John Elway and Phil Simms are the only two examples of QBs who won Super Bowls after coaching changes. Elway lost 3 Super Bowls with Gibbs as coach in the 80s and it wasn't until Shanahan was hired that Elway won. Simms had been the Giants QB for 4 seasons with little success. Parcells was hired in 83 and they won the Super Bowl in 86. It's not very inspiring. But it's not any better for teams that held onto 1 head coach for a long time... Bill Cowher and Andy Reid are the only examples. Cowher had coached the Steelers for over a decade but didn't get over the hump until drafting Big Ben. Andy Reid had sustained success in KC for 4 years but didn't get over the hump until drafting Mahomes. At this point, something has to change for the Bills, and it's either McDermott or Allen.

After last night, I have a problem with 32 NFL teams 🙃
-
I want chaos. I want everything to go horribly wrong for every team.

Watching the game last night, I kept thinking that this version of the Bills looks burned out. It's written on their faces and in their energy. They have the look of a fighter that knows they have lost the fight and are just trying to not get knocked out. Even McDermott looks completely burned out. This roster needs a reset. And I think you've got to strongly consider bringing in an offensive head coach with a new staff that can potentially maximize Josh Allen's talent. New energy, new team, new belief that they can win. If they're lucky, they can flip the roster in 2 years and have a new window open in 3 years. Because I think Josh Allen has 3–5 years left. And with his style of play, I fear that it's probably closer to 3 years before his physical tools really decline.

Good player. Not a game-wrecker. Probably won't ever be. About what you'd expect out of an edge rusher drafted at the end of round 1.
-
Allen is 0-5 in Overtime, so no.
-
What is the allure with Daboll? Does no one remember that the offense also sucked at times when Daboll was OC? Or do we just zero in on a small sample size from January 2022?
-
Alright boys, time to break out the slide tackles.
-
McDermott made the mistake of being a defensive head coach and that doesn't mix with Cowherd's ongoing tirade about offensive coaches being the only coaches who win Super Bowls. Something that he only started talking about in the past two years. Cowherd was very pro McDermott before that.
-
I mean, who hasn’t picked off Josh Allen at this point? 😂
-
Pure gold.

I mean... you have to have inactive players every week. Whoever we replace him with would also be — wait for it — inactive.

Remember the 2021 season: Concern vs Panic

Read the room, man. Read the room. -
A trade is the only way to save the season
MPL replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Prior to today, I thought maybe a big acquisition before the deadline could save this season. But now I don't think 1 guy isn't going to do it. And the core group of this roster is toast. A lot of aging starters with big contracts that will need to be replaced in the next two years. The Bills need to be acquiring picks because the drop-off is coming fast. -
I don't like things I can't control — which includes the Bills, their offense, and Ken Dorsey — so, no, I am not happy!!! I should probably talk to someone. (actually, I'm pretty happy)

What kind of football background do you have?
MPL replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've won quite a few fantasy football championships, thank you very much. I also scored, like, 3 touchdowns in my high school football days. And I won 5 super bowls with the bills in Madden 2001 franchise mode, so I know a thing or two. -
IF Allen Tried to Force His Way Out of Buffalo...
MPL replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
"The Bills haven't had their best start to the season and have struggled even in games they are able to pull off the victory." Ah yes, nothing says struggles like winning 3 of 4 games by 20+ points. Two weeks ago, all anyone could talk about was how the Bills have the greatest DVOA ever for a 3-1 team. I get that the past 2 weeks have looked rough, but holy smokes, this is the NFL, not some SEC team playing out of conference games. Another thing, the Bills have started 4-2 in 3 of the past 4 seasons. Plenty of offensive duds in those years, too, even with Daboll running the O. And one more thing: In 2021, Cowherd had Beane/McDermott in his top 3 GM/Coach combos. But for the past year and a half he's been on a tyrade about offensive-minded coaches so now he's out on McD because it doesn't fit his new narrative. -
At this point in Von's recovery, I would have much rather seen Epenesa out there at the end of the game over Von. Von looks like he doesn't have any burst or closing speed right now.

Everybody calm down. Tonight was just the Bills paying homage to and showing respect for the Tyrod Taylor years — nothing more.

Josh Allen heading in for X-rays? (Allen now says he's fine postgame)
MPL replied to Awwufelloff's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can't do this again this year, guys. -
Dorien Williams, your mission should you choose to accept it?
MPL replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wait, why would Dorian not accept the mission? -
Wasn't my intention, but I suppose that was a very Chevy Chase-esque sentence.

I have dreaded the arrival of this day all season. Better to do it now and get it over with so we can all move on with our lives.

Also... I know Elam was badddddd but could this also indicate that Benford might be missing more time? Because if that's the case, oof.
