  1. I felt last year's playoff loss to the Chiefs for days after it happened. I felt last year's 4th and 1 slip against the Titans for days after it happened. The loss to the Jaguars left me in a sour mood for the rest of the day. I'd like to say that I miss the losing years because the games didn't matter all that much to me when my expectations were lower... but that simply isn't the case. Even when I had no Super Bowl expectations, watching the team start 5-1 in 08 and only win 2 games the rest of the way was rough. The losses hurt regardless if the team is good or bad because there was always some hope that the team would achieve more than you expected. That hasn't changed. So, no—I don't miss the losing years.

  2. Worth noting that the Titans are down their best CB tonight. Their most experienced CB was a was a 7th round pick. After that, it's a 2nd round pick from this year and Caleb Farley (who tore his ACL as a rookie last year). Sounds a lot like a our secondary minus Hyde and Poyer. Byard is a hell of a safety, but I'll take our guys against this Titans secondary, even without Davis.

Depends... Is Dawson Josh Allen Manny Shaq Lawson too long of a name?

My gut says it's fine so long as we never build a well...

Shaq Lawson is my favorite name because it combines the names of two of my all-time favorite people—Shaquille O'Neal and Myself.

    Your parents named you Uille?

Yeah. They went to a lot of Grateful Dead concerts.

Yes, in 2003. I'd even go so far as to say 3. Antoine Winfield, Nate Clements and Terrence McGee as Nickel.

I think Winfield was gone and Clements was on his way out by the time McGee came into his own. I feel like I remember him getting torched a ton and being a liability his first couple of seasons in the league.

  5. Dude was also more clutch last year than he gets credit for. There was a significant lift in his passer rating in the 4th Quarter.

Josh Allen Passer Rating by Quarter
    1st: 92.3
    2nd: 88.9
    3rd: 75.8
    4th: 117.1

Allen and Brady were also tied for the most touchdowns thrown on 3rd and 4th down last year, with 18 each. You can crunch those numbers here https://www.footballdb.com/statistics/nfl/player-splits/passing/third-down/2021?sort=passtds

it's got a very aggressive look to it, however.

Yes—the aggressiveness of a 15-year-old boy in 1999, just after his mom told him to turn off the X-Box and go to bed for the 11th time.

Also, the Chiefs wear all red and I sure am sick of those guys.

As much as I couldn’t stand Keith Ellison as a player back then, I have to admit, as an undersized linebacker, he’d likely be viewed a bit differently if he played in todays NFL. Was ahead of his time. But man, he frustrated the hell out of me back then.

Actually, I'm pretty sure we just drafted Keith Ellison 2.0 in the 3rd round and I wasn't upset about it in the slightest. How things have changed...

    Keith Ellison: 6'0" 229 lbs.
    Terrel Bernard: 6'1" 224 lbs.

  8. Is a 40-year-old Jason Peters worth bringing in?

He was surprisingly solid last year in 15 games for a pretty bad Bears team. We could certainly use some depth on the line, especially with some lingering questions about Spencer Brown's health this past Spring. The story kind of writes itself—Peters returns to the team that made him what he was, gets a ring, and helps make the sour taste he left in our mouths all those years ago a little less sour.

I believe the core of the problem is a concentration of power.  Big government.  The government is too powerful.  At the Federal, State, and in some situations such as large urban centers.  And when one side or the other gains control of this power they attempt to use it to push around people that have different views and opinions.

Take away governments funding and they have no money or ability to push around American citizens regardless of their views.  Everybody minds their business and quarrels are private matters to be settled outside of the political arena.

Central government vs. states rights has always been the crux of the matter. I can understand and empathize with the disdain for a strong centralized government and the restrictions that can come with that. We've seen it and lived it. Respectfully, it's also my opinion that many states in the union have a poor track record when it comes to protecting the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all of its citizens. I'd love to believe that we could let each state handle a majority of issues, but our history tells me that is a very slippery slope.

I see that you're also in favor of less powerful state and municipal governments as well? I guess I don't fully understand how that could work alongside a limited federal government. Are most things handled in the private sector at that point? And if so, how do we trust that the private sectors won't push their power around on people that have different views and opinions?
