Early returns on this years class seem to be in line against proper expectations. Coleman - Pacing for 750 yards and 8 TDs as a rookie - not bad Bishop - Hurt early, supposed to a backup but being thrust into a starting role Carter - Looks really solid. Like him a lot and he made plays this week Davis - Average backup RB. Meh pick so far Soloman looks really good. I think he is a homerun pick frankly. So yes, I trust Beane for the draft. In fact, Beane has shown be a top 5-7 drafting GM in the league. A lot of other things to complain about over Beane's draft ability.

Hollins actually got open several times and Allen missed him

We can blame coaching, but Allen missed several throws and his receivers didn’t help -

I think Gunnar highlighted that they committed Spector and Williams to attacking downhill no matter what, and it forced Lamar to be the one to make plays instead of Henry -
It cracks me up. One minute this is Josh Allen’s MVP year, now it’s “this guy may never run for 15-20 yards again” lol
-
Points from OP: He seems slower. He’s still elusive in the pocket (barely). He moved away from Marlon Humphrey to escape the pocket last night who is plenty quick. He also has used his legs to get around defenders, especially in weeks 1 and 2 for first downs and touchdowns Is he showing his age already? Bills had the number 1 offense in the league through the first 3 weeks and it wasn't really close. Allen was the most efficient player weeks 1-3 Or didn’t he work out this past summer? Allen mentioned losing 10-15 pounds this offseason and being in great shape leading into camp I know they want him to stay in the pocket, but he’s been sliding 15 yards short of where he used to when faster. Perhaps we’ll never see the 15-20 yard designed runs to the end zone Allen ran for a touchdown Week 1 of this year where he hurdled Budda Baker for the score. there is an opinion, and then there is a fallacy. If OP said "Allen seems to be sliding more, maybe he is protecting his body" that's something I can understand. But Allen "losing a step" and "we may never see a 15-20 yard run" are just insane statements.

Spector of all people caught Lamar escaping the pocket for a sack on Sunday, I think Lamar has lost a step as well... Allen is actively trying to save/heal his body right now. He had his hand injury in Week 1, and the offense prior to the Ravens game was flowing well enough that he didnt NEED to run for 80 yards a game. Allen mentioned in multiple interviews that he has lost 10-15 pounds compared to previous years, and is in a very good physical state. The dude was ROCKED by a massive DT on that trick play and didnt miss a snap. His body (while sore) is still a damn tank. In the 4th quarter, he laterally sprinted away from Marlon Humphrey while he was escaping the pocket. He has plenty of speed still in his legs.

Joe Marino All-22 review - "The coaches were duds"

Completely agree. The moment we went heavy with Morrow, Hill abused him. There wasn't a solution with the talent we had on the field. This is where a heavy concept with Williams/Milano/Bernard looks a lot different than Morrow/Spector/Williams. I dont know that we could have held the Ravens below 28 points even executing our gameplan well. -
Brandon McManus reinstated - Bass replacement?

Bills need to bring him in for a workout. Guy kicked for years in Denver, and understands windy/cold conditions. -
This game reminds me of the Bucs Chiefs Super Bowl. Chiefs came in with this high flying offense, only to be physically dominated by the Bucs. Coaching played a factor, but the Bucs were hungry and just manhandled the Chiefs. These games happen, Bills need to bounce back next week

When anything and everything that can go wrong, does go wrong...
Cray51 replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Absolutely they will help, and I do think Spector and Williams were beaten often by overpursuing. The Ravens would fake one way and then screen back the other way, and our LBs were completely fooled. A healthy defense would go a long way -

You could see McD on the sideline reiterating gap control and continuity when Henry was running wild and the Ravens quick pivot offense was eating us for chunk plays. I think McD caught onto the Ravens relatively early on in the second quarter, but by that point we were already down and a coach can call it out all he wants, he needs halftime to put that in place. Bills came out at half and played much better defence, but then momentum was taken from them via the trick play and we called it halfway through the 4th to save the starters. We were bullied for sure, and the Ravens had a great gameplan. McD needs to preach gap control and continuity as much as possible if they play them again. -
So far WR group looks like a dumpster fire

He absolutely has to. The Ravens and Chiefs' defenses are too good to dink and dunk for 60 minutes. Need to establish the run to create play action. -

Couple of things - 1) weeks 2 and 3 the bills packed the passing offense in by halftime due to their leads, so it’s very tough to sit here and use their season stats as a benchmark against teams who are chucking the ball for 60 minutes in tight games 2) You are the second person to be “disappointed” in a player on this team not being to the quality of a hall of famer. Kincaid is not Kelce, and Shakir is not Welker. Anyone who thinks that is simply inviting disappointment. 3) the offense is built to leverage the line of scrimmage and use the run game to open the pass. They didn’t establish the run enough last night. That was a mistake that cost the entire offense. 4) they lost to a top 5 team in the league. It’s going to happen. I’m giving these receivers another few weeks before claiming anything as bold as you -
The Ravens will win their division and be 12-5/13-4. the Jets are a bubble playoff team that is looking at 9-8. It’s not even close. They o-line is bad, their receivers don’t get separation, their run game is non existent, and their defense continues to be overrated
-
If you expect Kincaid to be the same as the best tight end over the past 5 years and a sure fire hall of famer you will always be disappointed. he had a drop or two, but he was one of the few guys beating his coverage and getting open occasionally. Maybe not a full on “positive”, but there is positive tape to show about things he did this game
-
Yea I read it wrong - thanks!
-
Yes, I just reread my stats and I had it backward
-
Positives: Coleman showed good hands on the edge Cook ran pretty well Kincaid did well Dawkins continues to look good Benford played well thats my list. Biggest disappointment was the D-line and LBers
-
Not many teams can, which is why I’m not worried. but the ravens did bully us tonight.
-
Henry set the tone, and the offense was forced to be one dimensional when it was 21-3. We get some momentum, and the busted trick play pushes it away. we were bullied tonight. Ravens are a big, tough team. You have to be willing to block hard and hit hard to beat them. one thing I did notice - ravens were so successful with their outside blitz. When our RB moved up towards the line pre snap, they brought a rusher on the opposite edge and the RB couldn’t move over in time.
-
That was about a direct matchup, not “idk if my team can make the playoffs….” Cmon now

Harbaugh keeping Henry in to hit 200 is one of the reasons I find him annoying.
