Is the "new" Curtis Samuel here to stay?
Eastport bills replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, he had the turf toe which is limiting as a receiver. Josh couldn’t develop the trust necessary to get him on the field or targets. This could be the beginning of some consistent production especially if Coleman is not 100% -
Is the "new" Curtis Samuel here to stay?

The Samuel in Washington and in Sunday’s game is an elusive, versatile receiver who has great hands and can be a 3rd down converter. He is a great complement to Shakir and Cooper. I am getting excited about our receivers especially if Kincaid and Knox can stay healthy. -
You knew what I meant with pitch count and I’ve been using that expression in this context for forty years and you’re the first person with the need to define it. Milano has missed the better part of his 2nd contract with different injuries and most of that due to his balls to the wall physical style. He is injury prone and you have no idea what his condition is after sitting out for a year and a half. No training camp or real game action and you want to throw him into high leverage games as the starting OLB. A measured approach is the way to go with him.
-
Put Matt on a pitch count and bring him back slowly. Dorian is playing great and is part of a tandem with Bernard that is a big part of 9 and 2. Matt is an all pro OLB but at this point in his career, he’s a good bet to hit IR before the playoffs if he’s the starter. Let’s just get him in game shape and in the flow and set him loose in the playoffs.

Benford, Bernard & Shakir…re-sign all of them?
Eastport bills replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall
No brainer and while you’re at it, resign Williams. -
He was as good as Brown without the presnap penalties. Going against a great D-line and they sent their best at him, he deserves a game ball. We have some nice depth on the O-line.

Is this the best team in the Allen era?
Eastport bills replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
When fully healthy, ( Milano, receivers and O-line) it seems like best complimentary roster we’ve had. If that translates to a championship it would mean losing Diggs brought this team together. -
Samuel is a huge addition to our team. With him creating separation and YAC, that gives Coop, Shakir and Coleman, when he returns, more space to operate. Throw in the TEs and Hollins and now we’re talking. Let’s get our O-line healthy and just dominate. With our running backs that’s a lot to defend.

Cooper says he plans to play Sunday with a cast!
Eastport bills replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I guess in his case, there should have been a ticker tape parade. They gave up nothing for him and got 2 big years of production. After setting their franchise back 10 years with the laughable Watson contract, Cooper was someone the GM could take credit for. Unfortunately when the season imploded Coop was a goner because his production with Watson declined and he still had value. -

Oakland made him the 4th overall pick and moved him quickly to Dallas who gave up a 1st rounder for him. Then CeeDee Lamb fell in their lap and Dallas parted company with him. Cleveland got 2 straight big production years out of him and after DeSean’s dumpster fire killed the team, they offload Cooper for a 3rd. To me he seems like a perpetual gunslinger for rental. Call me when he says he wants to be a Bill for the future. -
Random talking head says something about the Bills
Eastport bills replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills need to shut everyone up with accomplishments in postseason. Until that happens they will be an underachieving team that makes the playoffs every year and wins a playoff game before losing in the divisional round or conference championship. They control the public’s perception with how they play this season. -
Cooper says he plans to play Sunday with a cast!
Eastport bills replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cooper has to prove his ability to be a winning ball player. The fact that he has been unceremoniously bounced out of 2 teams in 3 years indicates his commitment to team success is not in his DNA. His talent is unquestioned but he seems reluctant to become part of unified movement, with his ultimate departure a given. Lets see how he tries to play through injury this week. -
Josh is respectful of Mahomes as the recognized top QB, but he doesn’t have to gush about this guy. He needs to beat him in the playoffs and get us to the SB. Let’s see how Mahomes, Burrow and Lamar react to Josh when he is a SB winner. Josh is more diplomatic than any of them. We’re not trying to make friends with these elite athletes just not give them bulletin board motivation.

Kincaid update? (now declared OUT for Sunday)
Eastport bills replied to JMM's topic in The Stadium Wall
NFL receivers since the beginning of time believe you get two hands on a ball it should be caught. Josh has some good possession receivers(Shakir, Hollins, Coleman, Knox) but 0 vertical threats. His best chance for longer completions is a lower trajectory back shoulder or just putting the ball right on his guys who win on contested throws. Dropping long throws from the sky, like Russ, doesn’t fit our receivers. -
Hollins has been a pleasant surprise. He’s a locker room star and leader which was expected but he has been a big play and red zone contributor. This week with 3 starters inactive, Curtis will be targeted because they will try and take Shakir and Hollins away. Let’s see if he can rise to the occasion with man coverage.
-
I’m holding out hope that Curtis starts being a contributor. Usually it takes until November to integrate a new receiver. In his defense he’s had the turf toe which is a tough injury for receivers and Josh does not have the trust in him which translates to targets. The next game should feature Samuel, Shakir and Knox along with Cook, Davis and Johnson(who makes plays every time he hits the field).

The Bye Can't Come Soon Enough...Rest and Fix Some Things
Eastport bills replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Chiefs are a fake 9 and 0 juggernaut team. Having said that, finding a way to win all these games is impressive but even the Chiefs know they will lose in the playoffs if they keep playing like this. Mahomes is getting killed on a gimpy ankle and with a turnstile at left tackle. They can’t run the ball like they used to and Tenn dumped DHop for a reason, he just can’t separate anymore. He’s not a #1 and KC is thin at receiver. Their secondary is giving up completions that we’re not used to and the Bills always play them tough. I see a banged up Bills team hanging in, because KC keeps everyone in, and winning a close one, resting Coleman, Cooper and Kincaid. -

Presnap penalties have been a problem all year. That’s a problem with coaching. The run percentage is misleading. Those screens to Shakir and Samuel are essentially run plays and those are potentially chunk plays the way Shakir slices and dices the defense. Our defense gets gashed for big runs one or two times every game, but they hold teams to FGs and that wins games. We were without our two leading receivers and Josh still threw for 280 and got Knox, Samuel and Hollins involved. Kincaid, Coleman and Cooper should sit out the Chiefs game and get healthy for the last 6 games. I think we can beat KC in KC if healthy, so winning next week would be nice but not worth exposing these players to extended absence. -
Josh was not himself the last drive but how was he the 3 previous drives? The good news is on his biggest throw he put it right in Coleman’s hands and teed up the PF for the head hunting Poyer. Josh deserved that miracle kick because he kept us viable with a tremendous 2nd half.

Jordan Poyer needs to be suspended
Eastport bills replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Likely is not yet worthy of Coleman because he is fully capable of dropping passes on his own as he did on the interception. I didn’t think that was a DPI. On 3rd down if they break up the pass, it’s OT. The hit was clearly a targeting, head hunting type of hit. Don’t lay the loss at Poyer’s feet but when you put Josh on the 45 with 37 seconds left and a TO, you figure he’s going to get 15 yds since he scored on every possession in the 2nd half. -

Bad , brutal penalty on Jordan. He single handedly lost the game for his team. You have to wonder what the mentality of a veteran leads him to go helmet to helmet when that always gets called. Does he want to hurt the opponent or is he just checked out by all the losing. -
Great Bills fan and a real gentleman. Sincere condolences to his family and close friends.

Coleman doesn’t need that much separation and Shakir gets open on every 3rd down. When Cooper gets acclimated he’s proven to be open and the TEs are big, physical and fast. Kincaid can get 6 catches a game with no problem. With Cook, a matchup nightmare for LBs and Safeties, what are you worried about.
