCC and the SB beyond that. There will be no emotional letdown on any of the remaining eight franchises. Believing in that is ludicrous.

Baltimore's Defence - As good as advertised?
Crow-Magnon replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is the Ravens defense good? Yes, it is. Is it ridiculously good? No, it’s not. Not many are. Especially in today’s NFL where rules favor the offense. But when healthy, they are good. Whether that’s enough for a win tonight remains to be seen. The one thing I think that can be counted on is that they won’t fall apart if Buffalo gets up by two scores. They are disciplined and Harbaugh has been here many times before. Experience ain’t everything, but it helps. I have no concerns about the DL or the LB’ers. The secondary is who needs to step up and play tough. Jam the WR’s. Stay close. Make jarring hits. Look for opportunities to strip the ball or pick it off. If they can do that, the Ravens win. If they can’t, they lose. It’s that simple. -
Hey, just wanted to say that as a fan/poster of the team the Bills are going up against this evening, you guys and gals have been great. I like nothing better than discussing football with knowledgeable and passionate fans of other teams that doesn’t resort to insults, name calling, etc. No matter what happens today, you represent. I’m hoping for a Ravens W tonight, but if that doesn’t happen, I hope Buffalo runs the table. You all deserve a Lombardi.

Marlon Humphrey - the light bulb has gone on

Easy. Skimp on the butter and your wings get soggy. -

If you want to try something for tomorrow’s game that honors Buffalo and Baltimore, get some wings fried plain, coat them with honey and dust heavily with Old Bay. Trust me, they’re fantastic. 32 years ago I worked for a major carrier at BWI. We had a flight BWI-BUF-BWI with the same flight crew. We used to give the captain $$$ and he would call the Anchor Bar from the phone in the jetway and order wings, and by the time the aircraft landed back in BWI they were still warm. You could do things like that long before 9/11. -
Well......I can tell you many Ravens fans were pleased to see Dean Pees vacate the Castle. But overall, I think you’re spot on. Defense is a culture in Baltimore. In 2000 the offense scored zero TD’s in five games. And still won a SB. But THAT was a defense that scared people. Speaking of wind, has Bass had any games this year where wind was a factor with FG’s and PAT’s?

Where will Ravens CB’s line up against Bills?
Crow-Magnon replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They started off man-to-man last week then switched over to zone coverage. I anticipate the same the week as well. Especially if weather conditions deteriorate. -

I’ll add this as well. If the weather conditions are slippery and windy, I’d play the CB’s up tight to the LOS and bring Clark and Elliott up closer. Tight enough to jam them off the line. Disrupt their routes and slow them up. -

I think Marlon will shadow Diggs with Peters on Brown and Smith on Beasley. With Averett on Davis as necessary. -

Don’t be surprised if they start man-to-man with Smith covering the slot receiver and transition to zone coverage depending on how the Bills passing game goes. -
For good or ill, I think a lot of fans (not just Ravens fans) expected two things last week. They expected Henry to go well over 100 yards against the Ravens playing on the road, and they expected Buffalo to blow out the Colts at home. Neither happened. Henry was absolutely stymied and the Colts made it a game and barring stupid calls from the HC, should have won. Does any of that matter tomorrow? I think not. This is the playoffs. I have an old sweatshirt from the Ravens AFCC game in 2000. Older posters may remember the NFL’s catch phrase that year was “Show Me Something”. In the post-season it became “Show Me Something More”. That’s the playoffs. There’s likely a player that no one is expecting to contribute that much (on either team) that comes up big. IMO, once you get to the divisional round of the post-season, regular season records mean squat. Both the Bills and Ravens are very good football teams. I will not be surprised in the least if the Bills or the Ravens walk off with the W and a trip to the AFCC. They are both capable of winning it all. It’s The PLAYOFFS!!!!

Do we play 3 LB sets vs the ravens or stick with nickel?
Crow-Magnon replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The first loss (28-24) was with Jackson under center; the second (19-14, which the Ravens almost won) was with RGIII and McSorley, as Jackson and a host of starters were out due to COVID-19. Had the Steelers not picked of Jackson twice, the first game may have ended differently, but at that time the Steelers D was playing at a high level. The second game was much more competitive than I anticipated. Pittsburgh should have crushed them.
