  1. Walter Football has Carden going rounds 3-5 and doesn't even have Doughty listed. Drafttek has Carden as their 5th ranked QB and once again no Doughty.
  2. Since the Bills are not in position to grab one of the top QB's in the draft, I took a look at the stats of QB's from schools that are not football powerhouses. I wanted to see a QB that elevated his team despite not having top talent surrounding him. Looking at ESPN's EPA stat (Expected Points Added on a pass attempt) and two QB's had better EPA ratings than Marcus Mariota from Oregon (who will probably go in the first few picks). I picked this one stat because it was strictly about passing, not running, not how many sacks they took, etc. The two QB's were Shane Carden from ECU and Brandon Doughty from WKU. Mariota's EPA is 91.2 Carden's EPA is 94.1 Doughty's EPA is 110.3 Both Carden & Doughty are pocket-style passers, not read-option running QB's. This, to me, is a plus as it will make the transition to the pros easier. Both Carden & Doughty are gunslingers, putting up impressive passing yards: Mariota 4121 yds Carden 4736 yds Doughty 4830 yds I would think both of these QB's will be available when the Bills pick and would be nice to bring to camp to battle EJ for the starting job. Any thoughts on these two or some other QB's from non-powerhouse programs?
  3. Cowher went to NC State and moved back to Raleigh wen he left Pittsburgh, don't know how much time spends in PA anymore.
  4. Most high schools and colleges have both soccer & football teams, a typical soccer roster size is 14-16, where football is 50+ players.
  5. Soccer is the #1 cause of concussions in women's sports in the US and #2 in men's sports only because far more men play football than soccer.
  6. Now my plan involves helicopters and a small army of landscapers with leafblowers....
  7. Will they IR Spiller? A broken collarbone should be healed in time for the last game or two (and hopefully playoffs).
  8. I had mentioned him in the QB 2015 thread. Carden broke most of ECU's (David Garrard's) QB records he has a 154.6 QB rating so far this season on a team averaging 41 pts/game
  9. Both teams have some big injuries coming into this game. Pats will be minus Ridley & Mayo (Bills D sure are creating some big causalities this year). Jets lost their Revis-replacement CB Milliner (torn achilles-stick a fork in his career).
  10. I think he came up with this formula: (CJ+Middle)*(Gameplan-Watkins)=Superbowl
  11. Shane Carden-East Carolina University Senior this year, broke all of ECU/David Garrad's QB records for: single-season passing yards, career touchdown passes, career passing yards and completions in a career. Put 70 points on UNC this year.
  12. Finally made the call last night. I got Sunday Ticket upgraded to Max (which allows online viewing), got the price knocked down $8/month. The resulting total was $190-something, they are sending me a $200 Visa card for a one year commitment to DTV (I've had them since 2000, so I'm not going anywhere). Basically, they are paying me like $8.00 to have Sunday Ticket.
  13. The last concert I saw at there was Guns n Roses & Metallica. We got there 5-6 hours early and tailgated like it was a Bills game.
  14. There was this OJ Simpson person who ran track in college and was part of a world-record setting relay team. He did pretty good in the NFL.
  15. And our favorite team is named after a man who killed many Native Americans during the Indian War...
  16. I usually manage to get the price heavily reduced or basically offset with other discounts. Fro some extra fun/drama, if you watch it on a DVR, hit the slow-motion fast forward button every time EJ throws a deep pass. It is amazing how much suspense it creates watching the ball slowly head toward the receiver.
  17. I used to work for a company that built remediation equipment and one of the sites we had the contract for supplying the ground water remediation equipment for is the current location of both the PNC arena (home of the Carolina Hurricanes & NC State basketball) and Carter-Finley football stadium (NC State football). The property they built the arena & stadium on is the old NC State University's landfill. They used to dump the leftover chemicals from their labs, animal test subjects, basically everything from the university (this was from the 60's to the 80's, environmental concerns weren't a consideration). If you drive on the road between the two stadiums, the steel building at the end (right next to the football practice field) is the building containing the treatment system.
  18. I found this quote interesting: Buffalo overspent for free agent Chris Williams, who takes over at left guard, before finding its new right tackle in rookie Cyrus Kouandjio. After failing multiple team physicals with an arthritic knee, the former first-team All-American from Alabama looms as a boom-or-bust prospect for a line that allowed an outrageous 48 sacks last season, fourth-worst in the NFL. I hadn't heard he had failed multiple physicals.
  19. Make it a retractable dome, then leave it open any time a warm-weather team like Miami plays there in December.
  20. Whaley knows with new owners, a new GM is likely, unless the Bills make it past the first round of the playoffs. The fourth-best OT isn't going to propel us into the playoffs. I see a trade-up with Cleveland, and whichever one of the big 4 is left: Clowney, Mack, Robinson or Watkins.
  21. Do the Bills pay them directly? They have a page full of sponsors on their website.
  22. You mean where the Braves traded owners with the Celtics, then gave away all of our players to the Celtics, then the former owner of the Celtics (who now owned the Braves, a team with almost no players) moved the Braves to San Diego?
  23. Hunger Games-Buffalo style!
