Anyone who didn’t recognize that we are a soft defense is not being realistic. First, Poyer and White were awful. It pains me to say that but White couldn’t cover and Poyer couldn’t tackle. Now Poyer has been hurt and White is coming back from an ACL but they should be better out there. The D.line was pushed around and other than Milano, Edmunds and Rousseau we were embarrassing. We need better D-lineman and a better secondary. Dorsey wasn’t to good either.

Travis Kelce... is open on every play
Eastport bills replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have enough offense without Reid’s “Kelce” playbook. What we need is Edmunds or Poyer to shadow him and contest every 7 to 10 yd pass, and then rally to tackle him immediately. If you neutralize Mahomes security blanket, you take a lot of their offense away. The problem then is playing run defense against those 2 explosive backs. The pass rush has to make it harder for him to move in the pocket until someone gets open. This is on Sean and Frazier to keep the Chiefs in the low 20s. I don’t think they can outscore us because we’ll be high 20s., to 30s. Let’s beat the Bengals first. They will be tough on our defense. -
Joe Cool is the darling of these knee jerk goof balls. The fact he beat KC twice doesn’t hurt either. Bottom line, we got him in our place where it’s time to end there season and make a statement that will stick. Let’s let this competition get sorted out on the field. The 12th man must make their imprint on the game. Let’s see what a real Homefield Advantage looks like.

Why would the Bills allow this 1st year OC to interview for an HC job this weekend. Shame on Beane and Sean. Usually these guys have to prepare for these interviews and take away from the hyper focus vital for this game. Why give Josh the slightest doubt about his commitment. If the Bills lose they should rethink the whole process. Why doesn’t the NFL make playoff teams untouchable for coaching interviews? It ruins the product.

Florio: Brady to the Dolphins "Definitely on the Table"
Eastport bills replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall
Brady unfortunately is not worth turning your franchise over to. Any objective observer could see he is a statue who doesn’t want to get hit anymore. His performance in the Dallas game was a sad indication that he’s shot. Of course, that doesn’t mean he couldn’t get close to a playoff birth in the right division, if the supporting cast was above average. What’s the point though? Every year he tempts fate with the probability of serious injury. He prioritized this flawed Tampa team, with no chance to go anywhere, over family, legacy, and paid the ultimate price. His pursuit of, who knows what, is getting tiresome. -
This will be the test to determine Frazier’s value as a coach. You have a weakness on the O-line so how do you exploit it. Do you try and send extra rushers or use more people in coverage. I’m predicting we shut down their run game and make Burrow an underneath thrower. If we hold them under 24, I like our chances.

Very good write-up on Josh Allen and the Bills this postseason
Eastport bills replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe I’m a little defensive because all of a sudden I hear shock jocks on sports media calling the guy a turnover machine. You make good reasonable points but remember part of Josh’s greatness is when he smells blood he gets more aggressive not safely, painstakingly, plodding down the field on 12 play drives. Now,especially with Davis becoming “Big Game Gabe” he will be looking for chunk plays. Having said that, he must be more focused on ball security in the pocket and when he’s flushed. Those giveaways can’t happen against our next opponents. -
I don’t live in the area so I’m not familiar with Murphy’s work. I just think it would thoughtful of the local listeners to let the guy recover before asking for his replacement . The guy has been there forever and after he leaves due to a life threatening event, the buzzards start flying around. You did preface the call for his ouster by saying you hope for the best with his health, so I guess feel free to say anything.

Very good write-up on Josh Allen and the Bills this postseason
Eastport bills replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Always could have been more efficient, smarter, check down more. For 2 decades we couldn’t get out of our own way. Finally we are winning divisions, achieving the home field thru the playoffs, beating the best teams in the conference and our record setting QB must “take the next step in smart QB play “. Only 8 WINS in a row. This is why most QBs don’t own turnovers. It’s always “we have to play better “, not Josh. On two picks, both should have been either caught (Beasley) or knocked down (Smoke), Josh took full responsibility. That left short fields and Miami took advantage. How many “smart” QBs throw for 3 TDs and 354 yds, scoring 34. We’re playing the divisional rd at home, favored by 5 against the hottest team in football. Why would Vegas think a team with a QB that” needs to take the next step in smart QB play “ could win against the Bengals? -
Season end, how good are the Bills really?
Eastport bills replied to Comebackkid's topic in The Stadium Wall
You play who’s on the schedule. It’s hard to win a game in the NFL. You’re judged by w/l record. How can you quantify a team’s excellence by examining the records after the season. Injuries and unexpected performance based on matchups always have to be factored in. -
Josh played much too aggressively after getting the big lead. The untimely picks, giving Miami short fields, was the result. This is the best thing that could have happened. He’s not only the most physically talented QB in football but he’s smart and coachable. I guarantee he will look for better options with his throws and prioritize ball security in the pocket and on QB runs. He will still take vertical shots down the field to keep the coverage honest but I can see more slot receiver, TE underneath throws and flares and check downs to backs. We are about to see our best version of this offense.

Very good write-up on Josh Allen and the Bills this postseason
Eastport bills replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love these empty suits who come out of the woodwork to criticize Josh for being prone to mistakes after a couple of picks that were really avoidable if Smoke and Beasley made plays on the ball. The strip sack was on him and he owned it as he always does. The anti-Bills sentiment gets expressed in picking apart Josh’s penchant for throwing the ball downfield to much. Do we remember all the QBs the last 2 decades that average 7 or 8 yds an attempt. The thing that gets overlooked is that Josh puts up huge numbers and always finds a way to win. He plays down to the level of lesser teams sometimes,(Jets,Vikes,Dolphins)and rises to the challenge of good teams(LA,KC,Balt,Tenn, Detroit, NE) Pick against him at your own peril. The rest of the schedule are the best teams. -
Difference in O-Line Year over Year
Eastport bills replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
I guess scoring 34 and throwing for 350 is struggling. I think every team in the playoffs would sign for that. We had 2 unlucky giveaways and now after 8 straight wins, the Dolphins rushing 5,6 and 7 guys put pressure on Josh and our O-line stinks. Half those sacks were Josh tucking it and getting tackled behind the line. Bottom line, when he got flushed he found open receivers for big chunk plays. Ask yourself if Josh didn’t throw the 2picks(both could have easily been avoided by receivers making plays on the ball) what would the final score be? It can always be better, but this team finds away. -
Shaq every day of the week. He’s making plays in the run game and he’s always around the QB.

Josh Allen Bashers, what's your solution?
Eastport bills replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sorry, jumped the gun. I didn’t realize you were responding to some delusional posters. My apologies. -
Well said. I guess it’s tough to take a strong position and be objective and open enough to changing your opinion when you see a player develop into a real asset.
-
Just the way it should be. If you want go all the way, beat the best. We earned home field and this is the time for the 12th man to show up. The crowd must put their imprint on this game. This will be our line in the sand game. Big game Gabe flipped the switch on Sunday and Beasley is back in the slot. Who knows maybe Micah might even show up. Let’s overwhelm that revamped Bengal O-line and place Joe Cool on his derrière.it’s as simple as this, if we play a clean game, without giveaways, no one beats us.

Josh Allen Bashers, what's your solution?
Eastport bills replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t embarrass yourself with these silly posts. “Its time to get Keenum and Barkley ready to go for next week because they RESPECT BALL SECURITY “ You’re just a pathetic, frustrated Bears fan who gets some sick pleasure out of trolling a winning board. Try and absorb this, Josh had a couple of picks, one being a tip that was right in Beasley’s chest and the other a ball that Smoke never made an attempt on. The strip sack was on him and he owned it. More importantly, after the strip sack and score, how did Josh respond? Two TD drives with a perfect pass to Davis. Long story short ChicagoDick, Bills advance to Divisional rd,at home after their 8th straight win. Try and restrict your comment to weather conditions or tailgating. -
Please don’t complain about missed calls. How many delay of game calls did they miss or the missed holding call on Beasley’s tipped pick. It all evens out.
-
Did you watch the game? Beasley TD was a bubble screen and how many checkdown passes does Josh throw in all the games. That’s our RB screen. We get our TE down the field. Our offense wasn’t the problem (34 pts and over 350 passing with 3 TDs and a 54 yd drop. We had 3 giveaways and that made it close.
-
The game turned on some freak interceptions and poor coverage of the returns along with a great blitz call that got into Josh’s ball security. We showed toughness in coming back and great tenacity on defense when it mattered. What you’re missing is this is a division opponent, seeing us for the 3rd time and they got some unlikely giveaways. They played us tough the 1st 2 times. Don’t be misled by the point spread. When you have 3 turnovers, that usually means defeat.

Season end, how good are the Bills really?
Eastport bills replied to Comebackkid's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t overthink the quality of wins. A team has to come in to our place and win with our crowd and Josh starting to dial it up with the vertical game . Forget what made this game closer than it should have been. The interceptions were on plays that should have been receptions. The strip was on a great blitz call that killed us. Josh will learn from this and have better ball security. I think this game will benefit us and any team that comes in here will have to score 30 without benefit of some unlikely giveaways. I like our chances.
