Falcons cut Eli Ankou: OFFICIAL Signed to Bills PS
Eastport bills replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Based on the fact that Beane has traded once in the Josh Allen era at the trade deadline.(Zach Moss and a 5th rounder for Nyhiem Hines). Hines was a good return but hardly got touches. We have been decimated on the defensive side by injuries, not to mention we have zero return game. History tells us Beane will wait until the off-season to do anything to improve the team. He has a bloated cap and he’s conservative with trading draft capital. -
Falcons cut Eli Ankou: OFFICIAL Signed to Bills PS

Eli Ankou,Josh Norman, Ty Johnson are the players we didn’t want anymore. Why, at a time when this team is in turmoil and searching for answers, do we bring them back. Beane only wants to dumpster dive for street guys who have been passed over by other teams. Beane has had some nice drafts and some expensive FA signings, but if we’re depending on him bringing in someone to give us an infusion of positive energy, I can’t see it. He’s not a wartime consigliere. -

Again, our GM is in the bathroom planning next years draft options. Wake me up when this empty suit brings in something to help our defense. -

He misses a few more FGs that crush us, you won’t use any wind excuses. Previous seasons he’s been great. This is the life of a kicker. No matter his history, he can’t lose you a game. -
Why I’m changing my mind on some things

I’m glad you’re done because you haven’t made a reasonable argument for a vague criticism of our best player. When pushed, you responded with the 3 bad throws argument and then going back to the bad Jets game. “There’s something going on with Josh”. You deserve the mediocrity of the last 21/2 decades, hoping and praying for a great QB. I’m embarrassed for you. -

First, the fact he says he has to be better is not an indictment of his play but more deflecting blame away from teammates and coaches. It’s called leadership. Of course he says they have to be better because of the 2 losses. Let’s examine my criticism of the coaches. Dorsey is in his 2nd season . He’s proved nothing and has been roundly panned for poor play calling. This is a direct reflection on Josh’s play and the fact that we have these poor starts. Sean, a defensive coach has a defense that gave up 2 long drives, with the game on the line, to Mac Jones, who has averaged 12 points a game. If he can’t the players to tackle, what good is he. Yes, the kicker has missed 3 important FGs the last 2weeks. That reflects on Josh’s play. All the fouls on defense by our cornerbacks, that makes stopping teams kind of difficult. These backups and Kickers and coaches have this team struggling, but Josh gives us a chance every week. -

What is your obsession with these anti-Josh comments? First it’s 3 bad throws, then you go back to the slow starts but you admit that he put us in a position to win. No he’s perfect, but he’s one of the best QBs in football and with the profound weaknesses on this team and it’s coaching staff, why come out and say there’s something going on with our all-pro QB. Let’s leave it there. -

Okay, you want to complain about the pick on his first throw, fine , the Diggs overthrow was 70 yds in the air, running for his life and the Davis miss he was putting it where only Davis could get it avoiding a turnover. How about the 50 yd laser that Diggs dropped on the last drive with 12seconds left. How many QBs make that throw that would have resulted in 47 yd attempt to tie the game. How about the 2 surgical drives for TDs and the conversion when we needed it most. You’re complaining about 3 throws with this guy. DoesMahomes overthrow open guys? Does Hurts throw bad interceptions(at Jets) Does Burrow look like crap for games at a time. You neglected to mention Josh had shoulder issues that would have shelved guys(Watson) for a few games. When you say he’s missing something, it’s the NFL. With QBs, they will make mistake but does this guy put us in a position to win mostly? -

The other kicker had zero problems. They don’t ask why with kickers, it’s makes and misses. -

The reason I say he’s a great person is because he takes responsibility for losses and insulates teammates and coaches from criticism. He never shows up a teammate for a damaging play and his teammates love and respect him. I don’t take you seriously because vague accusations without specific references to issues hurting the team is frivolous crap. Please don’t compare OJ to Bruce Smith or Josh. How many divisions did they win with OJ? What was there composite record with him? When you boldly say “something is missing “, knowing the embarrassment that is our defense, offensive coaches and flurry of devastating injuries, it reflects the knee jerk scorched earth reaction to losses on this forum. It’s silly. -

Was Josh the problem yesterday when he put the team on his back and put together 2 great drives to take the lead with under 2 minutes left? Was Josh the problem when the defense gave up 3 straight drives for TD against Jax. Josh was the problem in game one, but he’s not the only guy that’s struggled against the Jets defense. Put a better OC and a better defensive performance out there and he’s not the problem. -

What are you his grandson? You don’t know anything about me. I’m sure I ‘ve been a Bills fan just as long as your grandpa, but that doesn’t matter. You guys are the analytical whiners that take our QB for granted. Maybe you enjoyed the suffering prior to Josh. Don’t talk about respect. Is your grandpa respecting the best player in Bills history and a great person as well. -

I would take you seriously but you gloss over 2 decades of low grade QB play and no playoffs. 4 division titles and generally regarded as a top 4 or 5 QB with the highest completion % in football. He’s hamstrung by a poor set of coaches and a decimated defense. What are you looking for? See if you can alienate the best player we’ve had in club history. You people come out of the woodwork after losses. -

Hey old man fan, you’re looking for things that aren’t there. This defense sucks, they’re not clutch and tell me they played good enough to beat 2 one and 5 teams because the G-Men should have won. Maybe look at the amateurish OC who calls the same predictable plays and Josh pulls TDs out of his ass. Tell me about a clueless defensive HC that adds zero to the offense and now his defense sucks. Tell me about a GM that provides nothing when we lose our return man and best corner. KC would have brought in 2 viable replacements. Say what you want, Josh is not blind. Would you blame if he sees a great rookie TE not getting targeted till game seven, or Cook whose a rising star getting minimal touches until the 2nd half. Shakir, Knox, Harty are invisible. Is this because Josh is different. Keep saying silly things and watch the guy bolt before his next contract. Any kind of a good PK and we win yesterday. -

Josh looked disinterested? The reaction to losses is laughable on this forum. What I saw was a bad throw that after the Patriots took the opening kick and easily drove methodically to an opening FG, put us in a hole with a passive defense allowing a TD. This guy takes damaging self inflicted wounds to heart and being human, looked deflated by it. He came back and led a nice drive that stalled for a FG. His play in the 4th quarter was heroic and after our gutless, amateurish defense allowed time consuming drives to a team that’s averaging 12 points a game, he lead two precision drives that should have been enough. After the go ahead TD, he went up and down the bench pumping up the defense. What are you professional sports psychologists reading into with this guy. This is a below average defensive roster after the injuries, that is not dominant any more. Without Josh, you’re looking at the same slop we trotted out for 2 decades and now after a couple of losses you’re convinced he’s changed. Leading the league in completion percentage, throwing for top 5 in TDs and overcoming an OC that is so pathetically predictable that is solely responsible for the slow starts. That game should have been a W and we should be asking Sean why we allowed a 3rd string TE to have a couple of 40 yd gains when 3 guys missed tackles and our defense seemed a step slow and confused. -
If you are the owner and you decide to get rid of one
Eastport bills replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you get rid of Beane, Sean is deadman walking. A new GM would want his own guy. The book is still out on Beane, I would give Sean the year and if he couldn’t get to a conference final , part company. This team needs an offensive HC with a new OC. -
Bring back the K-Gun and the hurry up offense
Eastport bills replied to GoBills!'s topic in The Stadium Wall
This is the perfect QB and and offensive personnel to run the no huddle. The problem is Sean is old school, defensive. minded HC, who wants to control the ball and play solid defense. Sadly the team has been decimated by injuries on the defense and now we have to outscore the opposition in high scoring games. -
The Bills as a team look like they’re struggling to get off to good starts on offense and on defense they are giving up yardage on the ground and they look confused in coverage. Throw in, bad fundamentals in tackling and a kicker that’s missing makeable kicks and you have real problems. This is a Sean issue and it must be corrected fast. The good news is Josh is our QB and we should score enough points, but against KC, Cinn, Philly, Dallas our personnel may not be good enough to get enough stops.

At this age , after ACL repair, he might be getting paranoid about going full speed. Let’s give him a few more games , but if he can’t produce, he’s taking up a lot of cap space.
-
Kincaid got his targets. At least we spread it around and I expect he’ll get more next game when they try to defend Kincaid.
-
Kincaid will be great and it took 7 games to get him the ball. Better late than never. Shakir was productive also. Knox drops too many for my taste. Cook is amazing and will be a major factor. I think Bills fans should get ready for lots of games like this. We aren’t stopping the run with these tackles and when we needed pressure, zero. I guess when you lose a good tackle, who was playing at a high level, your best defensive player(Milano) and your shut down corner who’s a sure tackler, you should expect to take a few steps backwards.
