  1. I don’t fault anything you are saying (although I think saying us getting Diggs and not winning clearly shows a top WR isn’t our problem is a bit simplistic). The Bills still have a top 6 roster in the league. They carry a top 3 QB, a top 7 RB, top 5 TE room, top 10 O line, top 7 LB core, and top 12 dline. They need secondary, which McD and Beane have shown to be able to bring in above average talent without investing high draft capital. Their WR room is bottom 10 in the league right now, and if they bring in a top 3 draft WR they fix a bad spot on their roster. Along with that, they potentially have a cost controller superstar talent, when as you mentioned they have a potential cap squeeze over the next two/three years. WRs are becoming the third highest position in football behind QB and Dline. Getting 5 years of cost controlled #1 WR play? I think if Beane believes he can get it, he will go for it
  2. Brady is an all time competitor. He likely sees the way Allen isn’t afraid to lay it all out there to win, along with his ability to elevate those around him and respects the hell out of it.
  3. I understand what you are trying to say, but every Super Bowl winning team in the last 5 years HAS had a top 10 receiving threat in that season (Kelce, Kupp, Kelce, Evans, Hill) and, no team that has made the Super Bowl in the last 5 seasons has had a little surrounding talent then what the bills have right now without Diggs. the situation is clear. WR room is lacking talent on this team, and there are 3 high end potential top end #1 WR prospects in this draft. in addition, the concern of not being able to field a strong roster if we mortgage picks to move up is in my opinion a controllable risk. One of Beane’s best abilities is to utilize several avenues to field NFL capable talent across the field. One of his big criticisms? Bringing in superstar talent. does Beane moving up for a top end WR guarantee any success? No, of course not. But if he does move up does it give us more autonomy in selecting the right WR to potentially put us to the promise land? Yes it does. we will have to see what happens on draft day
  4. they will need to give up a PREMIUM amount of draft capital to move to 7/8/9. Likely 2 firsts and maybe 2 seconds as well. If Beane does want a top 3 receiver, he will need to give a haul i wouldn’t put it past beane if Nabers is there at 8 to try to make a deal
  5. No, I meant if they trade up to 8 or 9 to move ahead of the Jets. Like the example I used of the Chiefs moving ahead of the Bills for McDuffie
  6. I'd be SHOCKED if one of the top 3 receivers is there at 10 for the Jets and the Bills DONT trade up to snag one of them. Just like the Chiefs did with us an McDuffie, dont let rival teams take talent that fills a hole on your team.
  7. Apologies! it read to me more like “Watkins repeat would be a mistake”. I think if a rookie with the quality of Watkins came into this team it’s a great grab. If Nabers doesn’t have the injuries Watkins does, with Allen? I’d think we get someone closer to a Chase tier impact
  8. Rookie Watkins with Allen is a 1400 yard rookie who makes the pro bowl. Watkins had no one throwing his way
  9. To be fair, that class was pretty poor at the positions that we needed. WR? No impact signings other than maybe Juju, who chose the Chiefs. Kirk signed for way over our limit DT? Suh was a cheap option but he went where he wanted. We did sign Jones who has earned a second deal Von was unfortunate, but almost every top signing that year has been a miss Some good RB options, but it really doesn't look like a good FA group after a few years.
  10. I could really just say: 4 straight division titles after making the playoffs ONCE in the previous 25 years...
  11. Im thinking OT and QB push the board down. From there, do any teams go CB or DE because they really want to fill a need? If things start shaking out that way... may create opportunity for a WR to slip a bit
  12. Cosell made an interesting point, WRs tend to fall in the draft almost every year. I think about the Jeudy draft, Lamb and Jeudy all fell 5-7 spots from their rankings. Garrett Wilson fell a few spots to the Jets in 22 WR wasn't a pick until 20 last year. Not that it's a fact, but those mocks that have Odunze/Nabers/Harrison ALL going by pick 9... they may not be incredibly accurate to how teams draft. Maybe one falls to 13-15 potentially, and then a team makes a move.
  13. Whether or not they are right, Beane and co BELIEVE they can fill Diggs role and production within the next season. When you think about it, Diggs came in at 26/27 years old as a prime breakout WR, and had 3 years of top tier impact. Then he starts to fall off, Brady can't find a way to make him explode in production, and now we have an unhappy Diggs who is over 30 and Beane made the decision to move on. My guess, they trade up and make a play for Brian Thomas. MAYBE they try to pull an Allen move and make two trades to get to 6 with the Giants for Nabers... Either way, the Bills believe they have an ability to use Kincaid/Cook/WR Drafted/etc. to make this team's offense productive.
  14. Beane needs to earn his money now. Go get a top 4 WR in this draft (Harrison/Nabers/Odunze/Thomas Jr) Grab another in the 3rd via trade back in the second. Maybe a Legette falls. Go into the season with a WR room locked down for the next 3 years and build a damn championship team
  15. A lot of people that were trashing Diggs as a non-impact player in the back half of last year are coming out now and upset that we traded our star talent. I loved Diggs, but I understand why he was moved. Any disruption/age/injury/cap implications are valid
  16. Not that I would be a fan of it, but having 2 seconds next year might give us enough confidence to move our 1st next year. 28+ First for Brian Thomas Jr?
  17. Beane doesn't rush to decisions. This move was calculated, and likely was dependent on other actions as well (White being gone, Morse cut, Dawkins extension).
  18. IF he has interest, he would need to bulk up another 40-50 pounds, and show he has upper body strength to match his light feet. As you mentioned, that's at least 2 years before you even have a bottom of the roster guy. Another 1-2 for any chance at playing time
  19. Dobbins doesn't move the needle that much to a team like KC. They were effective with Mckinnon and CEH ran hard (although he, like Dobbins, has been underwhelming since coming into the league). Dobbins, with several injuries to his body over the last few years.... I dont think he matters much if he goes to KC.
  20. He won’t face jail time But as you said, he is stupid and he needs to evaluate his inner circle. Can’t be an idiot more than a few times
  21. What need has there been to bring in safeties other than potential round flyers? Also, both Hamlin and Johnson who were drafted were the best safeties taken at their pick and on in each draft… unless you consider Epps a great improvement to Johnson, which really is a minor point. Beane have shown CONSISTENT ability to not only draft talent, but to develop useful NFL players. Add to that their ability to evaluate talent already in the league? I don’t worry about the safety position
  22. Want nothing but the best for Tre, I'm hoping he goes to the Raiders. Like what Pierce is doing over there.
