UPDATED - v3.0 (FINAL) on p.13 - Gunner's 2023 Mock Draft
Southern_Bills replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd rather trade down with the first and grab 2 OL in the 2nd. Somehow I think our Wideout issue wouldn't look so bad if Josh had better protection. -
Make your choice: Bills next future
Southern_Bills replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd take the SB. 10 years of "very good" won't mean anything in 12 years, besides remembering how they were so close and never got there. Look at the Eagles, they blew up a SB winner and now are back. Rams have a chance to do that as well. Why would you tolerate "very good" for over a decade? -
Should the Bills switch to a 3-4 defense?
Southern_Bills replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
No. Just no. Maybe if you fired the DC and hired a 3-4 guy and he gave assurances that he can make this roster work. Even then he's going to want a few pieces, which in turn takes away from the offense. I really wish we could just hire Jim Schwartz back in all honesty. -
If the Eagles win I could see Cowboys/Eagles

How many teams can Singletary start on
Southern_Bills replied to NastyNateSoldiers's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll be honest, at this point I think you are wrong. This coaching staff has proven they pre determine what they are going to do and don't adjust. Cook and Singletary could have been a deadly duo this year. The OC just decided he was going long 70% of the time before week 1. -
Still have draft and free agency, no one really knows what any of the 4 teams will look like as a whole. So to make a prediction now is like planning how to spend your money when you hit the lotto. It's fun, but it means nothing.

Absolutely agree, only issue is McBeane has painted themselves into a corner with the cap I think. Needing to upgrade weapons and OL in one off season may be too much to ask in the current financial situation. I hope I'm wrong, but if I am bringing a guy like Lockett in will probably be a big part of it.

I would take Lockett in a heartbeat. Evans is a better version of Davis, which is always welcomed.

Should QB Compensation Be Carved Out of the Salary Cap?
Southern_Bills replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
Eh, if this came to pass teams without a Franchise QB would be at an even greater disadvantage. We all know a Franchise QB greatly increases the chance of victory. If they equaled the teams outside of the QB on top of that, well we could probably pick the conference championship games on week 1. I wouldn't be a fan. -
Even if it's true, what can the Bills do about it? Nothing. He got the contract before the injury, is what it is. I think he will regain his form but even if he don't the only answer is to never give a big contract, injuries will always be a part of it.

Bills Fire Safeties Coach Jim Salgado
Southern_Bills replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree, Randy Moss probably can't coach wideouts, so I get it. But Reed does have passion which the Bills lack in a major way. -
Final Pro Football Focus Oline Season Grades
Southern_Bills replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Perhaps like Teller? But hey Beane is a guru. At least the drought years we just sucked, now we have hope but are doomed by incompetence. -
Bills Fire Safeties Coach Jim Salgado
Southern_Bills replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall
He has more passion in his finger than the entire coaching staff we currently have. Xs and Os, who knows, can't be a downgrade though. I certainly hope they plan to fire more than just the safeties coach. -
I hope you are correct, at the time I have a hard time believing that though.

Is it the drafting or the player development?
Southern_Bills replied to Low Positive's topic in The Stadium Wall
I honestly can't say which. It's hard to ever say which one it is definitively. Teller obviously points you in a certain direction. The real question is does it matter? The people drafting are the same and the people coaching are the same. So does that mean the Pegulas and the Bills are "OK" being considered a top team but not performing like one when it counts? That's what I hear. -
Unless they win a Lombardi I sincerely hope this isn't remembered as the most successful time in team history. Top 8 team, that's it, nothing more nothing less. Can't get to the final 4 to even have a shot. I wish it was different but that's the reality, very tired of them being considered a top 3 team or so and the results don't match that claim, not even in the slightest.

Bill Parcells says Josh Allen needs help
Southern_Bills replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
The team is cap strapped. It has to be the coaches. Either you paid the wrong People or you have the wrong people leading them. Your choice, either way someone should be out of work. Coordinators or Beane, make a choice. -
Bills D probably has 1 more year of running it back - and be good
Southern_Bills replied to appoo's topic in The Stadium Wall
That one still hurts, we literally helped him catch it...🙄 -
Bills D probably has 1 more year of running it back - and be good
Southern_Bills replied to appoo's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can't help but say no. Von may not even be 100% next year which is a huge concern. At the end of the day the draft should still be used on offense. If you can score the defense doesn't have to be as good. Which IMO Buffalo has a paper D. Looks good on paper, but when it's 3rd and 8 for the game I don't trust them, and there is data to backup my mistrust.
