Hey Bart, how about your team the Ravens?

    Are they frauds too?

Also Bart, great analysis, love that perfect 20/20 hindsight. Way to really go out a limb there.

That's not Bart Scott... That's Marcus Spears... (sorry if you knew that and calling him Bart was the joke. Hard to tell sometimes haha)

He was pretty late to get on board with the Bills last year... but pretty much everyone on ESPN not named Dan Orlovsky was. Most of the time, I think these analysts are just paid to have different opinions so there is something to debate.

  2. Alright, I'll go ahead and say what we're all thinking... we should have kept Tyrod Taylor. That guy throws a great deep ball and practically never fumbles. Sure, we would have to suffer through listening to him clear his throat 78 times per interview, but if he was able to lead the Texans to victory yesterday, imagine what he would do with all this talent in Buffalo?

(disclaimer: this post is a joke)

  3. It's really the NFL Schedule Maker's fault for not giving us the Jets week 1 like they have 3 out of the past 4 years.

In all seriousness, that Steelers defense is great, and that front 4 is going to wreak havoc on a lot of offenses. TJ Watt might very well be DPOY and that secondary doesn't get enough credit.

We struggle against teams that can generate consistent pressure with 4 men rushing and keep 7 in coverage. That's how KC beats us and that's how Tampa beat KC. It's also how the Giants beat New England in both Super Bowls. The good news is that most teams we play don't have the DLine talent to do this.

The bad news is, KC, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh can do this.

Hey, at least Tennessee and Indy also looked terrible yesterday.

  4. As a person who shares the surname Lawson, I sure hate to see any Lawson go down with an injury.

I of course had wanted the Bills to sign Carl, mainly because it's been too long since there was a Lawson on this team to root for.

In all seriousness, always hate to see serious injuries. It's always preferable to see the Bills dominate a fully healthy team over a team missing their best players.

My best friend is a Jets fan. We used to have arguments over whether it was worse to be a Bills fan or a Jets fan. I've been happily losing that argument for the past few years. That said, I hope there comes a day when the Patriots are irrelevant, the Dolphins are a mess, and the Bills and Jets duke it out for the AFC East every year for a decade. Of course, it's much easier to have sympathy for Jets fans now that I don't live in New York City and am no longer surrounded by guys in Wayne Chrebet jerseys.

Are all of the people in Austin believe this crap and talk about it?

No. No one is talking about it in Austin. We just got an MLS team this year and that's most of the sports buzz here... that and UT. I have a hard time imagining an NFL team here—it's not really an NFL town.

That said, I can see Austin making a push in another 5–10 years to bring a team here. The growth here is insane and the demographics of this city will be completely different by 2026. I just hope it's not the Bills—and I feel pretty confident that it won't be.

  6. I think about the scoring drives to start the 3rd quarter against both the Steelers and Ravens in the Divisional round.

In both games, the offense had been stymied for the entire first half, and in both games, they came out at the start of the 2nd half and scored touchdowns. They may not have been the prettiest drives, but they were under the lights in big games against good defenses that had held them in check.

  7. I'd like to see him get better about not subjecting himself to as many big hits, or taking hits at awkward angles.

This is a tough one because he's made so many great plays when keeping a play alive after it's blown up. And he definitely got a lot better about this last year, but there were still times where you'd like to see him just get rid of the ball and come back for another play. I think he reverts to this more when games are not going well—KC, Tennessee, etc.

I think about the Chargers game where Bosa was in the backfield right after the snap and Josh tried to stiff arm him and got rolled up in a bad-looking way. I wasn't sure he was going to get up from that. Or in the Raiders game where he made that 8 yard shovel pass while being tackled and ended up dislocating his shoulder. I think he's got the mentality that he can take on anyone in the NFL. That's not a bad trait, but you have to be smart about it.

Again, I don't think you want to reign in the leash on him and make him play to not get hurt. You want him to go out there and do what he does. But there's a reason guys like Brady, Rodgers, Brees, etc. have had such long careers—they're excellent at limiting the hits they take.

He really needs to give up on his dream of growing facial hair.  Let it go, man.  It ain't happenin'.

Nah, he's still got time. He's young. A lot of guys don't hit their peak facial hair growth until they are in their 30s. I work for a men's grooming company. We see it all the time—guys who couldn't grow much facial hair in their early twenties who end up with massive beards and handlebar mustaches in their 30s and 40s.

Well I was even cutting it closer...got  Diggs, Allen, Edmunds and White jerseys and they all came in right before the first playoff game...only wore the JA 17 one so far tho. Wore that for all 3 playoff games

Hell, we might have beat KC if you wore all 4 jerseys at the same time 😂

90% of statistics are completely made up.  Did the NYT study isolate attendees vs. non-attendees residing in the same city?  Do we even know whether attending the game outdoors actually increases or decreases your risk compared to how you would watch the game otherwise for those particular fans that attended? While I know that staying home in isolation is going to keep you healthy, I'm always skeptical about such studies.

Rank the following in terms of riskiness.  I would say after #1, nobody really knows.

    1. Watch the game home alone, or don't watch the game.

    2. Watch the game outdoors with 20,000 other fans.

    3. Watch the game at a crowded indoor bar.

    4. Watch the game at home with family and friends.

Just out of curiosity... does your statistic that 90% of statistics are completely made up fall into the completely made up category? Based on that statistic, it seems there's a 90% chance that that statistic is made up.

Would that still be the case if fans are now fully vaccinated?  Perhaps the answer is to let only allow people who have been fully vaccinated to attend then.

More importantly, would Josh Allen be allowed to attend should he decide to not get vaccinated? 😂

  10. Hard to pick one. I think these moments will stay with me for a while.

    1. Johnson's pick-6 against Baltimore
    2. Allen's TD to Diggs against Indy to go up two scores
    3. Diggs torching the Pats D for that long TD, and bouncing off of two defenders for his 3rd TD.
    4. Allen freezing Richard Sherman and hitting Davis for a TD against SF
    5. Allen and Diggs taking over in the 2nd half against Pittsburgh
    6. The Hail Murray
    7. Allen's TD throw to Diggs seconds before the Hail Murray
    8. Diggs watching the Chiefs celebrate
    9. Josh Norman getting stiff-armed into oblivion by Henry
    10. Allen tossing the ball in the face of the Chiefs defender late in the AFC Championship

As a Lawson, I was hoping for a new Lawson on the Bills. It's been too long since Manny Lawson was here.

Wait, how did I forget about Shaq Lawson? He was a combination of my two favorite people—Shaquille O'Neal and myself.

  12. The Patriots had the worst TE group in the NFL last year. They now have a solid/good TE group—not a great TE group. Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry are not Travis Kelces. They're not George Kittles. They're not Gronks. Nobody last year was sitting around going, "omg, how do we stop Jonnu Smith?"

They got better at TE. They didn't get great at TE. Teams that "win" free agency rarely win big on the field. Will they be a better team next year? Probably. But we'll be fine.

  13. I love the 90s red, royal blue, and white. I love most teams' 90s uniforms, though. Would love to see the bucs go back to white and orange, the eagles go back to heather green and silver, the seahawks go back to silver and royal blue, etc. It's probably because I was a kid in the 90s and that's when my love of football was cemented—I've got the most nostalgia connected to that decade.

There's been a rule in place for the past several years that requires teams to have only one helmet color, which is why we haven't seen the bucs creamsicles or old white and red patriots uniforms in a while. I believe that rule expired at the end of this season, so it's possible we could see more throwback uniforms next season.
