Bills sign Kenny Stills to PS
BuffaloBobs replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get the rush to change things for an offense and special teams that are clicking on all cylinders. If one of our guys can't go, I'm happy to have Stills as an option but I would far prefer to run our top six -- Diggs, Brown, Beasley, Davis, McKenzie, and Roberts in their usual roles. If you can -
[Misleading Title] Antonio W. Harkens FredEX

Both undrafted free agents out of the University of North Carolina too -- strange coincidence. -
I would definitely look at it (and FWIW I have zero faith in Tua and would be looking to make a change if I was in charge there). But if you just drafted Tua in the top five, unless you've completely given up on him (ala Rosen in Arizona), can get major value in a trade, or are in love with what is likely to be the third quarterback off the board, I don't know how you make that move at three rather than trying to build an offense around him and give him a chance to sink or swim in year two.

A little bit reminiscent of Willie Parker running wild against the Bills in the season closer in 2004 -- perhaps a preview of things to come. That said, not down on Singletary or Moss at all -- if he has any special teams ability it wouldn't be a surprise at all to see him on the 53 next year. -
This is absolutely correct IMHO Stills gives us some cover for both Brown and Beasley if either is unable to fully fill their respective rolls coming off injury, and a second depth option outside if our starters don't go the full game Sunday. Special teams has played well all year, and with our tight ends and Davis as other options already dressing for size in the red zone he just adds more value at the moment than someone like Kumerow or Williams.

Week 16: Sunday Games Around the League
BuffaloBobs replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dolphins have the Houston pick, so want them to win as much as possible I assume. -
This is the only play that makes sense. Barkley/Fromm active Week 17 -- Josh Allen in a bubble safe from COVID/injury. TBH getting Fromm his first NFL reps, along with letting Barkley shake the rust off would be good just in case disaster strikes in the playoffs.
-
In this hypothetical wouldn't we quarantine Allen and let him have the week preparing for our potential playoff opponents and go with Barkley-Fromm. In a game with no seeding implications, having Allen active to either be forced into the game because of injury to Barkley/Fromm and/or potentially exposed to COVID seems like a bad idea.

Playbooks staying and leaving with Daboll
BuffaloBobs replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would be foolish to try and stop him from leaving. If the staff is serious about keeping him, letting him know that he's valued and that we're willing to sweeten his compensation and extend his contract if he decides to stay or doesn't want a Head Coaching opportunity is about all you can do. No contract is going to keep someone who wants to be a Head Coach from leaving if one of the other thirty-one teams comes calling and they want to make the move. If anything, I would be looking at who on the staff would take his place if he decides to leave, along with which positional coaches would be priorities to retain, so we can try to keep them before they jump ship with Daboll. -
This is such a great sign for a healthy and confident organization. If I am a coach with Head Coach aspirations, seeing that ownership and the rest of leadership is going to encourage and support my growth, even if it leads me away from the team has to make the the culture attractive. If you compare that to teams that in the past have blocked coaches from even interviewing for other positions, I know which organization I would rather be a part of for sure.

Ok This Dolphins talk is getting out of hand.

Tua Tagovailoa -- 93 yards, 1 touchdown He's not to need to be A LOT better to be as good as Fitzpatrick has been for them through the first part of the season, let alone to go on a run. Can't count on four first half turnovers, a defensive touchdown and a special teams touchdown every week to get you across the finish line. -
They have not been able to, which is why if Seattle is banged up and we can stop the run that would bode well for our defense. The other option is to drop into a shell and let them control the game like the Chiefs did against us and we did against the Patriots, which is I guess what your suggesting. I don't think that will work because of how talented Wilson and their receivers are.

Justin Zimmer signed to active roster
BuffaloBobs replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The legend of Rambo with those two interceptions against Aaron Rodgers still makes me smile. -
I think you missed my point. The only chance is making the game one dimensional by eliminating the run game and forcing Wilson to get the ball out quickly. Wilson is a great quarterback in the pocket, outside the pocket, on the run. He's incredible. I just think our chances of winning rely pressuring him in the pocket as a pure passer. If he's regularly extending the play outside the pocket and dropping dimes I don't know if we have the guns to hang with them.

All wins are ugly in this league
BuffaloBobs replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Raiders have wins against the Saints, Chiefs and Browns -- they're a quality team. The Dolphins and Patriots also aren't pushovers which is why you've got them as tossups in your schedule for the rest of the year, so let's give the team some credit for beating them once already, especially because the Dolphins offense looked night and day better with Fitzpatrick (who we beat) and the Patriots were literally playing for their season. As for your sure losses, Cardinals have lost to the Lions and Panthers. Those are both teams that we are objectively better than. San Francisco is dealing with some of the worst injuries that I have ever seen and who knows what they will look like when we play them. Seattle has played almost every game tight with one score games against the Dolphins, Vikings (one point), and Cowboys. Any given Sunday in the NFL and I wouldn't count them out in any of the remaining games. IMHO the toughest three games of our schedule are Chiefs, Titans, and Steelers and we've got two of three out of the way already and are at 6-2. -
If it's me we put White on Lockett to ride or die and try and scheme to always have safety help for Wallace/Norman against DK on the other side. FWIW we seem to struggle with size -- Parker, Mims, Kupp more than speed guys like Hill this season and last. Dallas only averaged 2.3 yards per carry and 3.4 yards per catch against the 49ers so your eyes may deceive you there. If they can't take advantage of our soft run defense either because we got out to a quick start or because of injuries I give us a much better chance.

We can hang with anyone -- look at the games the Titans, Chiefs and Ravens have dropped this season. Any given Sunday... -
If Seattle doesn't have Chris Carson running the ball their offense should be pretty one dimensional. If you can keep Russel Wilson in the pocket and our secondary plays up to snuff it might be a halfway decent matchup for our defense. DK worries me though as we've had trouble with bigger physical receivers this year and last.

If the playoffs began today we'd play the Colts at home. If you don't think there's at least an even chance that we could beat the Colts -- who lost to the Browns and Jaguars and nearly to the Bengals, I don't know what to tell you. This is the most talented and promising team that we've seen in decades. -
OFFICIAL: LB Darron Lee signed to Bills PS
BuffaloBobs replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The question is will Lee be in position to make the play. Here's hoping because we could really use some help there
