It’s still second guessing a trade that was short circuited by serious injury when Diggs was healthy his whole career. Houston wanted a veteran star for this season to be a steadying influence on a young receiver room and 2nd year QB. According to his coaches and teammates he did that in a big way.Shortening the financial long term hit was beneficial to the team because they can retain him with a tag or an appropriate contract depending on his performance. Diggs can still have a positive affect even if he’s not playing. I think the benefit of signing a star receiver sends a message to your team that you’re all in which helps with FAs.

Houston will get a Diontae Johnson, Calvin Ridley, or Mike Williams.

Absolutely, most objective observers felt it was a game changing trade for the Texans. Diggs was a security blanket for their 2nd year QB prior to his injury. He brings an edge that is usually a positive for a year or two.

I’m disgusted by Diggs as much as the next guy but career threatening injuries are not something to lump into roster decision mess ups. Diggs was a vital contributor for them and that injury is tragic. I hope he comes back strong. He’s good for the game.

Don’t over analyze his targets. The game plan was running it down their throat with Cook, who looks like one of the top 5 backs in the NFL. Then getting Shakir on the edge where he looked awesome and finally the TEs on crossers and Coleman in man coverage. I’d say Cooper who commands double coverage helped all these assets excel.

The next 6 games will be interesting.

Bills will be favored in all those games except Detroit. It’s crucial that we finish with the 2 seed because beating Baltimore and Houston on the path to KC will be challenges we don’t need. I believe we will ultimately beat anyone in our building if we’re healthy. The game that scares me is LA along with Detroit. -
If you’re thinking that a blowout road win over a tough opponent could result in a universally positive reaction forget it, not on this forum. This team is becoming something very different from teams before and their obvious shortcomings. First, their offensive makeup and mentality is run effectively to set up the QB with the best arm talent in football. With 2 quality TEs, 3 complimentary talented wideouts and an OL that is getting better as the season progresses, our passing game is tremendous. Cook, Davis and Johnson are perfect for how Brady wants to call plays. Momentum is starting to define this team and their confidence level. Sadly the pre snap penalties are still a problem and our kicker can’t be trusted in a big spot, but if you’re being objective, this team has a different look and already other than the clunker in Baltimore, they were better than their opponent in every game.

What is Greg Rousseau worth?
Eastport bills replied to Kingston Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
This guy is the MVP of our defense. He provides consistent pressure and a relentless chase down of QBs, RBs and even underneath receivers. I was wrong about his value and maybe the extra motivation of being in a contract year is part of the equation, he must be resigned and with anything from Miller we have a chance to be great defense. Bernard, Williams, Oliver, Jones, Johnson,Rapp and 2 good corners. Every week they play better, scary. -
Bishop is soft and green, and Edwards is mired in Sean’s doghouse for some reason. Mind boggling that Hamlin has been the starter for the 1st third of the season. Sean has blood on his hands if he doesn’t start using Edwards. Is he waiting for Edwards to demand a trade before he gets him on the field. When guys miss practice with an ailment you know they’re making a statement.

NFL ratings are indicating that even more people are watching. Perhaps your problem is the overexposure caused by so many games available. The Bills/Jets game was unusually sloppy but very entertaining because it meant so much to both teams. I disagree about questioning the roster construction because the Diggs trade was necessary and we didn’t actually know how the receiving corps would work out. The fact that Cooper became available after 6 games because of Browns ineptitude and Beane jumped on the best fit available is genius. If you lose interest that’s fine because there are 4 or 5 young people, encouraged by fanatical family members ready to take your place. NFL football is the most insidious addiction that’s captured the collective soul of the American sports and gambling fans in history. Hopefully you can replace your sports watching preferences with something else that can keep you engaged for 31/2 hours at a time, but I doubt it.

He doesn’t bring a physicality in run defense or a sense of where to be on passing downs. He looked confused and green to me. He needs seasoning.

Bill Polian on Sirius NFL said that he didn’t care what that clueless officiating expert said about the hand coming vertically down, that it was the definition of the tuck rule that was codified as a fumble by the rules committee. That’s why Parry in the Bills booth wanted Sean to challenge but it couldn’t be.
-
He’s going to kill us in a big spot. He’s got a crisis of confidence. He’s starting to duck hook kicks more often now. He’s gotta go.

Regular season sure, until they prove they can win a playoff game, they are just a SB competitor.

You’re absolutely right, if the QB is not accurate or other options are preventing guys from making plays, the OC may not be the problem. If you’re being objective though, through 5 games with the mantra being “ everyone eats” it’s obvious Knox is a blocker period. Samuel may be injured because he cannot get separation in the 10 to 15 yd area and Josh would find an open Samuel if it was available. MVS had a long pass overthrown but that’s everything. He should be a bigger piece with Shakir hurt and Coleman not getting many opportunities. Its only 2 games since we had offensive success, maybe this game tonight will get some more guys involved.
-
Brady has failed miserably in incorporating Knox, Samuel , MVS, and Davis into the offense. If it doesn’t improve, we’re doomed because Coleman, Hollins, and Shakir aren’t vertical threats for the most part. Shakir is terrific in the slot and a clutch 3rd down converter but Josh is forced into vulnerable exposure trying to bide time until these other guys get open and it’s not working.

What’s the problem, Allen, Brady, Oline, Talent?
Eastport bills replied to Meatloaf63's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s averaging 11 yds a catch on 24 targets with 15 catches. If Sean challenges the catch on the sideline for a crucial 1st down, maybe we win that game. Anyway he’s been one of our 2 best receivers along with Shakir. At least he gets open. -

Allen has not gotten his rhythm yet and the receiver relationships has not developed as quickly as we hoped. Brady is partly responsible because he has eliminated Knox, Samuel and MVS from the game planning. Now the final component is the receivers are not getting separation, leading to Josh abandoning the pocket and being forced to throw low percentage, over the middle passes. The only bright spot is Kincaid and Cook are performing well. Brady needs a big game Monday to turn the tide. -
It was time to trade Matt 2 years ago when he had some trade value. Now he is a guy that used to be great but his body keeps breaking down and might be worth a middle round draft pick.
