This type of game will cause ulcers, heart palpitations and visions of deep frustration for 8 months. I drank 3 scotches and I only drink beers gameday.

I read the posts and I’m so impressed with the objectivity on this board. The least we can do is give these guys credit when it’s deserved.
-
Read the reaction on this board to his performance and then look in the mirror and ask yourself why you’re hanging on to this hate. This guy is a great player whether you’re willing to admit or not. Keep going with this oblivious review of good play and you’ll lose all credibility.
-
What’s the reason for your disproportionate criticism and delusional perception of his game. Just know you’re in the vast minority of objective observers with your opinion. He’s not going anywhere.

Edmunds is a game changing, heat seeking missile. I love his motor, his speed and his incredible length. His physicality is infectious and coupled with Milano he protects the middle of the field so that our secondary can focus on deeper routes. Edmunds had a great game.

Bills/Dolphins Wild Card pre-game thread
Eastport bills replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just don’t give this undermanned group a reason to believe by turnovers or silly penalties. Let’s get up on them early and keep adding on. Confuse and pressure this kid at QB , and let’s keep Hill and Waddle in front of coverage. Just get these guys out of the way and move on. -
BROCK PURDY: for real or fools gold ?
Eastport bills replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Purdy is the player that has the perfect offensive structure allowing him to succeed. He’s got an innovative play caller that has been successful with other QBs. His O-line and skill players are arguably the best in the NFL. Have you noticed that he sits back there and crossers are running wide open and they have the speed to create big chunk plays from 15 yard underneath throws. Deebo, McCaffrey, Ayuk, Kittle and that O-line along with Shannahan make Purdy a mobile ,weak arm QB who throws behind most receivers, someone who can win a SB. A great defense doesn’t hurt either. -
Wow…Sammy Watkins statement on Lamar 😬😳🥶🤦🏼♂️
Eastport bills replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sammy’s just frustrated that Lamar isn’t playing. The Ravens defense will keep the Bengals in check but these backups can’t put pts on the board. The bottom line is Lamar missed the bulk of the last 2 seasons. This year he’s out 6 weeks with a knee sprain, and won’t suit up for the playoffs. The Ravens were right to wait on giving him Mahomes,Allen or Kyler money, but the kid has the ability to wreck their season. I like Lamar but a good GM would trade him for a boatload of draft choices. He’s injury prone and a QBs biggest asset is his availability. -

Do you think CBS will pull Romo and Nantz off Bills-Fins?
Eastport bills replied to Dan Darragh's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nantz and Romo are the top team on CBS and they’re well aware Buffalo is ratings gold for the foreseeable future. They have no choice but to cozy up to the Bills players and fan base just like they did with Brady and the Pats. It’s just good business. -
Tua ruled out vs Buffalo, Skylar Thompson expected to start
Eastport bills replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I feel for Tua. He’s a great kid and now he’s got this concussion history hanging over him. I know it’s a serious problem to have and he has to be protected from exacerbating the condition but Tua’s a gamer and now the question for Miami is can you entrust your franchise to someone, although talented, could be out of football with one more serious event. Very sad. -
Steelers radio debates signing Tremaine Edmunds
Eastport bills replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Edmunds took his rookie contract, as many players do, to become a pro bowl LB. He plays every down and calls the defensive signals. He plays through injury and now has started to put his imprint on wins with more instinctual impactful playmaking. I know our cap flexibility is thin but at 24, he’s got 6 to 8 years of game changing production. He must be retained. -
Why are you still pounding the table about surrounding Josh with better weapons? Everyone knows they over valued Davis off of his career game against KC. They need a number 2, they need a guard and center in the draft and a another TE. Who disagrees with this? Are you questioning the acquisitions of VM? Are you questioning replacing Harrison Phillips on the cheap or Jerry Hughes with Lawson. Dequan Jones is having a great year. I think we have enough weapons with the additions( Hines, Cole and Smoke) to score 30plus in the playoffs. If we can win the turnover battle and stop some red zone drives with FGs, we have as good a chance as anyone.

Bills WR Route Concepts in Our Offense
Eastport bills replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
McKenzie has regressed and has become undependable on slants. Davis gets targets underneath but has struggled with drops. We’re doing check downs with Motor and Cook that are getting good 1st and 2nd down yardage. I would expect more Hines and Cook flares and underneath crossers in the playoffs along with Knox stretching the defense against LBs. If Davis steps it up and Cole gets more targets we’ll be really hard to defend. Remember these teams have to use safeties as spies to defend Josh runs. His off schedule throws when he’s flushed can get us 2 or 3 chunk plays like the Smoke and Diggs TDs. -
So the big number spent on defense was Miller, who’s cap hit is 19million. The other large numbers are Tre White, Hyde, Milano. Dequan Johnson was an off-season addition along with Settle. These additions were crucial to our run defense and front four rotation . Miller was the big add because they thought he would put us over the top. We’re you against the signing? Josh,Stef,Dion ,and Morse represent 85 million.

How do you figure the defensive domination strategy didn’t work? Despite whiffing on Elam, and not adequately replacing Wallace, we were a top 5 defense in pts allowed and yardage. We were 13 and 3, which equaled the best record in the NFL and in 2 of our losses, the offense didn’t show up and had critical turnovers. The point I’m making is without better depth in the secondary we can’t defend KC or Cinn. If you want to depend on winning shootouts with these teams for the next 7 or 8 years fasten your seatbelt. When Brady was winning SBs , Gilmore, Ty Law, McCourty, Malloy we’re dominating the best teams. We can win a lot of games with decent depth, but to finally win it all, that area is our weakness. That’s why, without VM and our secondary, we won’t be favored against KC.
-
Understood, in whatever order those 3 positions must be addressed. Don’t diminish those defensive positions. The only thing that can stop us this year is giving up easy chunk plays like the Bengals laid on us Monday night. We have a quality D-line, LBs and bad depth in the secondary. A couple of key additions and we could have defensive domination against KC and Cinn. That how the Patriots did it for 2 decades.
-
My question is whether Gabe can right the ship when the real season starts? Last year and in his rookie season he put together some great games. He’s had some disappointing drops but he gets separation and Josh obviously trusts him because he got 10 targets yesterday. I’m holding out hope for this guy. We need him.

The biggest attribute of a good NFL player is availability. Phillips is a warrior but he can’t stay on the field. He was a no show with Arizona for much of his time there. Just take the week and see if you can play in the division game.

The beautiful thing is FAs will be lining up to play with us. We will be a force for the foreseeable future. We might also get a big time guy in a receiver heavy draft.
