It’s all so funny to me - I have no issues with Diggs being cryptic. He has no allegiance to Buffalo. He signed a deal, he plays because he has a deal. He doesn’t need to say he loves it, and he honors his contract every year. i don’t say I look forward to coming to my job, and when the market was insane a few years ago everyone lacked allegiance to their employer. Diggs is a little different in how he approaches the media. I don’t pay any attention unless he decides to not show up on Sunday.

Babich has learned behind one of the best out there in McD. Gives him a chance to take McDs defense and run with it. Also gives McD a chance to focus on other components of the HC role with more intention. Really like the move. I dont know what other potential DC options were out there that would make me MORE excited than Babich - and he wasn't a guy that I was interested in losing. Good, smart move. Let's see how he does.

Greg Cosell - “I don’t think they have a number 1 WR”
Cray51 replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jefferson is a great, great talent - top 3 WR in the game for sure. However, Diggs had 3 years of top 7 WR production, and for his "bad" postseason play, he at least has 3 100+ yard outings with the Bills in the playoffs. Jefferson has only played one playoff game, and had 47 yards. I still consider it a win-win deal. The Vikings were banking on A receiver being there due to the depth of the draft. Let's be real, the Eagles taking Reagor above him was the biggest factor in the Vikings getting Jefferson. If the Vikings scouted Jefferson and thought he would be the all world talent he is, they dont sit still at the draft to see if he falls. I know they liked him, but Jefferson was the result of getting the pick, not the 1 for 1 trade that was made at that time. Diggs has been great the last 4 years. If he is in fact declining, the Bills need to draft a first round WR and insulate the position. Which I believe they will do. -
That's what I'm thinking as well. It's Sabres level bad of foundational issues

I understand being aggressive on 4th down early in games because you have the opportunity to cover the mistake if you dont convert. But if you are up by 2 scores, and you have the chance to kick a FG - take the damn points. It isn't a situation where you are trying to claw every point out, so you take heavy risk to try to get 7 instead of 3. You have the lead, you have a chance to build on it. Campbell seems like a guy who can learn, I wonder if he will adjust moving forward.

I remember he was lauded as a pretty strong up and coming guy for the league before the blunder in Carolina. Really hoping we found something with him. Listening to a PC from him would be really nice insight that I'd love to hear.

Who are your top 10 QBs in the league
Cray51 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think (and it’s my opinion) Burrow can go to any team in the league and be effective. I think Mahomes can go to any team in the league and be effective. I think Allen can go to any team in the league and be effective, I don’t think Lamar can go to any team in the league and be effective. And by effective, I mean elevate that team to a playoff spot. Lamar does have an mvp, and will likely win a second (although I’ve made the point before, it’s the worst statistical MVP of the last 15 years). He has a record of 2-4 in the playoffs, with a 56% completion % and 6 picks. That’s just not good enoug when it counts -

I think you have to split burrow and allen into a Tier A+, and Jackson and Stroud can sit in A. Stroud had a great year, but let's see how his sophomore year goes, and Jackson is just simply not a "take over the game" type talent. -
eh, I think he has been right around his value for where he was selected.

Beanes strength is finding NFL caliber talent. He is one of the best in the league. When we talk about finding superstars, he is just ok, if not below average. we have 9 picks this year, due to our cap situation, I expect at least 7 to make the roster. Usually we don’t have that much room on the roster for rookies

Ravens/Chiefs Game Thread (Keep the Bills stuff out of here, please)

I don’t understand why more teams aren’t like that. I’d rather play over the line than just let teams physically take the edge from you -

Flowers showing what a young top wideout can bring to an offense. Energy -
The sensible call right now. Brady came in, developed an identity, and let Allen loose when needed. team played well under him. Give him the reigns and an off-season to implement what he wants and let’s see what happens s

Who are your top 10 QBs in the league
Cray51 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Guys who can carry a team: Mahomes Allen Burrow Guys who can elevate a team's system: Jackson Dak Stafford Rodgers Guys who are elevated by a system: Tua Goff Purdy Hurts Guys who can make the playoffs but will never win: Carr Cousins Murray Mayfield Smith Fields Guys I dont know what they are yet but have promise: Love Stroud Lawrence Herbert Those are 21 guys. Once you go past that you are in non-starter territory. If I were to pick a top 10 QBs I'd want on my franchise right now (including age, contract, potential, stats): 1. Mahomes 2. Allen 3. Burrow 4. Lamar 5. Stroud 6. Dak 7. Herbert 8. Love 9. Tua 10. Stafford -
Fangio has a very specific style of defense as well, and if he doesnt have the personnel to run it he flounders. Their injuries hurt them big time. He isn't McD quality, where he can lose half he defense and still stop teams consistently

The WR#2 Market (Spotrac Breakdown and Comparison)
Cray51 replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
I dont think we are going after a WR2 in FA, more like a WR3/4 that gives them flexibility in the offense. I'd assume they would want speed OR route running. I think they either go a younger guy off a rookie deal who might have some untapped production, like a Devin Duvernay. Or, they could maybe go a vet, like a Sterling Sheppard who could play the Sanders role from two years ago. -
Mr. Pegula please read Tyler Dunne’s newest article
Cray51 replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
My honest opinion - I understand why some would want McD to be fired. While I agree that most coaches have a lifespan, and at a certain point you lose the room's FULL attention, I think McD just hasn't had an honest shot in the playoffs over the past 2 seasons to implement the defense he wanted. I'm willing to give another year to see if it can come together with Milano/White/Douglas/Oliver/Miller/Bernard/Benford But for people to talk about how he is neutering Allen, or how people make excuses because they have drought brain... I think that's just BS to sell clicks to an agonized fan base -

Cray51 replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea, Jerry Jones is a terrible basis for an opinion that we need a more vocal owner... You mean the guy whose team is an even bigger disappointment than the Bills? Who actually have WR talent and still aren't winning playoff games? And who hasn't dont anything in the last 25 years as owner? Yea, not really thinking that's who you hang your argument on -
Mr. Pegula please read Tyler Dunne’s newest article
Cray51 replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can't read the entire article because I dont pay for his material, but going off of what has been quoted here: 1) He states that because of "drought brain" certain people can't question the process of the team, and will make excuses. I think that's a piss poor thing to say if you want to make an honest statement and discussion 2) Allen is part of the team, and the Bills have provided incremental improvements to the team over the course of the past several years. If Dunne wants to state its not enough, fine. But the situation isn't binary - Allen has received help, and the team has ALSO used resources towards other areas, which is part of the reason we have had a top 5 defense and top 5 offense for the past 3 years. 3) He makes reference to the press conference McD had, and comments about neutering Allen's arm. But in the same press conference, McD acknowledges that passing is the most important part of the offense. So why is Dunne using opinion that doesn't have basis in facts as a way to scorn McD? Because he wants to prove a point that is his OPINION. 4) "Allen could speak up. He wont rock the boat". Maybe he doesnt want to rock the boat? Maybe he believes McD is the right coach for the job. Dunne is going off of assumptions of Allen's thoughts without the ability to talk to him. 5) "That means unleashing the best player in full". I believe we saw Allen unleashed on that final drive, and some have stated that his over-aggression on a throw to Shakir was too ambitious in the moment. So can we really have it both ways? Is Allen that perfect in Dunne's eyes that we gloss over the fact that the gameplan was played generally well and then those same people that want McD gone for not letting Allen be Allen can be critical of Allen going "out of the gameplan" for his throw to Shakir? Which BTW, I was totally fine with 6) "Laugh at Jerry Jones all you want" I will, because he is a meddling owner and his team has done what in the last 25 years? Again, I haven't read the entire article, because I haven't paid for it. And with the snippets Ive seen, I dont really want to either. That's good. I'd wish Cincybillsfan would acknowledge that instead of putting pockets of statements out there -

Cray51 replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know Dunne used a lot of interviews for his other article, but that last paragraph is funny when McD literally said he believes passing is the key to an effective offense…. He just wants to prove a point. Beane and Diggs addressed the offensive line this year, and made Allen the most protected qb in the league. Drafted Kincaid. I understand Davis wasn’t what he wanted him to be, but Dunne is trying to push opinion very heavily. And, to use the drought as a way to make a statement that denounces our ability to understand the nuance between the drought years and now is just offensive. i still think he is a hack -
He seems like an incredibly mature and intelligent guy. Make him a DB coach and see what you get from there. Similar to the role Josh Norman has taken on

Nothing would make me happier than Tyler Bass making a big Field Goal week one next year to a loud crowd of supporters. Buffalo has always been a place that rewards people who are tough, and keep fighting even when they are down. You miss a kick, it sucks. He knows that. You make a big kick next time you get the chance? You've earned a loud cheer from Bills fans
