That Oprah is the new darling of the Left in terms of a potential Presidential candidate is quite telling. They have NO bench. The viable talent within the Democrat party is paltry. There are no heavyweights on that side of the isle. All they can do is reeeeeeeeach deep into their bag of identity-politics stereotypes for any possible candidate that can walk and chew gum simultaneously.

I was driving and heard Trump speak from the Cabinet room where he’s corralled the House and Senate reps from both sides for preliminary talks on immigration. A lot of the participants on both sides spoke about what they want to see come out of this. At the end Trump said something to the effect that “maybe we should go back to using earmarks”. He said that was a time when people from both sides of the aisle would form real friendship, and go out to dinner together. There was comity then and not this bitterness and hateful divide that is so appalling. Thought it was an interesting observation.

Facing bankruptcy that’s driven by medical bills from a catastrophic event or events is no trivial matter. I have a lot of compassion for people funneled into such situations. It’s more than likely not their “fault”. But it certainly sucks.
