If the Bills can't rebound from the embarrassment of that passive, comatose performance on Sunday , our season is over. Simeon is a lower tier backup and they just got whipped by Philly, who hasn't beaten any team over 500. Sean, who's claim to fame is hard-nosed defense, should have this group breathing fire and playing smart, physical, sure tackling football. Josh, whose reputation took a beating with that stunned look on the sideline after many inaccurate, forced throws, needs to show some leadership and get deadly serious with this must win game. These guys have been put to sleep with the media's anointing them a SB lock. Sorry guys, you've been pedestrian thru 10 games against mostly bottom feeders. Time to put your big boy pants on and play dominant football.

Week 12: Bills at Saints on Thanksgiving
Eastport bills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
The most important thing I'd like to see is the team playing with urgency and being fundamentally sound. Get off the field after good 3rd down defense without penalties and stop killing drives with false starts and holding penalties. Be physical with tackling and get some pressure with 4 or 5 rushers. Use Philly's blueprint and get a win. -
When does McD go on the hot seat?
Eastport bills replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
No hot seat till he misses the playoffs. If that happens, he gets next year to solidify his job. He has underachieved and Dabol has Josh's support or he's out the door this offseason with the unimaginative playcalling and not dressing Breida until week 10. Frazier should be replaced because this group does not tackle or play defense without fouling. -
Serious question; what causes a team to pancake like this?

Nice to be in agreement for once. Don't let it happen again. -
Serious question; what causes a team to pancake like this?
Eastport bills replied to npeartisgod's topic in The Stadium Wall
This team is playing as if it is preordained that they will go deep in the playoffs. Some players think their playing time is guaranteed despite poor performances. These things are representative of coaching deficiencies. The other factors are the inevitable results of having difference makers injured or unvaccinated. Now if Sean is the coach we want going forward, he can motivate these players to be better. Will there be enough talent to change our trajectory is the question. -

You could be right about that, but I had the impression he was under duress especially on the 1st pick. The weather might have factored in with him dealing with a wet ball. I can't watch replays because I stream the games.

I like your take, but it is frustrating having guys that we desperately need(Brown, Star, Edmunds,)in limbo. We also have a real problem with lack of discipline and tackling. Can these issues be corrected with this personnel. In addition, because of the porous nature of our O-line, Josh is starting to force throws. Scary times.

Good teams bounce back from bad losses and start playing their best in December. The Pats, Chiefs and Colts are doing just that. I'll be optimistic about us ,but having the Saints, Bucs away with the Pats in the middle is the biggest challenge of the season for a team that is struggling. Let's see how the Coaching staff can prepare this team to win big games.

The Good News and The Bad News
Eastport bills replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
You make a good "glass half full case". Unfortunately the fly in the ointment is this team has problems with discipline ( silly penalties and fundamentals(tackling and drops) I think they are not buttoned up enough,as they are playing now, to go the distance on the road in the playoffs. Maybe they turn it around in Dec. -

Tell about Sean's team fundamentally. How many missed tackles should a good team have? How many stupid penalties? This team needs to look in the mirror. They played without pride or motivation today. That's on our coaching. -

Classic example of Sean's shortcomings. His team get silly penalties, many on 3rd, and don't tackle well. All indicative of poor discipline. -
Hapless, you are truly remarkable. The protector of decorum, a profound understanding of NFL management concepts and now a master of grammatical correctness. On behalf of the unwashed masses, we are truly lucky to have your leadership. BTW ,perhaps you should look at all the definitions and synonyms of subtlety.

You make a good point and I am sensitive to being overly negative. The thing that is frustrating is that 40 year fans, who have bled internally with this team, realize how close we are. Maybe Brown will come back for NE and Mongo will be rejuvenated, and I will admit to overreacting. I just want to see us playing our best in December.

This team has a top 5 defense, JA17 and great receivers. Our season starts in January. You want to delude yourself and say the lack of a running game and moving the pocket to cover up holes in the rush lanes is giving us our best chance to beat good defenses, have at it. 13 and 3 is good but this team will be judged by SBs. 6 and 3 is a 1/2 game ahead of NE. It too late for that hemmatime

Obviously you being an apologist for the ineptitude of mangmt addressing this line, it will be difficult to convince you, but I'll try. Ford sucked 2 years ago. Brown , who will be good, is not dependable being unvaccinated as we are learning at the worst possible time. Bates, I said facetiously is a backup long snapper. You have a little problem with subtlety but your condescending edge makes up for it. If dropping Hart and bringing him back is the answer I'm not optimistic. It's a bottom line business. Every team loses pieces on both sides of the line. Our depth has been wanting and accepting this fact by the fan base instead of lame explanations, will get results.
-
Does playing turnstiles like Ford, Bates or a raw rookie like Doyle make common sense. We tried Williams and Ford on the right side against Jax, how did that turn out? Now this new cast of characters will man the tackle position against a good D-line, with the superstars Bobby Hart in the wings. The scrapheap addition should have been done much earlier.
-
It's just sad that the Bills organization has left the cupboard bare on the O-line, being dependent on an unvaccinated rookie and a long snapper to play the tackle opposite Indy's best rusher(Buckner). If Beane had real skills he would have picked up a stopgap O-lineman from the scrapheap and indoctrinated him into the system for a game or 2. Why should Ford even be on the team after seeing his performance on tape. Why does Bellicek fix both lines in one offseason, and we struggle with this weakness every year. Keeping Ford and letting Teller leave was unforgivable.
-
Me too, fair points.
-
Good point, our receiving corp is better but those TEs and rbs with screens and underneath stuff are really complimentary to their extremely accurate QB.
-
Guess what, the Pats are not overhyped. Their defense is legit, with Barmore(a beast) ,great dbs(Jackson, McCourty)and the leader Judon. Their O-line is superior to ours and Harris, Bolden and Stephenson are as good as our rbs. The big difference is at QB. We win this matchup but they are more buttoned up due to their coaching edge. We will have to be healthy and disciplined(no silly penalties) to win a close one.

OT: Are you concerned about Mac Jones?
Eastport bills replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
The concern should be that with their O-line and a couple of good backs and 2 good TE, this guy sits back there with time and completes a very high percentage of throws. Now he hasn't faced our front so we'll see.
