Can’t blame Sean for Houston, Bills sucked that game. Josh was uncharacteristically bad on that last series. Then their kicker makes a 60 yd FG. At some point you have to blame the players. LA was a combination of bad coaching decisions, especially the TO at the goal line, and really bad defense. Still, KC lost one game and we lost 3. If someone said we lose 3 all year with our schedule, you’d be giddy. Sean is a good coach and the record says it all, but he has been unreliable in the biggest moments for a while.

Great point, but these high level QBs have to point the finger at someone if they miss the playoffs. He had MVP #s in passing and TDs but Joe Cool doesn’t talk about his inexplicable September record the last 4 seasons which means he comes out of training camp unprepared and mentally soft. Take a look in the mirror Joe. You lost to NE opening day at home. Inexcusable

There is such a groundswell of support by an anti Josh faction of Lamar Jackson butt boys , that they’re actually trying to make it a 50/50 proposition for MVP voters. First, Josh took an obvious rebuilding offensive unit and made them a SB contender. He did it without a #1 or #2 receiver and achieved a better record than Lamar vs the toughest schedule in the league. He’ll have the most TDs combined running and passing and did all this with a pedestrian defense. Lamar has 2 MVPs and the clueless sports talk blowhards want to stiff the most heroic, balls to the wall performances in league history. Ridiculous

Greg Gumbel RIP- Sorry had Bryant's name on this first.

Just a real hard working, likable guy that loved what he was doing. I thought his play by play was top notch and he always brought out the best in his color partners. He did his best work as studio host for the NFL and college basketball. He had a long distinguished career and I was a fan. -
I respect Sean and I believe he creates a winning culture and the players give maximum effort. Unfortunately he comes from the defensive side of the ball and our defense continues to be the weakest unit especially come playoff time. Now the question is if Sean’s strength is not complimentary in supporting Josh and our arguably top 5 offense, why keep him. His game day decisions are not impressive and his personnel choices have been less than stellar(Elam, Miller, Jones, Phillips, Jefferson, Spector) Even Epenesa, Milano are not making enough difference making plays. If Sean loses to Baltimore in the divisional round or KC in the Conference Championship, Bills fan should demand a change.

CJ Stroud's uncontrollable crying.....
Eastport bills replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
These guys are just people like the unwashed masses that live and die with their team results. The only difference is QBs demand a hundred million over the course of their career if they get a second contract. They will walk away from any fanbase and not look back if another team offers more money, no matter how much a community embraces their family. Why is it not allowed to criticize the leader and face of the franchise when he implodes after being totally demoralized by his teammates injury. So he is prioritizing his personal feelings over his team’s fortunes and the fanbase whose emotional and financial investment in the team is enormous. -
CJ Stroud's uncontrollable crying.....

Hamlin was medically dead for a short period of time and that game was suspended. The entire stadium was in a state of stunned amazement and shock. No one was able to continue. Dell’s was a season ending knee injury. I understand he was upset but these injuries happen every week to players. Stroud couldn’t play after that and couldn’t play yesterday. If your leader cannot rally the troops after a bad injury, the other young guys will throw in the towel, which is what the Texans are doing. That was only a knock on his leadership skills not the basis of my overall assessment. -

Maybe his success was a negative for him. Sometimes young players start listening to the glowing evaluations of the talking heads and stop working to improve. Josh didn’t have a great rookie season and went to work with QB coaches(Palmer) in the offseason and dedicated himself to improving. It didn’t hurt that he was really and genuinely talented. -
CJ Stroud's uncontrollable crying.....

I understand you want to give young guys some latitude, especially high 1st round draft picks, but this guy shows poor judgment and his accuracy, which was special last season, is gone. Throw in an episode where he is inconsolable after watching a teammate go down with an injury, and plays the rest of the game like he’s checked out. To me, you don’t move on from him, but he has dropped in the pecking order of young QBs and really put a big ? on the Offensive Coordinator. -
CJ Stroud's uncontrollable crying.....

CJ was a one year illusion that crashed and burned after defensive coordinators watched him on film. All of a sudden he’s not accurate, takes bad sacks and is so emotionally ill equipped to be an NFL QB, that he’s not capable of winning against good teams. -
Ravens/Texans, Christmas Day Game 2 (no Bills talk please)

Maybe Stroud just needs to have good cry to enable him to complete some passes. -

I was hoping we wouldn’t have to play them both. I guess that’s not happening. -

I hope you’re right and Houston is making them look better than they are. I just keep thinking about Henry sprinting to the end zone against us. -

The only difference is Denver and the Chargers don’t have anyone like the Henry/ Lamar combo. -

Watching the Ravens just methodically march down the field is very scary for a Bills fan. They are the biggest obstacle for Buffalo. Stopping Henry and Lamar without leaving wide open TEs and Flowers + Bateman seem like a tall order. They’ll have problems with our offense of course and playing in our building is big but this matchup is not ideal. -
The Chiefs looked great against a team that is deadmen walking. TJ Watt is obviously hurt because he gets no pressure and is shaking his thumb all game. Pittsburgh secondary is worse than ours and Russell Wilson has no feel for the rush. They had a good season but they will not win anymore games. Pickens is a good receiver but could you imagine a head case like him on a week to week basis. Cam Heyward got hurt and Mike Tomlin had a terrible game. He missed a clear challenge on a dropped ball and basically threw in the towel in the 4th quarter. I guess having a winning season is the most imprtant thing for Mike.

Sadly, even if he contributes to winning playoff games, he probably will want Diggs/ AJ. Brown/ Hill, money and good luck to any team that pays that. If his agent is paying attention,by signing a team friendly one or two year deal, his client will increase his value for his last contract because Josh makes everyone better. He’s able to fit throws in smaller windows and separation is not paramount. Look at what he did for Diggs career.
-
Cooper does not have #1 separation or the vertical threat he once had. That coupled with a case of the dropsies that can rear its ugly head periodically makes it hard for Josh to have the trust necessary for Coop to get many targets. I’m holding out hope that he emerges in the playoffs and looks to dominate and be a real factor.

Just re watched yesterday's pats game
Eastport bills replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
Shakir makes that over the head catch most of the times because he catches everything. Just a Bills team sleepwalking through their 1st home game after a tough stretch of tough opponents and playing down to their competition. I expect more of the same the next 2 weeks along with resting dinged up starters. If KC beats Pittsburgh you’ll see a going through the motions effort to just get a win against a really depleted Jets team. -
My take: If KC beats Pittsburgh on Wednesday…
Eastport bills replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills need 1 more if Ravens win on Wednesday or else we have to play Baltimore in their place if we end up with the same record. The last week will be our bye. -
Controversial opinion: Elam was pretty solid
Eastport bills replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
We can’t win with him playing like he did tonight. He doesn’t get his head around and that’s getting called every time. He’s all over the receivers tugging and holding even if the ball has no chance of being caught. It’s been 3 years and it’s like he just came into the league. This coaching staff can’t get through to him, because he’s a physical guy who can run. -
Elam can set the record for PIs if we play him another game. Does anyone coach him? He refuses to get his head around ever. He’s also as handsy as a horny high school kid on viagra. The good news is Dorian Williams should be playing over Spector or Milano.

CJ Stroud's uncontrollable crying.....
Eastport bills replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s to warm and cuddly for this kind of viscous, seek and destroy mission that describes the NFL mindset. I know great leaders are invested in their teammates but after the tragic injury to Dell, Stroud lost his composure and compromised his teammates. Between 2 delay of game penalties and 2 bad picks, Stroud effectively served up the game to KC. Maybe he’ll grow to understand, injuries are really difficult for teammates but the QB must project a calm and an ability to weather the storm. -
With the offense operating at a prolific level, who cares where Cooper is. Josh is finding wide open RBs and TEs so defenses will have so much to think about and Coop and Coleman will probably get a bunch of single coverage going forward. With the threat of Josh taking off how do you defend this team?
