Justin Zimmer signed to active roster
BuffaloBobs replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's easy to like and made a huge play but I think you've got to look at him in the mold of someone like Bacarri Rambo from seasons past. A guy who made some splash plays with his limited opportunities and built some notoriety as a result, but should be little more than a stopgap based on the entirety of his play. -
This team is battle tested and finds ways to win
BuffaloBobs replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Dolphins rode a special teams touchdown and defensive touchdown to surprise the Rams -- that's not sustainable. 93 yards and 1 touchdown isn't beating the Bengals or Chargers 9 times out of 10 with the way their rookies are playing, let alone the Chiefs, Raiders or Cardinals (all are on the Dolphins remaining schedule). And don't forget they've already dropped two divisional games. This team is winning their divisional games, 6-2, and has a couple quality wins against the Raiders and Rams -- two teams that are well in the playoff hunt. Don't understand the negativity whatsoever, JUST WIN BABY! -
I really hope Mitch Morse retires.
BuffaloBobs replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get the negativity whatsoever. I hope Mitch Morse doesn't have concussion symptoms, is healthy next week and plays out his entire contract and retires as a Buffalo Bill and Super Bowl champion. Let's at the very least wait and see what his symptoms are and what his recovery is like before wishing him an early end to his career. My god. -
Minshew: Multiple Fractures, Ligament Damage in Thumb
BuffaloBobs replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get why so many teams make the same mistakes over and over again. This is a talent deprived team at 1-6 -- before his injury there's literally no reason to go from Minshew to Mike freaking Glennon. Why teams pull young starters on terrible teams for the Kyle Allen's and Mike Glennon's of the world is beyond me. -
No complaints here, but with the way the Patriots are set up around Newton this is less important than in years past. It's still going to come down to stopping the run and not letting them beat us over the top.

Is the Bill's Mafia, etc., full of complainers?
BuffaloBobs replied to Michael1962's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's sad -- we've won more the last three years than any time in my adult life and people want to go back to square one. -
MONGO! Feliciano activated
BuffaloBobs replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice trolling. They've moved Ford from tackle to guard and he's started 22 games in less than two seasons. Is there room for growth, absolutely but he's already contributed more than so many of our top two picks from the drought: paging Torelle Troup, James Hardy, Aaron Mabin, John McCargo to name four right off the top of my head. -
Bills have 3 of top 15 highest rated pass rushers
BuffaloBobs replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's what I see when I watch the games too. The problem is we get gashed on the ground and it's tough to get home when your opponent is averaging 10+ YPC and they can throw play action at you all game -- I would also imagine with the injuries to our linebackers we are asking a lot of our edge defenders to hold contain rather than get home in the pass rush because our backups there either lack the recognition skills or athleticism (Klein) to hold the edge in the run game. -
Is the Bill's Mafia, etc., full of complainers?
BuffaloBobs replied to Michael1962's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely -- we're 5-2 leading the division by three games and you would think we've yet to win a game with the way some of the more vocal folks here and on social media complain. -
Sean McDermott is the 2nd Best Coach in Bills History
BuffaloBobs replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think at this point Wade Phillips and Sean McDermott are about equal as Buffalo Bills coaches on record alone. Wade had slightly more regular season success over three seasons but he inarguably inherited a better team than McDermott did. For me, it's McDermott's development of Josh Allen that puts him above Wade. If that continues he'll be in rarified company as one of only two Buffalo Bills head coaches to develop a franchise quarterback. -
First Confirmation of Trent Murphy on the Block Rumors
BuffaloBobs replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they move him for a late round pick I would have to think it's to create cap space to make another move. I am not sure that late round draft picks have much of a chance of making the team next year, especially if post-COVID the practice squad's shrink and the rules change back to normal. -
Bengals trade Carlos Dunlap to Seattle
BuffaloBobs replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get the fascination with adding older overpriced veterans on the decline when the top complaint about our defensive line is that we have too many older overpriced veterans on the decline. -
Dontari Poe to be released by Cowboys
BuffaloBobs replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would take a hard look at Poe -- we don't have anyone filling that space eater role successfully and it's a role that he could fill even if his athleticism is diminishing in terms of his ability to rush the passer. If he's released and can be acquired for nothing it is totally worth taking a look at. -
I wouldn't hate kicking the tires depending on where Wallace and Norman are with their recoveries. We're an Dane Jackson injury away from seriously looking at Isiah McKenzie lining up outside. Unfortunately, his time with the Panther this season doesn't likely give McDermott much insight into him as the staff has completely turned over. But on upside alone you'd have to think there could be value there at the veteran minimum.

Phins Shopping CB Xavien Howard
BuffaloBobs replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sounds like other teams have inquired not that the Dolphins are shopping him. The only way I would consider it if I were the Dolphins would be for a Jalen Ramsey type haul but I can't imagine a team coughing that up. -
Can we give some love to Cole Beasley?
BuffaloBobs replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's been great -- I've been particularly impressed with his ability to climb the ladder and pull in some high fastballs from Josh Allen despite his short stature. -
Favorite non bills color analyst
BuffaloBobs replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I loved Gus Johnson back when he used to do NFL games -- although I think he was more play by play than color. -
I share your fear about the Patriots -- we haven't beat them, let alone had a home playoff game of our own so I am far from counting them out. It is crazy to me how quickly after Brady's departure the issues that many of us saw with the team on the personnel side the last few years have proven to be their demise. The poor drafting of late, bad trades, and lack of impact free agent signings on offense have really caught up with them without Brady magic to paper over all the issues and hold the thing together. BB is a Hall of Fame coach, no doubt, but Brady is certainly looking like the engine that made that team go at this point.

I am not sure he's a huge upgrade over any of our starters and probably doesn't help us much with our trouble stopping the run which seems like is more of a interior defense line issue. That being said, Frasier knows him as well as anyone and depth this season is going to be more valuable than a late round pick in the offseason so if the staff thinks they can get something out of him, I would pull the trigger.
-
It really isn't worth talking about because there isn't anyone who would be a sure upgrade that is available. Jacksonville went through five different kickers trying to replace an injured Josh Lambo and most were complete disasters. Veteran starters Jake Elliot, Dustin Hopkins, and Stephen Gostkowski have all been objectively less reliable than Bass while Dan Bailey, Matt Prater, Zane Gonzalez, and Sam Sloman are all right around Bass in field goal percentage. The point is we're far from alone with kicking troubles and it's telling that teams for the most part are sticking with their starters rather than kicking the tires on free agents. Bass has the leg strength, is great on kickoffs and is only a rookie. I would much rather take my lumps trying to develop him into something (in the absence of an obvious upgrade) than have the same issues with an unreliable veteran that doesn't have the kickoff and 50+ leg strength and growth potential.
