Interesting Eric Moulds stat
Buffalo4Life01 replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Moulds and Lee Evans were both bright spots for us during those drought years. And both were criminally underrated in my opinion. -
Your thoughts on the Bills offseason so far
Buffalo4Life01 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think we won the offseason again! -
I don't have a fascination with wanting to have a 'name' receiver'. I don't think anyone on this board does either. It's a desire to have a much better receiving group than what we have now, especially one with more speed and ability to separate. If people think the receiving weapons we have now are going to keep defensive coordinators up at night, I don't know what to tell you....
-
Exactly! And no one is bringing up the handful of awful overthrows by Allen to Kincaid including the one that led to Dalton getting hurt on what should have been a walk in touchdown (he was wide open).
-
If we go into the season with only our current crop of wr's we are absolutely banking on HUGE progress being made by Coleman and Kincaid. Also, availability all season long. Imagine if Shakir misses extended time? I just can't fathom Buffalo not pulling off a trade or drafting a wr 2nd or 3rd round that they believe can come in and contribute immediately.
-
This is a really simple topic and something I just wanted to throw out there to see how everyone is feeling regarding the current crop of weapons Allen has to distribute the ball to this season. How are we feeling with Shakir, Coleman, Palmer, and Curtis Samuel as Allen's wide receivers heading into the season? Feesl a tad underwhelming to me even if we also factor in Kincaid and Knox. Does anyone think Buffalo is planning on drafting a wr early or trading for one or is this group most likely what we have to work with this season?
-
Anyone think we trade up into the 1st round to go after a CB or DT or do you see Beane staying put this year? I certainly don't see us trading back this time...

and a starting cb #2
-
Everyone relax. Dane is being brought in to provide depth at the cb position. He knows the system in Buffalo and is an upgrade over Elam. For those saying he couldn't crack a starting spot in Carolina, he started off the season on injured reserve and that really derailed any momentum he certainly would have had going into the season. It's a solid depth signing at a position of need. It doesn't stop the need for cb #2 but it does give some reassurance that he is capable of stepping into that role during the season if the need arises.
-
He has most certainly lost a step but you can absolutely do a lot worse at receiver than Amari Cooper. I 100% believe he played through injuries last season that really hampered him and slowed him down. I'd love to see him brought back on a reasonable contract.
-
Look, I like him. I really do. But I'm not paying him top 5-10 cb money. He's not in that tier in my opinion.
-
I really like Benford. He's not flashy and doesn't get you with splash plays but he is super reliable and always dependable. However, I don't think I'd call him a top 5 to 10 corner though. I can see him in the 15-25 range. He's quite good, but not great. Just my humble opinion. Go Bills!!

Again, no one is saying Allen doesn't have decent weapons around him. But since he entered the league he has been constantly scrutinized due to narratives that simply refuse to go away and we all know what I'm talking about. Also, does anyone here really not believe Allen would have just as many rings as Mahomes does if he played for KC? Anyone really think Mahomes would have a ring if he played in Buffalo instead of Allen? Coaching, clock management, and game management have proven a huge advantage for Patty over the course of his career, luxuries that Allen has never been afforded. I don't think either is more clutch than the other. I think Mahomes has had more talent 'on average' than Josh has for most of his career and the coaching he's had has been lightyears better.
-
After 13 seconds no one should question Allen's clutchness again either. It absolutely should work both ways. It feels like in order to play even better in the bigger moments, he's just going to have to block for himself, catch his own passes, and score every touchdown. Heavy is the head who wears the crown 100%...
-
Was Mahomes clutch in the AFC Championship game? I mean he DID get the win, but he also only drove his team down for what ended up being a game deciding FIELD GOAL and left Buffalo loads of time on the clock to go down and win the game. He failed to get his team into the end zone, taking a bad sack and throwing back to back incompletions before settling for the field goad try. What if KC's defense would have let Buffalo get into the end zone to win the game? Would we be criticizing Mahomes for not stepping up in the biggest of moments? I don't think so. Double standard and a different narrative.
-
Your assessment is also your personal opinion. A lot of Allen 'haters' and Allen 'homers' don't believe there is any middle ground here. You probably think his incompletion to Shakir in the end zone was an instance of him being 'anti-clutch', or that He should have thrown a much more catchable ball under duress to Kincaid....perhaps he should have run downfield and caught his own pass?.... I DO think he could play better and that he should ALWAYS look to improve his game. I expect that of every player on the team. We all should. But by and large even in the biggest moments, he has played great and to say he has not been clutch when it mattered the most, it almost seems like we are watching two different people playing QB at the same time. It just seems that the small subset of people who post here who think Allen needs to step up more in bigger moments, they come off as expecting him to be superman and to be perfect all the time. If he makes the slightest mistake, they instantly jump on him and criticize. I don't understand the willingness and desire to criticize like that but maybe that's just me.

Josh was 22-34 for 237 yards. 2 passing tds. No picks. 2 sacks for negative 10 yards. Also added another 39 yards on the ground. Total performance of 276 yards and 2 td's with no turnovers. 104.7 rating. Rob was 10-22 for 131 yards. no passing td's. no picks. 6 sacks for negative 34 yards. He added 9 rushing yards on 3 carries. Also lost 1 fumble. Total performance of 140 total yards, no touchdowns, 1 turnover. 64.8 rating. This comparison is one that can be called a huge 'reach'. Might want to go back to the drawing board if this is the position someone wants to take....

Dalton Kincaid- why so underwhelming this season?
Buffalo4Life01 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Kincaid had another drop on a contested ball where he had it in his hands and then there was contact made by the cb and he wasn't able to come down with it. He unfortunately did not have a good game. -
Dalton Kincaid- why so underwhelming this season?
Buffalo4Life01 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
haha nor could I! But my point is this. I believe Kincaid had to stop the way that he did and dive back for the ball because he totally misjudged the ball while it was in the air. It was a huge overrun. -
Dalton Kincaid- why so underwhelming this season?
Buffalo4Life01 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Appreciate your opinion of the play and mine is a little different. I feel like Kincaid completely misjudged the ball in the air and overran it. I love his potential and what we all hope he can be but he really did not have a good game. -
THIS right here is it. By most people's standards Allen played well enough to win last night. Missed some throws, rushed a few plays and wasn't perfect. Also he's one of the biggest if not THE biggest reasons Buffalo had a chance to win the game in the end. Your quote is exactly what is wrong about the current state of this team. If Allen isn't perfect or nearly perfect in the playoffs, and even then sometimes when he is nearly perfect, it's still not good enough to get the win. Mahomes had the fumble/turnover, back to back pointless drives to start the 2nd half, and only led his team down the field for 3 points late in the 4th quarter instead of 7 which would have given the Chiefs a lot of breathing room. He played well enough to win but was by no means perfect. Not even close to perfect. Yet his teammates make huge plays in big moments and they have a 'team' win because of it.
