I missed when this offense became not elite. -
Still slow burning over bad calls in Texans' game

I think they'd be saying Carter was an idiot for not taking a knee, like every other touchback I can remember. -
Booger and the other idiots going "common sense officiating prevails" Officiating doesn't use common sense in most instances. There is a clear way to give yourself up. Either let the ball bounce, or take a knee. Devin Hester used to walk the ball out slowly before taking off all the time. Carter advanced the ball and then threw it. The ref was initially about to announce the correct call of an illegal forward pass resulting in a safety before Al Riveron or whoever decided the rulebook didn't matter. I guess maybe we should excuse muffed punts now. After all, the player was trying to catch the ball and that's all that should matter. The ref he was throwing it to even got out of the way because he realized the play was not dead.

David Njoku, TE Browns, on the trading block...
Boxcar replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You'd trade Edmunds for literally anyone, so it isn't saying much. -
I don't think it's that weird. You guys are openly celebrating an injury to a player simply because he's a long time Patriot. That's gross. Of course, you freely apply the label "dirty player" to every Patriot, and that gives you all the justification you need. I'm trying to be your therapist. It isn't healthy to harbor this level of hatred. Let it go, and be free. They have been conquered already.

The refs and the league are two separate entities. Literally. Weird jump from Tom Brady to a convicted murderer, but ok. Very hilarious!

Schein - Nine Make-or-Break players for 2021 (Ed Oliver)

To act like some are in this thread and think every top ten pick should be a roaring success is laughable. That's not how drafts work. -
Slater could go in the 4-7 range, too.

Ok, but the reality is that he isn't what a 9th overall pick is "supposed" to be, so we either make the best of the situation or do nothing and complain about it. -
In some of those mocks you can do, Horn is making it pretty close to 30. With his injury, Farley could fall, too. If neither of those two are there, I'd take BPA (even if it's Najee Harris) and then trade up in round 2 to get Samuel.

You can't guarantee anything for any draftee. Trevor Lawrence could be an average QB. Kyle Pitts could be a mediocre TE. Given where he was drafted, should Oliver be able to do more on his own? Sure. It is what it is, though, make the best of it. -

Not sure I agree with that. It's a team game. One of the reasons I think Mitch Morse gets pooped on so much is because he has to make up for the inadequacies at guard. Hopefully Feliciano plays better and Ford is solid to show some proof. Other Bills players are the same: Edmunds is way better with Milano on the field (and I still can't get over how it's not widespread thought that Milano is an amazing LB), and Poyer and Hyde are better together than they would be individually. Unless you're Aaron Donald, or TJ Watt or Joey/Nick Bosa, you definitely need a supporting cast to perform at your best and I don't think it's wrong just because Oliver went 9th overall. There are a tiny number of players who can carry a defense on their backs. -

Not entirely fair, Oliver was out of position quite a bit. We really need a true 1T for him to shine.- 71 replies

I am very apprehensive about completely discounting NE. They spent a good chunk of change on two good pass catching TEs for short to intermediate throws, which are the only ones Cam can make, which I think was smart. Agholor seems like a weird player to overpay for, but whatever. Hightower is returning. Van Noy is back. Chung is back. They got Judon on the Edge. I think they could resemble the Steelers from last year where they rely on a lot of dink and dunk passes 2 ish seconds post snap and rely on defense to carry them, which won't be easy to deal with. I think the Bills are much better, and more complete, but I can see a scenario where they kinda give us a scare late in the year. I also think they are better than Miami, for this year at least. I'm just grateful they had to settle for Cam again, because if they landed Watson, I would be terrified.

I love the Bills. I'm just capable of more than the caveman thought process of "UGGG MY TEAM GOOD THAT TEAM BAD!! HIS LEG HURT, GOOD!!!" I like watching good football. The Patriots created one of the greatest dynasties in NFL history and I'm capable of looking beyond divisional rivalry bias to appreciate that. I love dynasties in all sports, even when they are teams I dislike. The late 90s Yankees, potentially the current LA Dodgers, the mini dynasty of the Chicago Blackhawks, the mid 90s Colorado Avalanche, etc. But you know, Brady modeled Uggs one time!!! Lol!!!

Imagine being so petty that you despise the best QB ever just because your team lost to his almost every time.

Yeah, I read it. He shilled for a drink while Russell Wilson acted like it was a miracle. His company doesn't sell it, and he never sold it. It's not a great look but I honestly don't care. Anyone who believes a sports drink can cure concussions is an idiot anyway. I don't have a problem with capitalism, I don't care if Brady has the audacity to make more money. Basically, your list was "he was too good and I need justification to hate him."

1&2 aren't his fault 3 is done by literally every player in the league. Diggs got a few PI calls this way and we all cheered. 4 didn't hear about that, but I don't trust you've framed that fairly 5 hopefully no one on this board has been so vain as to pay for cosmetic surgery. Wanting to look good is a moral failing? 6 weird but clearly not sexual. This is scraping the bottom of the barrel. 7 just looked through the website, nothing really popped out as blatantly pseudo scientific. He does not sell concussion water and he wasn't even the one to make the claim. Being an investor in something is not the same as selling it under your own brand. I was expecting the sports version of goop. Oh no! Protein powder and electrolytes! 8 that you care about this amuses me 9 if it's so blatant, why did he get away with it? The NFL has not been in Brady's corner. 10 probably because he's wondering why the hell he'd be implicated in equipment sabotage, which isn't under his jurisdiction. Not sure if you remember, but he was being threatened with a suspension over it. Brady doesn't really seem any more of a douche than your average NFL player. But whatever, I will recede into the bushes and let you guys throw tantrums over things like Brady wearing the wrong shoes or eating a weird dressing on his salad.

Sorry, should have made it clear. I find the level and intensity of vitriol to be very weird.
