  1. Thank you so much for giving us the definitive answer on the roster construction, without so much as any reasons or explanation. I’ll get back to when I need the last word on any other questions about the team. Do you have a blog or an online column. Much appreciated taking your valuable time to render this decree.
  2. No problem with the plan for the slot receiver but not getting more veteran depth after Hyde went down for the year (even though he’s ready to play now) and Poyer getting dinged is going to be a real challenge. With Elam hurt and the rest of the backups being less than impressive, stopping good passing teams looks tricky.
  3. Fine, let White do whatever he wants, but are saying that Beane prepared this team for him not playing for 3/4 of the season? He has been victimized by White’s reluctance to play after being cleared by our medical staff. Veteran secondary players should have been brought in and playing for 2 weeks. This is our window, look at what KC did when their receivers went down.
  4. You want to say Josh had a bad turnover game, fine. The point I was making was that Minn scored every possession from trailing 27-10 with Cousins throwing for 357, Jefferson receiving for 193. You want to say the Bills made a couple of goal line stands OK, but they had to march down the field and get the figs. Josh had 330 passing with 84 rushing. The defense stunk and could have made a stop and picked him up at numerous times in the game. I know Josh has to pull these games out of his rear end most days with our defensive injuries and clueless secondary but this time he couldn’t. You want to blame the guy, have at it.
  5. This gets to the point where our management group has been keeping to confidentiality rules surrounding players injuries . So fans are watching a third rate secondary the last few games with White being cleared to play weeks ago. Why would White be allowed to take direction from his private medical team when all the other players are advised by team accredited doctors and surgeons. Hasn’t White been practicing for weeks? Beane should have fortified this position before the deadline. We need to know what’s the window for White’s return is. The fans are paying for these monster contracts which limit player acquisitions. The injury happened a year ago. These complications are happening late in the process. Either our medical team or Beane has handled this player poorly.
  6. Don’t listen to me, ask your friends on the board if our defense was able to stop anything Minn. did from the end of the 3rd quarter. Look at the monster numbers Cook had and Cousins ability to complete every pass and Jefferson getting 200 yds receiving. Josh had 2 bad picks but he also passed for 330 and ran for 84. You want to say the turnovers hurt, OK, but they weren’t pick sixes. Minn still had to run it down our throats and score on every drive from the end of the 3rd qtr. If you’re up 27-10, a reasonable defense should allow you to win.
  7. Are you hanging your hat on week 3? Since then our defense looks very different. When the depth guys in the secondary took over look at the passing and running stats in the last 3 games. It’s our job to question the way the team is constructed.
  8. Is it Shakir’s fault he didn’t get any snaps or targets? Himes can’t get any either. What does this have to do with McKenzie not being an adequate replacement for Beasley?
  9. McKenzie is a soft player and I don’t trust him in a big spot.Thankfully he doesn’t return kicks anymore. The 2pt. conversion was only possible if he attempted to break the goal line by turning into the contact. He probably doesn’t make it but you can’t run out of bounds without trying. He fumbles and drops passes and seems slight. He should be a good slot security blanket for Josh, like Beasley, but he doesn’t want to withstand the punishment Cole sought out. Shakir is a much better option.
  10. Hey everyone is losing patience but it’s management’s responsibility to get him out there. Jobs are on the line if we can’t keep winning. If the guy has been cleared to play, do you think he’s telling them he’s not ready mentally? Get him out there, with a brace if necessary, and spot him limited reps. Get him a sports psychologist to build him up. Let’s go, it’s a year already. He’s a free agent soon.
  11. I love your objectivity because it’s hard for Bills fans to accept a team that drafted Josh, Edmunds,Milano and traded for Diggs, actually have gaping holes in their secondary depth and receiving corp and O-line. As a GM you can’t use ignorance of the length of injuries as an excuse. The reference to KC is sadly on the money. They’re proactive and have filled holes beautifully. It doesn’t hurt to have number 15 either .
  12. You just helped make the point. Elam and Benford(6th rd) is the answer to losing White for 2/3 of the season and Hyde and Poyer . Be a defender of the state of our defense and the architect of the roster at your own risk. While we’re at it, which addition to our team over this offseason has made a contribution of consequence other than Miller for 120mill. Hey this team has a core of great talent. The role of a good GM is to provide depth to areas of need caused by injury. Our defense is dependent on the secondary making major strides and White coming back playing to his preinjury form. These GMs get plenty of credit when they draft a generational talent (Josh)and trade for a Diggs, when we are defenseless against good offenses, for whatever reason, they bear responsibility along with coaches. Loyalty is fine, being objective is better.
  13. It’s frustrating that these young guys are losing confidence by being burnt so much. You want to say they haven’t been coached well, maybe but should they have been thrust into starting roles. Beane didn’t address these deficiencies before the deadline. He’s reluctant to dip into draft capital. This team is into our window to break the drought. You look at how proactive the Chiefs are in addressing shortcomings.
  14. When you lose Edmunds or Milano and Poyer doesn’t play or is limited, with this secondary you can’t stop the run or the pass. Beane has been deficient in providing quality depth knowing Hyde, White and Poyer would miss multiple games. Couple that with starting 2 inexperienced rookies at corner and you have a situation where Josh and the offense have no room for errors. With what our expectations were coming into the season, Beane has been a disappointment. His pro-scouting dept has given us Xavier Rhodes.
  15. OK, I thought when you put up 30 and pass for 330 and run for 84 while getting a lead of 27 -10, you should bury a team playing on the road. Look at Cooks running numbers and Cousins completing every pass with Jefferson’s 200. Dopey wake up. Absolutely right, my mistake. Never saw scheduling like that. The networks are desperate to get Bills on prime time. The national audience loves the Bills.
  16. I can’t believe that. This schedule is designed to bring our record back to the pack or get our guys injured. How can the players union allow this crap.
  17. Don’t worry, if he wins the Detroit game, he’s got 11 days to heal the elbow, which would have shelved most QBs. A 2 game hiccup, where our defense was non existent, he couldn’t get wins by himself. Josh will win games like those most Sundays. You could see he’s struggling with the elbow with those throws in the first 4 possessions. He got better as the game went on. I’ll take him over anyone other than Mahomes even with the picks. All great QBs have unexplainable stretches. He’s a gamer and a winner.
  18. Perfect assessment. Now let’s keep doing it.
  19. Just get these winnable games and hope we get healthy on the back end. You have to think Elam and White will get back after Detroit, and Rousseau and Edmunds should help in a big way. Detroit won’t be easy but if we win, the season sets up nicely.
  20. At least they’re making it part of the game plan . It doesn’t look like Cook needs much of a lane. Motor looked really good also. Now the passing game will benefit and I’d love to see a few screens to Hines and Cook.
  21. Milano is undeniably the most talented and valuable player on defense. His instincts and speed along with physicality make one of the best lbs in football. He runs down rbs and is great in pressure packages. He’s perfect in concert with Edmunds and with our front four can overcome the beleaguered secondary.
  22. Allen looked lost for the 1st quarter and a half. Giving him the benefit of tough circumstances, he had a short practice week, a relocated game after a historic storm and coming off his worst 2 games turnover wise in 2seasons. He was fine after that and played controlled, smart football. The Bills ran the ball in thr 2nd half and scored on most of their drives. The biggest takeaway was this team is giving DCs plenty to worry about after that running display. Josh didn’t expose himself to hard hits and we got a good win.
  23. Everybody knows our existing secondary except for Poyer, cannot cover my grandmother. They either grab or never get their head around. The “turning point” was more about taking charge of a game after being dominated. The offense showed a running attack. Josh made good decisions and the Frazier played more aggressively with pressure packages. Haven’t seen that for a long time.
  24. Hopefully this isn’t the team we field come playoff time. White , Edmunds, Elam and Rousseau will be make us better. I still want to give the front 6 or 7 along with Poyer some credit. They played tough after a tough star where the Browns did anything they wanted.
  25. Well we’ll we’ll, these guys are showing some real pride and physicality. Shaq, Milano, Jackson, Poyer having great games. How about our leader , Von . This is beginning to look like our turning point game.
