Do the Kansas City Chiefs deserve a bye week ?
Eastport bills replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ravens are a feisty outfit but I think beating Burrow without Lamar , fully healthy, is asking a lot. You’re absolutely right about Cinn. being a scary proposition thought. That has “shootout “ with the winner being the team with the last possession, written all over it. -
Do the Kansas City Chiefs deserve a bye week ?
Eastport bills replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
We should just move on and focus on getting them in the AFC championship game. It’s tough but our guy almost died and now is doing great and who says it’s an advantage getting the bye. Last year GB and Tenn lost after getting the bye. They came out flat as a pancake. We’re riding an emotional wave that is building every week. Let’s just knock off one team at a time in our place with our fans. I’d rather play the Bengals on an absolute roll as opposed to coming off a bye. -
This was a game where the officials decided not to call Pi’s or offensive holding. The game flowed better for the fans. I watched Seattle vs LA and the officiating absolutely decided the game on 2 or 3 hometown calls that the veteran official in the booth disagreed with immediately, without seeing a reply and then confirmed it after seeing the replay. So sad to end Detroit’s season that way.

Thoughts on the pass defense?
Eastport bills replied to Bermuda Triangle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Our pass defense is missing Hyde and a healthy Poyer. Johnson makes a lot of plays but Jackson/Elam give up receptions. Face it, if we want to get past LA, Cinn, KC, we will need Josh to pull 30plus out of this offense and play sound Special Teams. Winning the turnover battle would be crucial. The home field and playoff experience should help, but I see these games being close. -
Davis will be fine in the playoffs. Bottom line is he’s getting separation, he will make plays guaranteed. Brown is perfect for stretching the field and opening things up underneath.

NFL Week #18 - Patriots* @ Bills - Post Game Thread
Eastport bills replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Taron Johnson is one of the most disruptive, and difference making defensive backs in football. Given our weak corners across from White, he’s very important. Hopefully our front four plays like they played in the 2nd half. Josh will find a way to score so we just have to limit teams to FGs. -

I respect him for standing tough despite having the GM fired mid season and a beaten up roster. I can’t say I like anyone who is connected to NE. -

Why don’t you like him? Is it his Patriot connection? -

You have to be so impressed with Vrabel’s coaching job against a hot Jags team. The Titans have been dead men walking, losers of 6 in a row. They’re playing their 3rd string QB and their starting O-line are all done for the season. Their best receiver is Robert Woods, who was solid for us 10 yrs ago. Vrabel gets no help from ownership, as shown by the imbecilic trade of AJ Brown.. This is the guy teams should be lining up to poach. -
Win the Next 5 Games and We Have Our First Super Bowl
Eastport bills replied to ToGoGo's topic in The Stadium Wall
What a big, frustrating loss VM is. Just when we’re poised to do something special. Now we have to outscore these high powered offenses. The problem is, both Mahomes and Burrow have been good against the blitz, so our edge guys have to provide pressure. They have been good this season, but this is money time. -
Win the Next 5 Games and We Have Our First Super Bowl
Eastport bills replied to ToGoGo's topic in The Stadium Wall
This year’s success in the playoffs will in large part be determined by the performance of our secondary. White, Jackson, Elam and Benford will be responsible in coverage vs the Bengals big three and the Chiefs collection of talented and speedy wideouts. Throw in Hill and Waddle, who gave us fits last time, and we will be challenged. Johnson will be great, as usual but our safety opposite Poyer, Neal will have to come up big against the run as well as coverage.I know Josh will find a way no matter what , but our defense will have to step up against the best offenses in football. -
Kansas City Chiefs @ Las Vegas Raiders 1/7/23 4:30pm
Eastport bills replied to T&C's topic in The Stadium Wall
How can a team in a beautiful new stadium with a fan base that is incredibly loyal and rabid, be so awful. Their coaches are so bad that after 1 year it’s obvious they’re in over their head. I have seen some bad defensive secondaries but these guys are always far away from receivers. They managed to destroy a good QB with a scary bad O-line and poor, predictable play calling. Now they need a QB and Stidham is not the guy.. Their special teams coach who they elevated to HC last year was light years better than Josh McDaniels, who inexplicably keeps getting jobs. He might be a decent OC but he’s lost as a HC. -
Not saying we would have looked as inept as we did through 9 minutes, but they were attacking our weakness, the secondary. They have talented receivers, and a running game..With a fearless, accomplished QB, they’re a handful. They couldn’t stop us either so it might have come down to turnovers or keeping it close and getting the ball last.

My problem with the defense on the 1st two drives was Burrow had time to throw and our corners with Johnson in nickel, couldn’t cover these talented receivers. If we get them again, Sean and Frazier will have to mix in some zone and rush 3 or 4 tops on passing situations. We are not a team that slows receivers at the line and we cannot expect these corners to to handle man coverage on all of these top vertical threats, along with a pass catching Hurst at TE. Winning a shootout and or the turnover battle, seems like our best chance. This team is a tougher matchup than KC.

What Bengals & Chiefs fans are saying about the situation:
Eastport bills replied to BigDingus's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bengals fans incredibly classy and really objective, decent people. Chiefs fans not so much. Chiefs fans are desperate to get an advantage out of a tragedy. -
The game should not be resumed or rescheduled because there is no time to do it after week 17. The playoff teams are yet to be determined and week 18 starts in 4 days. The Bills and Bengals will have 16 game seasons. If all the teams win week 18, the Chiefs will be the 1 seed and the Bills will be number 2. Case closed. For the people that think the Bills are benefiting from the postponement of the Bengals contest, think of how soul crushing it will be to take the field with your brother fighting to survive. It’s just an incomprehensible tragedy that has never happened before. If Demar makes a full recovery, that would make any result this year acceptable.

MVP of the defense, and spiritual leader of the team. Pay him and clear a space on the ring of honor.

Daniel Jones receives standing ovation from Giants fans
Eastport bills replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
A great story and what a testimony to the impactful nature of a talented offensive HC. With a poor receiving corp and a below average O-line, Dabol sucked every oz of talent out of Jones and that roster. Now they must pay him and surround him with receivers and O-line pieces. -
Doesn’t matter who plays QB, Titans have quit on the playoffs. They know they can’t win any games. Both QBs aren’t ready to play meaningful games. How could they not have a solid veteran QB? Their GM showed his mettle when he gave AJ Brown away and made the Eagles a SB candidate. Do the Eagles have some compromising pictures of the Titans GM or are they just paying him. When Woods is your go to receiver, how can you expect to win.

The Phins; from 8-3 to 8-8. An epic collapse
Eastport bills replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
The problem is that Tua, who they spent a number 1 pick on, is a flawed QB. His concussion history will probably lead to his retirement. Their defense also was not as good as advertised. Couldn’t happen to a nicer fan base. -
What song gets you pumped up for Bills football?
Eastport bills replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall
The song that gets me pumped for Bills football is “Brothers in Arms” by Dire Straits. -
They have many needs and If they don’t get their franchise QB this year, this being a bad year for QBs coming out, they might as well turn Tunsil into 2 or 3 draft choices. It’s all about rebuilding and putting yourself in a position to get either weapons or the big QB. Not that I care one way or the other, but why keep a valuable O-lineman over multiple picks on a 2 win team.
