50 years ago today, the final game at The Rockpile
Eastport bills replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
You got to have good genetics and pure luck to achieve the rewards of advanced age. Hopefully you and your loved ones will get there. It’s something to celebrate not look down your nose at. Most cultures around the world, treat their seniors with great respect and value their wisdom and life experience. -
So, is Elam playing this week?

No he went before but that didn’t stop some of the over exuberant fans from comparing them. -

Just a frustrating scenario with a 1st rd pick that should be contributing with White missing all those games. This is becoming a colossal embarrassment for Beane and his scouting dept. The secondary is the weakest unit on the team and this guy was counted on to at least be a depth contributor but sadly he can’t get a sniff of the field in week 14. Congrats to all those delusional homer fans who suggested Elam was better than Sauce Gardner. -
Nothing against Leslie but he’s not a slam dunk to be successful. He was underwhelming in Minn. and most of the latest hires are from the other side of the ball. He has been good with us but how much credit should go to Sean. I wouldn’t touch him I had a struggling franchise and I wanted to get competitive fast.

Now let’s see them run the table to at least Cinn. Divisional games at home Jets, Miami with Chicago away. If this is the team that deserves the bye and home field, those games are a must. When Cinn comes up let’s see how we’re playing and our health situation. One game at a time.

2 lbs in favor of a nickel db. If Edmunds and Milano are on the field, and we’re getting pressure with the front four, we usually dominate, especially with Poyer and White playing. I meant 2lbs with a nickel is why we don’t play 3 lbs.

Miami media takes an early shot at Buffalo
Eastport bills replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tua’s a good kid and he’s got a quick release, but he’s been surrounded by solid to spectacular talent. Now he has no excuses for going deep in the playoffs. Injuries, tough scheduling or bad calls won’t cut it. -

The smell of desperation is starting to permeate the coverage of the Dolphins. After they crapped the bed vs the 3rd string QB of the Niners, prospects of getting past the wildcard week seems slim. Throw in Tua’s lackluster performance and you have all the earmarks of a 3 game losing streak. Looking forward to these thin blooded, precious sissies shivering as our crowd reign down sweet nothings on their heads. Good luck fellas. -
Now that he had a problematic physical can we just forget this diva please.

I’m all for Sean as our coach going forward, he’s a great leader most importantly. I would like to see him however, come up large in a big spot against KC or Cinn.
-
The criticism of Sean was all about 13 seconds because that was a soul crushing, mindless choke job, by a defensive coach. That came off being outcoached and defeated by the Chiefs the prior year. You’re absolutely right about him showing improved game day decision making and getting the most out of his players. He’s a solid coach and definitely should be given credit for turning this floundering franchise into perennial winners. Beane has also been instrumental.

Bills open as 9.5 favorites against Jets(10.5 some places)
Eastport bills replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
That spread is much too high. If you can get 10 1/2, jump on the Jets. My feeling is the final number will be closer to 71/2. Their receivers are pretty good, especially Wilson. Their defense gave us fits last time. White is also much better than Wilson. -
The Bills vs Bengals matchup will be must see entertainment. Imagine the hype for a possible number one seed/ bye for the winner. The game will be a high scoring affair with both teams going up and down the field. The Bengals have the best receivers in football and Mixon/Perrine are tough between the tackles pile movers. We have the Josh run/pass threat that is tough to defend, coupled with a suddenly real 2 headed running attack. The D-line will be crucial if we win. Immediate pressure on Joe Cool will be a must. Hopefully Miller will be back. Can’t’ wait.

Would Cole Beasley come back to Buffalo?
Eastport bills replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
What makes you an authority on proper behavior? Modern day pro athletes are all over social media. This guy was berated for not being Vaxed and not supported by the.coaches or management. Many players were not vaxed and were anonymous and treated as normal. Given the evolution of the virus and the vaccine’s inability to control transmission, people that were fired or demonized for their medical decisions, should be allowed to express their displeasure. He paid the ultimate price. -
Would Cole Beasley come back to Buffalo?

Yea, I agree but don’t you think it didn’t have to get so adversarial, where the guy couldn’t come back and was labeled a malcontent effectively ending his career. He left plenty of blood on the field and his teammates loved him. Cole was a gamer. He just can’t get out of his own way. -

You don’t have to announce you’re outta here: Just go.Since you’re big on stats, give the stats on catches for the slot guys who replaced Cole. Crowder, McKenzie, Shakir and Stevenson have half of Cole’s receptions combined through 12 games. Injuries aside, despite your profound analysis about his speed in decline, they didn’t want him running deeper routes. He was a 3rd down machine getting tough 1st downs. The conditions Cole dealt with as unvaccinated were very difficult and the team exposed him to fan alienation by making it public that he wasn’t a “team guy”. Whether he was the Cole of 2020 or even 2021, would you prefer him to the cast of characters we’re throwing out there? Probably not , you’re a true believer. -

I love organizational apologists especially when they apply their own slant on why decisions are made. When did a player’s reaction to being IRd determine the club’s choice to do it.?It’s all about production and medical clearance. My problem with Cole’s treatment was that he was demonized publicly for his reluctance to get vaccinated. Other players did it and it was kept under wraps and respected. True Cole’s reaction was an embarrassment and way over the top,but a productive player who was an integral part of the team has to be protected from himself. His time on our team and ultimately his career was brought to an end by the inability to manage this issue. -
Saffold wants to stay in Buffalo
Eastport bills replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
This guy has been a great addition. First he’s a road grader and is opening holes for backs that were viewed as pedestrian. He hasn’t allowed a sack which is hard to fathom. Finally, he loves being a Bills player. Bring Roger back because he’s locker room plus as well. -
I’m kind of Over the Hines Experiment
Eastport bills replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hines has to be used strategically. His skills are obvious if you watched him at Indy. He is a solid returner and should be effective in the safety valve dump off scenarios. He’s playing more each game and I see him getting more comfortable with his role. He will be a factor before it’s over. -
The Bills are transitioning into a balanced offense with an interior O-line that showed impressive run blocking ability and an explosive RB in Cook against a rugged run defense in NE. I have to believe Knox was intentionally used as a decoy to open up underneath throws to the backs and the receivers. Knox will get targets as Dorsey continues to overhaul the QB run offense that defenses adjusted to. Also if Dion can’t come back, TE will have to be in pass protection because the depth at LT can’t block the edge.

Agree he said some inflammatory, imbecilic things, but don’t confuse that with his toughness and ability. This guy was hurt all year and stiff caught .80 balls. Josh loved him as a security blanket and he fearlessly went over the middle and got knocked into next Tuesday. He’s got plenty left. By the way, what do you care about his silliness away from the field? -
Anyone that can’t see Edmunds incredible value and chemistry with Milano just has unfounded bias towards a rare talent that we must retain. His speed and physicality now has been combined with improved instincts and anticipation. This freak athlete is 24. Lock him up now.

Would Cole Beasley come back to Buffalo?
Eastport bills replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Unfortunately the 2021 mishandling of Beasley effectively ended Cole’s career, and it’s a damn shame. Cole’s polarizing stance on his personal medical autonomy ended his appeal for other franchises. He was injured and played through it last year and it affected his production. Josh loved him and trusted him and we weren’t able to replace him from within. Hopefully it doesn’t come back to haunt us. -
Would Cole Beasley come back to Buffalo?
Eastport bills replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m not comparing the two. Beasley was one of the best slot receivers in football, but he was sent packing for behavior unrelated to football and will not be coming back. My comment about McKenzie had to do with him being our best option for this season and maybe his game against Detroit would springboard his production going forward. Sure enough, he made some good plays last night.
