  1. It’s a shame the season ended one game short of your bold prediction. The good news is that they were playing well enough to make it happen and just couldn’t make one more play. Your call came at a time when most fans had lost hope and wouldn’t have exposed themselves to the ridicule that almost was a certainty with the way they were playing. I needed a few quality wins to get on board but  you never stopped believing. Nice job.

Many of us have asked "what is HIS offense"  I found an article on the Atlantic that breaks down what Joe's concepts are for his offense. I like how there are option routes underneath which we have been lacking and Kurt Warner even said was missing from our offense.  From what all I have read on various articles, Joe's offense needs speed. Diggs still has enough, Shakir has plenty, but we need another really good WR to compete for a top slot, and better depth.  Kincaid should thrive in this offense.https://theathletic.com/1606403/2020/02/20/teds-film-room-core-concepts-from-lsu-that-oc-joe-brady-may-use-in-carolina/

I thought his offense was unpredictable and hard to defend. A big time #2 stretch the field receiver would create unstoppable crossing patterns, open running lanes for Josh and lighter boxes for Cook. I’m excited for Brady 2nd iteration. I think Josh is too.

  3. Just remember that Peyton took 9 years to get past his postseason ineptitude and win a championship. When he had the top 5 receiving corps and Edgerin James along with a great defensive and offensive line, he beat Brady. The Bills are ready right now. The Chiefs game could have been a different outcome if one or two plays went differently. Diggs’s drop, Josh’s end zone throw which he completes in his sleep if he doesn’t get bumped or even Bass’s missed chip shot. We’re a year or two out. Just stay patient. Are you not entertained?

It is with a heavy heart that I have to let you all know the doctors can’t do anything more for my beautiful wife. She had a massive stroke on Saturday night (on top of the massive aneurysm on Friday night) and we have decided to remove her air tube on Wednesday morning.

This has taught me so much. First, how much I truly loved and depended on my wife. Second, how precious life is. Third, don’t say, do, or have actions that you might regret. Fourth, football is just a game.

We all love the Bills and have different ways that we think they need to go, but in the end, none of it matters. Hold tight the ones you love. Don’t sweat financial issues, stay close to your spouse, and just flat out do the very best you can.

    With love…Scott and Jill Whorley

Beautiful, heartfelt sentiments that put into perspective the abject frustration and emptiness Bills fans feel at a premature ending of an emotional ride. The loss of a loved one crushes the soul. That person lives in your heart and mind with vivid images that affect your sleep and every aspect of your life  for a long time. The tough beats by your favorite team usually lasts for a few months until the offseason gives hope to move forward. The healthiest way to handle fandom is to realize that rooting is a vehicle to enhance the joy and exhilaration you so desperately need to give you balance in a challenging world, but when frustration starts putting your mental and physical health in jeopardy, remembering Scott’s words of wisdom about perspective is useful.

  5. If there is any justice in the world, KC will get beat. Hard to accept there’s another NE style dynasty so soon. KC fans are becoming hard to deal with. I still see that pass into the end zone falling short of Shakir and then Bass ending it. It should have been us.

  6. Sounds like a move that weakens Miami after having Fangio, who was hamstrung by injuries.  Frazier a good coach but he was too bend don’t break for my taste and never brought extra pressure, wanting extra DBs. If you have a dominant front that’s fine, but good QBs carve you up with time to operate.

They were just missing the pass plays off the run. He did call the deep shot off play action to Diggs but I just felt like there was more to be had in the air. Chiefs were selling out vs the run in the 2nd half and when you have Allen you should be able to take advantage of that.

    Im not saying Dorsey would’ve.

Diggs had a ball that he should’ve caught that would’ve changed the game. There wasn’t much other than that in the way of downfield separation. The game was there for the taking.

Wins? Ok. I do think the team woke up with the firing. Similar to a hockey team firing a coach. But reality is the defense was the big improvement after the firing.

I would love to be impressed by Brady but I just wasn’t. I think his passing offense will be much improved with a full offseason to put his touches on it.

The thing you should be impressed with is the fact he had a game plan against KC that worked perfectly. Control the ball, keeping Mahomes off the field against a banged up undermanned defense . We  dominated with 39 minutes and 78 plays against their 46. The run game with Josh and Cook ,underneath passes to the sidelines with limited exposure to TOs because our receivers were not getting separation against a great KC secondary. Finally, we were in a position to win but between a bad kicker and Dion getting pushed into Josh preventing him from completing a TD pass in the End Zone to Shakir, it didn’t happen, but it wasn’t because of Brady.

Brady’s play calling was about as simple as it gets. Probably due to him taking over midseason. It was a very dumbed down offense. Passing concepts were JV level.

The biggest plus was his commitment to the run, but IMO that was a negative because we have Josh Allen.

In terms of metrics or analytics Dorsey’s offense was better in that regard also.

I guess scoring and wins are secondary to you and being multidimensional with your attack especially since the passing game is limited in Dec and Jan because of the elements. Give me one statistic that Dorsey’s offense was better at .Finally, why do you think Dorsey was fired after 11 games with the team at 6 and 5? Losing to juggernauts like the Jets, NE, Denver. A commitment to the run is a negative because we have Josh Allen is your knock on Brady? I suggest you road test some of these ideas with guys in the bar before posting .

I believe he’s a better play caller than Brady. It’ll be interesting to to see how he does. Browns are talented.

Better than Brady huh. What metrics say that? Wins, no, run game, no, Josh passing and running for TDs, no, 1st half scoring,no, less predictable play calling, hell no, getting Shakir and Kincaid involved in the offense, also no. Are you saying there’s an intangible aspect to him being better? Mindless statement.

    Ed

oliver is still an average rotational player to me. Wow he showed up vs the chargers!

    color me impressed !

he didn’t make any play vs kc. He’s weak

agaisnt the run. His short arms / can’t get off blocks. And his rush is undisciplined more often than not and our d gets burned by the qb bc of it

You have minimal credibility after the average rotational comment. You know average doesn’t get 10 sacks as a tackle and top 10 in QB pressures. 35 individual tackles. Our defense was clueless as a unit giving up 27 points on 47 total offensive snaps. You want to blame Oliver for KC having receivers wide open all night or runs that looked like no one wanted to tackle anybody. There was AJ Klein at MLB and and the rookie Willams also defending the run. The Defensive coach also made no adjustments. “ His short arms / can’t get off blocks “ and his rushes are undisciplined “. These are the comments of someone who knows short arms when he sees them on TV and is an acknowledged authority on disciplined rushing. Forgetting about the other tackles and edge rushers getting stoned by O-lines, in your expert judgment it’s because of Oliver. Red hots like you shouldn’t be allowed to post.

Ed Oliver was utterly invisible for the majority of his career and in this year's postseason.

He's like the football equivalent of Mr. September

Tre white's career is probably over

Why don’t you mention Oliver’s  season and by the way,the whole defense sucked against Mahomes with backups and bad coaching. Oliver  was arguably an all pro this season. Look at his #s.  With all your Beane criticism, Bass hits a chip shot , we’ re tied with a minute left against the champs.

If you had to ask me to choose whether to fire beane or McDermott, I choose beane. Why? While he's overall built a competitive roster, he's utterly failed at drafting gane-changing players.

You know my position on some of his picks, but ask yourself honestly: would you rather have a Metcalf or an Oliver? Basham or Humphrey? AJE or Uche? I could go on, but beane seems to prefer a whole roster of average over high ceiling guys (oddly, with the exception of the QB).

Also, this team lacks speed all over the field on both offense and defense, and I'd argue that the lack of speed on defense is the most notable reason why this team has failed in the postseason.

Lastly, beane's cap management and free agent acquisitions have been suboptimal, and the cap issues are going to do us in this coming season, I get the feeling. So, if you're asking me who's holding the bag of failure, it's Brandon Beane.

Easy to second guess draft choices. Oliver was a good pick as evidenced by the year he had after he got paid. Lack of speed on defense has a lot to do with injuries. With Milano, Rousseau, Bernard, Miller, and Tre White there’s enough speed. Williams is a draft that will pay dividends the next few seasons. You neglect to mention Shakir, Kincaid with a trade, Cook and a guard that played every play this season. Miller, White and Diggs contracts will be a problem when Josh explodes but you can’t take big swings if you’re afraid of injuries. You also neglected to mention the Douglas acquisition which helped win 6 straight.

  14. I know there’s plenty of excuses for the ineptitude we displayed against the Chiefs.(injuries, short turnaround and Mahomes) Sean, however with “next man up “ and no excuses mentality, didn’t distinguish himself as a DC. worth going forward with. He couldn’t come close to Mahomes with a 4 man rush and stubbornly stayed with it. When he brought pressure in the 2nd half, there were wide open receivers and quick scores as evidenced by the amount of plays they ran. His defense allowed runners to embarrass us even though we knew they would be run heavy. For anyone to think that our loss was anything but on that defense is silly. Sean is a good defensive coach but his weakness is overrating his personnel and wishing and hoping divine intervention will make everything ok.
