I'd say "solid" options for Thuney replacement is a risky assumption. Maybe at LG, but then that leaves an even BIGGER hole at LT if you move Kingsley inside. You aren't just replacing Thuney for LG, you are taking away either an All Pro LG or a serviceable LT when he was shifted outside. The Chiefs drafted Kingsley to be LT, and now they need to shift him in to be a serviceable guard, while leaving the hole at LT. It's a bit similar to the Cody Ford situation the Bills went through. Hicks I'm solid on, but Reid was a big big player especially in the playoffs. I severely doubt Hollywood is back. Severely. Chiefs need to add 2 solid WRs to their team, and this is a poor draft class to address it (Bills are in the same situation). I think Bolton tests the market, and may come back depending on the offers. I wonder if the org was really "happy" with Kelce coming back. He has obviously lost a step, and they could have saved I think $17M if he retired. Would've helped them fill some of these holes, and they could've drafted a TE to develop in a prime role (not saying that cant anyway, but now you have a chunk of cap AND a draft pick at the TE position.

This year is their largest roster turnover since their Dynasty has started. Losing Thuney Losing Reid Losing several D-line rotational players Losing 2-3 WRs (D-Hop, Hollywood) Losing Bolton most likely I'll be interested to see how they are going to navigate this.

The smartest move Beane made on the line with personnel was invest in the tackles over the guards and center. Letting Morse walk, and locking down Dawkins and Brown created stability on the line and the guards are ultimately replaceable compared to the tackles. Compared to the Chiefs, who have their money tied up in their Center, RG (Smith), and Thuney, which forced them to play bad tackles (Taylor stinks) and shift Thuney to LT which hurt them. Now they move on from Thuney, will extend Smith, release Taylor next year, and now need to replace both tackles while still having $50M tied up in their interior
-
Good move for Bears, and the right move for KC. They couldn't keep Thuney/Smith/Humphrey all at once given their contract situation. Taylor will be gone after next year, so I'll be interested if they spend anything substantial for Thuney's replacement this year, or wait until next year (maybe a Vet 1 year deal makes sense this year for LG).

Eagles reset RB market, extend Barkley.

They absolutely can, as long as they take hits in other areas. They are under the averages on their o-line, and if they continue to develop well there, it will be the area they stay lean to be able to sign someone like Cook. -
Seriously. Age and injury concerns top to bottom

NFL Combine Thread: 3 (RB's, QB's & WR's)

I’ve seen a bit of tape that gives me hope that he can separate. He has size and hands to make catches, and his time today shows he can separate at moments. I think he can be a solid #2 if developed. Not a slot 2, but a true 2 -

Gunner, my draft crush is Ayomanor. Think he would be available at 50 with a slight trade up? I see big potential with him in the NFL -

Eric ayomanor at 4.44 is another reason to target him at 56 or 60…. Great outside receiver with size and speed. Great minds -

He said he was clocked at 4.23 this year… -
Coleman was “healthy” by the end of the year, and struggled to commit on contested catches and lacked physicality. cooper caught his targets even when he was wearing a brace and nursing a continued injury. thats why the comments are different
-
Cooper had a bad wrist injury suffered one week into his tenure as a Bill, and went against the doctors suggestion to shut down for the season and tried playing through it

Agreed, but if you are sitting there in camp and the best offer you get is a lower 4th, you take the deal and save the money. I think Edwards is a good player, but he is insulated by Dawkins who plays on an island and McGovern. Those guys are both strong for their position and mask Edwards a touch.
-
Edwards wont be cut, however if Grable/SVG come into camp and look great I could see a trade. O-line is such a need around the league, I'd be shocked if a team wouldn't trade a 4th or 5th for him closer to preseason
-
Yea I don't disagree that the Bills didnt get much from their rookies. Bishop did have 10 tackles in the AFC Championship game, but injuries really derailed these guys. It's funny about your last comment, you list 3 guys that were all picked before we went....
-
Maybe they are better with a healthy Bishop/Carter/Coleman, who all faced major injuries this past season (and might be a reason why our conditioning coach was fired)

Everything seems so much easier in hindsight doesn’t it… and btw, I was a guy clamoring to move up for BTJ by giving up our first this year back before the draft. I can have opinions that differ from what the Bills did, but also callout the realistic scenarios that Beane faces. My initial point doesn’t change, Beane would have taken on incredible risk trading up and giving a haul for BTJ. which btw, Bishop led the team with 10 tackles in the Championship game. If Thomas gets 70 yards, but we lose in another shootout because we have an off the streets guy playing safety since Rapp it out, are we sitting here saying “why didn’t Beane trade back from 28, take McConkey and Bullock??!!” I 100% bet there are posters that would have.

Says me? Or says the fact that no one could trade up to 23 from 28 or on. Jacksonville had already traded down from 17, and weren’t fielding offers. So that means you need to trade to 22, where the Eagles GM said they were targeting Mitchell and weren’t trading the pick. So then it’s 21, where Miami wanted Chop Robinson and weren’t trading back. So then it’s 20, where the Steelers picked OT and their GM said they had a very high grade on Fatanau. So now it’s 19 where the Rams took Verse, who they loved. so realistically, they would have had to trade from 28-18 IF the team wanted to. That’s costing you what - 28 + a second this year plus another second? Now we don’t have pick 28, pick 60, pick 95 (received in a trade back) and no Bills second this year… you can see why it’s not just me saying this trade up wasn’t happening
-
Adonai who had character concerns and had a worse year than Coleman for the Colts? your point here is that there was ONE available X guy after Coleman, who carries heavy baggage, doesn’t block as well on the edge, and had a worse year, but would have been the better selection? I’m not sure this is too sound of reasoning. Kincaid last year set a TE receptions record. He had knee and ligament issues this year. Let’s give him another year to see if he can be that 1,000 yard TE.
-
It has been stated before, there wasn’t a chance to move up regardless of interest. The teams that were in picks 17-24 were all focused on needs that were filled by the players selected at those spots. to move up for Thomas Jr, you are probably sending our second and 28 plus a 4th this year and I’m still not sure Jacksonville would accept. the draft fell too well for teams picking in that spot for them to consider a trade down
-
Dont bring reason into this, people are just mad the Bills didn't select the best players drafted after them.
-
The point is you are putting a $10 Burger against a $5 Burger but not factoring in price. If the Bills had pick 22, they take BTJ and our offense is completely different. We didnt have the opportunity to because we were 28th. There isn't a boundary receiver as good as BJT after he was selected. Zero. If we have BJT taken at 22 and are sitting there with picks 50 and 53, maybe they move up to draft Dejean. But to simply go "The Eagles drafted well and the Bills didn't" without acknowledging the context of their draft is silly. You take Worthy you can't get Carter (regardless of how you feel you dont get that 3rd round pick). And I'm not convinced Worthy is better than Coleman. You take Ladd and you give ABSOLUTELY zero boundary threat (I really like Ladd, but he is a pure slot guy) Bullock is a good pick, we missed on him. I'm hopeful about Bishop however. The Chargers had the worst boundary receivers in the league and still played Ladd at slot. We are going to disagree here. If Ladd was a capable boundary guy they would have used him there more. He is a GREAT slot guy, but he hasn't shown in the NFL an ability at the boundary.
