I would take Carr, Delhomme, Grossman and Garrard at a minimun. Not totally down on JP, but lets be realists here
-
Wow, this is the precise kind of factual post that requires a response from those who "know" that J.P. is one of the worst. But it is also the type of post that will be ignored by those making the opposite case. Please, if you believe that JP is a bust, refute this email and prove to me why he is different than these guys.

I posted this last March. Although the circumstances have changed, there is still criticism of Ralph Wilson. Just a reminder I do not post here often but have been following this board since Bob Lamb used to post on the Prodigy Board. I believe that would be the mid-90's. Getting on-line included a lot of fax noises and beeps. The thing I am most amazed about is the animosity toward Ralph Wilson and Marv Levy. Yes, THEY ARE OLD. They are also responsible for a football team being (and staying) in Buffalo, New York (Ralph) and the most successful period in Buffalo Bills history (Marv). Neither one of them shows any signs of dementia ( that would be old age) in any way except in Ralph's voice. My guess would be that many here who are making fun have voices that break at the sight of a Mel Kiper scouting report, not to mention a pair of 36-C's.. Every year, so many of you want us to sign every 30-some has been that used to be all-pro and have a fit when it does not happen. We are now in full-blown "we are doomed" mode, before the draft and the end of free agency. Will you at least look at the roster going into training camp before declaring defeat? Last year, this team beat Cincy at home when it meant something and should have easily beat New England and Miami. That was without Spikes. I am not claiming that this team is a playoff team, but how can you give up already?????? Be VERY GLAD that we still have the Buffalo Bills, that is a long shot to begin with. Stop with the Ralph Depends jokes, alzhiemers references and other predictable old guy jokes. They are predictable and stupid. I am not asking you to put on rose-colored glasses, just asking you to recognize what a ridiculous long-shot it is for Buffalo, New York to have a franchsie in the most successful sport there is and appreciate what happened more than three days ago when we didnt sign the pro-bowler player du jour.

Not without electricity they're not.

Weren't you the touchy feely religious tolerance guy a couple of pages back?

I wonder what turn this thread will take next? Lesson to be learned... there are a lot of old codgers lurking around here
-
You see, freedom of speech gives me the right to think that kids with big hats over their ears worn at silly angles, look like the kids in special class when I was growing up. Second, this is not diversity and subcultures, hell, I think some of the inner city people doing this can pull it off... it is the white suburban gangstas that just look silly and wannabees... your time will come when the styles of the day just make you laugh and wondering why the kids think they look cool... and then you will think... "damn I must be old", but you will still think they look the special class kids
-
Your support on this matter is appreciated. Stop with the stupid hats already. And I called them dungarees when I was a kid too. Old codgers rule.
-
You sound like a fine Christian man. If you are going to talk the talk, walk the walk. I will admire you if you live up to those standards.
-
I can wear my underwear on the outside of my pants, have a tatoo that says "look at me, look at me", have a little toe ring or put my hat on my elbow.... but the "non-judgemental" types will be all over which ever one you think looks stupid... so dont act like you wont judge...
-
No, just trying to make a point about age stereotyping as in "old codgers", but yes, actually I am making fun of the way people wear their hats.
-
Why would his injury "tick you off"? Do you believe he is faking? Ever had a lingering injury? No one is more frustrated than the person who has to live with it. It might tick you off that Takeo is getting older and doesn't heal as quickly, but that is all I can find fault with here.
-
I am not sure if I qualify as an old codger or not but as part of the Baby Boomer generation I have to share my favorite thing about kids today. It is the big hats worn at silly angles. You look exactly like the kids in Special Class when I was young. I know that you don't care what I think and I guess in your mind you picture yourself as some gangsta rapper but to me you just look like the retarded kid on the short bus. The bigger the hat and the stupider the angle, the more ridiculous you look, especially if you are a suburban white kid. So, if people want to B word about old codgers, old codgers are ready to B word back.

My Bills Grades at the Quarter Pole: Offense
Yoho replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The one place I potentially disagree is the tight end grade. On all of the running plays and probably 50% of the passing plays, the tight end is just another offensive lineman. Yet, everybody judges their success on how many catches they make. I have been very impressed with Royal's blocking ability. Give me a solid blocking tight end over some lightweight that makes the occasional big play. I would give them a B- -
Buffalo Bill--- he has a gun

I have watched the Bills forever and no defensive back they have ever had could tackle in the open field like Winfield. It makes me wonder about the scouting reports of some teams when I watch Minnesota play when the opposition throws the quick out to their wide receiver which Winfield closes on and tackles for a two yard loss. He has been doing it forever... go deep on him, go medium on him, please dont go short on him. Don't sweep on his side either... not gonna work.

To those of you that went to the game vs. NY
Yoho replied to Lv-Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Original #12?????????? That would be Darryl Lamonica. Changed numbers when he got to Oakland. Art Powell???????????? For those of you regretting that your kids dont know Joe Ferguson, I feel the same way about those of you who don't understand the pain of Art Powell. -
Pre-drug days there were plenty of these types around. Hell, Kelso and his big helmet were one of those "hit first, worry later" types. Just worry that the speed of the game has passed these guys by.
-
This is even crazier, but I have loved watching Leonhard play. He is probably too slow and too small to be a good NFL player, but has that crazy attitude that just makes you wonder. I am glad he is getting a chance

I don't know what to think. The New England team we are facing has so many holes (Wr's, lb's) it is ridiculous, but because they are Bellichek and the three time Super Bowl champ, it is hard to believe theyare not really good (not to mention the pre seaason). So, I am going into the first week with the hope that Losman has turned it around, Willis is really healthy, the d-line can actually apply some pressure and the Special Teams can carry us to a victory. Go Bills and hopefully life is fair.

This is fun to watch. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6430388913143037646

Does this mean he made the team? How much of an upset is this? Is it possible we have a diamond in the rough here?
-
He is here to show off that he has been right all along, he is not rooting for the Bills, just the opposite, he wants them to suck so he can do his "muhwah"
-
Obvioulsy, some people here are taking great delight in the fact that the Bills are looking bad. Wow, you are right and we are wrong. But we're true fans and you are just a cynical front runner. See you back as a fan when we get better.

Why do I keep coming back to this? Once people voted Tom Sestak off, it just proved that only the post 90 bills have a chance. Sestak was the best defensive tackle in AFL history. And opened a bar with Paul Maguire in Buffalo. Haven't seen Bruce Smith in town lately.
