Saffold said guys were "exhausted" this week and "out of gas"
MPL replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
FWIW, I was exhausted, too. I was barely clapping by the end of the year. -
In defense of Beane... the offense was seemingly unstoppable by the end of last season (and even at the beginning of this season). They didn't punt in like, 4 out of 5 games. It was the defense, primarily lack of pass rush that was this team's achilles heel. So, Beane went out and got Von Miller and for the first half of this season, the Bills pass rush was top 2 or 3 in the league. Then Von got hurt and everything went to *****. I can't blame Beane for that. I don't know what happened to the offense this year. They got derailed at some point (some point out the Green Bay game) and never really got seemed to get it back. I remember at the beginning of the season saying that Josh was reading defenses pre-snap as well as Brady or Manning. He was efficient, always knew when to go to his hot reads, and knew when to take the big shots downfield. By the end of the year, it felt like Josh was not reading defenses well, and this felt most apparent in both playoff games. Against Miami and Cincinnati, Josh struggled to identify free rushers off the edge and both teams had success with blitzing Josh (something that was a death sentence to defenses in 2020 and 2021). I don't know what went wrong this year. It was probably a myriad of things all working together. For most of the year, I felt the o-line wasn't good enough. But then, yesterday, I watched Joe Burrow carve us up with 3 starters out on his o-line and it became very apparent that a QB who is reading the defense well can overcome a bad o-line by helping them know where pressure is coming from and getting the ball out quickly. Well, it also helped that Buffalo had never played on snow before and couldn't get their footing. I don't know what to feel today. I hope they invest heavily in the o-line and finally make a commitment to adding a running game. I'd like to see this team built more like Philadelphia. Anyway, I forgot what this thread was even about halfway through typing this.

Dorsey will interview with Carolina this weekend for head coaching job
MPL replied to Mopreme's topic in The Stadium Wall
There's an unwritten rule that teams have to interview at least one mentally unstable candidate. The Panthers are just conducting this interview to ensure the league doesn't launch an unofficial investigation into their hiring practices. There has been conversation in some circles about naming this unwritten rule the "Dorsey Rule." -
A Bills vs. Eagles Super Bowl would complete our tour of the NFC East... though, the Cardinals were still an NFC East team the last time we got there.

Tua ruled out vs Buffalo, Skylar Thompson expected to start
MPL replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can assure you I am not taking this game lightly and already have my lucky underwear laid out and ready to go. -

The ESPN Analytics Matchup Predictor has the Bills chance of victory at 96.3% and the Dolphins at 3.7% I've never seen a team have a chance of victory above 85% before. Crazy. -
Aside from his two-week stint with the Bucs, dude has spent the last 10 months only playing pickup basketball. He wasn't going to come in and immediately see 40 snaps a game.

Week 15: Dolphins at Bills on Saturday Night Football
MPL replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that wasn't actually Greg Rousseau in the ad. -
They couldn't stop ONE run play. The rest of the time they held NE to an incredibly paltry number of yards, like 10 first downs or less, and I think NE only crossed midfield once? Something like that. If I'm not mistaken, that game also had sustained winds of 25-30 mph and gusts up to 60 mph... It looks like we're looking at winds of 8-16 mph with gusts up to 25 mph for Saturday night. That's a little closer to the Bills/Patriots wild card game... but the potential snow accumulation on the field is the wild card here.

The Chiefs are 1-5 against the Bills and Bengals this season and last

4 straight AFC championship games and only 1 super bowl ring... sheesh, they're only like 1 win better than the 1990s Bills. -
Funny, I could have sworn Mitch Morse was at the center of our efforts.

It is. Has been for 4 years. 🤷♂️ Big news for the "continuity is key" crowd.

Playbook? I thought Dorsey's playbook was just, "hey guys, run around and hope Josh does something amazing."

Has our progress been auto-saved? Can we reset the game and reload it from week 7? Thanks.

I feel like the Rams game would be a great response to this question. The Bills had a nice quick pass game going for the first few games. That did kinda go away. I too, have wondered what happened to the quick pass game that looked so sharp against LA and Tennessee. If I remember correctly, we saw a lot of the quick passing game against Miami and Baltimore, too. Could it be that Crowder, who went down against Baltimore, is the missing piece to the quick passing game?!?! No, it couldn't be. IDK. I am not an offensive coordinator.

After the past several weeks, I would would welcome a few "boring" Bills games.

This post is very wide left.

How does this thread have 5 pages?! Some of you would benefit from taking a walk and getting out of your feelings. There's a lot of football left to be played and the NFL seems to get crazier every season. I'm not crowning anybody yet.

Squirrel Winter shirts and hoodies are now available.
MPL replied to Just Jack's topic in The Stadium Wall
Man, I feel so bad for the other guy that helped shovel... the guy who no one will remember (myself included)... simply because his name is not Squirrel Winters. -
I feel you — definitely frustrating watching Dallas dominate them. I think Dallas might actually be the best team in the NFC. That said, I do think we match up just fine against Minnesota. We were cruising in the first half and Minnesota had no answer. You take away the 80-yard Cook run (which I feel was mostly due to our defense being so depleted and backups taking bad angles) and the bad Josh Allen interception on 4th down and we likely would have won by 2 or more scores. But yeah, we didn't.
