And why does the NFL insist we get a new stadium ? They insist us regular people kick in $500 million towards a new stadium we dont need, and then us regular people pay resulting double our ticket price just so 32 people who are already billionaires can make more money?? And you somehow think 32 people like that are not against a 'small' market like Buffalo? The team will stay in Buffalo out of no good will - it will stay because these 32 people are stuck with the 6 yrs remaining on the lease and they can do little about it. If they felt they could somehow move this team away and get more than market value - they would do so in a minute !! Yes you say this but - its based on WHAT????? Someone you know saw such language in the trust agreement? You claim its there... I claim its not (else it would have been leaked to make RW look good).
-
It might aid you if you read and comprehended a bit better. For the 1000th time I expect the team to stay here - read it. I feels however its due to the LEASE agreement having 6 yrs remaining on it - its NOT due to the alice in wonderland belief that RW gave a directive to the trust to sell only to in town bidders.

He took over a 3-11 team took them to 5-9 7-9 11-5 10-6 then 4-5 strike season Thats 5 seasons - brought first AFC East title in 15 years brought first back to back playoffs in 15 years He orchestrated the OJ trade which was brilliant He also did this when his owner let the #1 pick overall get away to sign with Canada He left only because he saw the lack of committment by the owner - proven the next year by not signing Jim kelly in 1983 and letting 4 time probowl Joe Cribbs leave to USFL (surprise surprise we go 2-14 & 2-14 gee who caused that???) He left for Seattle where he brought them their 1st AFC west title

Now that we may no longer have an owner who would out of spite block the true names from going up on the wall of fame. When will the following deserving names be placed up there? 1- Cookie Gilchrist 2- Lou Saban 3- Chuck Knox These men deserve their names up there more than perhaps 90% of the names up there now.

Logic - higher bidders from LA are scared off because of the remaining years on the lease - for the 1000th time its the Lease in place with 6 years remaining that is keeping out of town bidders away NOT a directive from RW to the trust to only sell to local people. We fans are in a good spot because this transfer occurred so early in the lease which is keeping this from a true highest bidder wins situation. Its now highest bidder wins who is also willing to not move the team for 6 years. If non-relocation was indeed the top priority over more money - then a look at JAx sale in 2011 at 780 million...allow a 5-10% inflation and you hit a fair value near 900 million - offer to a known local owner like Pegula and deal is done - team stays and the family made out well. All actions indicate the TOP priority is to make RW and NFL owners most money possible on the sale - if it happens to be to a local owner who keeps the team here - thats fine too. Or do you think a Pegula would balk at a $900 million offer? A quick reminder to how these folks think. Remember when we were on the brink of a Superbowl trophy where maybe 1 more addition could put us over the top and win a trophy all us fans would die for? Then RW and his buddy Littman (on the committee) cheap out and we lose all pro LT Will Wolford over maybe 2 million dollars. At the time RW was clearing perhaps 25 million/year in profit. Littman and Ralph chose to take the 25m profit and no wolford over the 23m profit and keep wolford locked up. This is how they operate. 2 million more for 1 person and screw the million fans who would die for the SB win. Yes Colts put a clause in contract difficult to match - this decision (as told by Polian) was done a year earlier when Polian asked Littman to lock up Wilford before he hits FA market and open us up to a clause like the one we didnt match

Any potential bidder would be aware the dictaes of the trust (the public would not know this), Or are you indicating bandit and twobills drive know this directive but actual bidders do not??? They are going to take the highest bid - and because 6yrs still exist (*thank god for us) the big bids from out of town did not bother... However that is v different from saying RW told the Trust to not sell to relocating interests etccc making RW looking like a savior If only 1 year existed on that lease - we would be crying the blues about losing the team to a very high bid from out of town
-
I dont believe them because it would be a gesture of good will and taking less than what they can get - that is exactly how the NFL does NOT operate, Just the fact that they are talking to Toronto group rather than simply directly with Pegula to wrap up a deal indicates relocation is a 2ndary concern Why even interview a Toronto group?
-
Ok then why has it been perfectly ok to state that such a directive exists? (Since nobody can prove whats in thr Trust directive) but for some reason its not ok to state that such a directive does not exist. There would be a huge PR gain to leak such a directive because it makes RW look wonderful - yet we dont see it. So common sense tells you its simply not there. But they allow the phoney speculation to go on that such a directive is in there because it benefits them
-
Buffalo is very very lucky the changing of hands occurred while there were still a good number of years left on that lease which would have been made weaker and weaker with each passing year, The idea that RW gave any directive (above and beyond the lease) to the trust to take anything other than the highest bid I think is total lala land BS. Also I think people are dreaming if the 32 NFL owners wouldnt just love to have some type of tycoon offer $5 billion for the team and simply sit on it until it could be moved and screw small town Buffalo. Those 32 owners include the Wilsons
-
See how the NFL works? Like pushing/demanding Erie County tax payers to pony up 400 million for a stadium so those same people can then get to pay double the price? All that for whom? 32 rich greedy people at the expense of million common people. They have clearly shown their hand/greed. Why again is there a blackout rule ? Team stays here because Pegula bids the most - period. That's the 'common sense' in play here. We both expect the team to stay here - we just differ on why we think they stay. Everything you point to is because of the LEASE - I agree that the lease publicly known is helping keep the team here along with Pegulas cash. NOTHING indicates there was a directive to the trust to take anything other than the highest bid. I dont believe that directive exists - I do believe the lease exists and do believe Pegulas has cash.
-
Nobody has even indicated what the wording (in general) states that prevents relocation, Its been a long time for that type of info not to have been leaked. Only way its not been leaked is it does not exist at all -its a myth, Bids and other items have been 'leaked' - why wouldnt the general wording/directive in the trust be leaked in some way? Only items keeping team here is the Lease known publicly cannot be broken for 6 years and that a local Buffalo bidder happens to be the highest bidder given that 6 year condition left on the lease.
-
Until you or anyone can point to language in the trust agreement that indicates that - it is just words (not to be sold to anyone moving team), I bank my hopes on the fact Pegula is high bidder with cash - not on the goodwill of the Wilsons that all this time has only been speculated
-
Agreed - as long as they dont offer $3billion I dont think we want to test the degree that the Wilson Trust is committed to keeping in Buffalo - Pegulas strongest card has been high bidder in cash
-
Can you explain why the Toronto group losing Jon Bon Jovi can now bid much higher does not potentially change anything? Either the Toronto group is totally out - or they can now bid much much higher than when JBJ was their front man.

Kyle Orton rumor [update : now signed]

Yep Hall of Fame QBs never have their passes dropped by defenders - that only happens to EJ so we cannot count that game winning drive. Ever see Charlie Romes drop the pass from Dan Fouts in our playoff loss? -

Amazing how you flat out GUESS how the coaches treat EJ and then you blast them for it - just great !! By the way - almost every coach in the league pump up their QBs - its a game of confidence and they want their qbs as confident as possible... -

Accuracy cannot be improved via practice with WRs? Or getting more and more used to the speed of the NFL game? Why even practice then? Drew Brees often practices at targets - you must consider that a waste of time? -
Kyle Orton rumor [update : now signed]

Kyle Orton is just ONE example of how dumb the WGR argument (bulldog & Jeremy) is that the sammy watkins trade costing us next years #1 means we cannot possibly obtain a QB to play if EJ were to get hurt or fail... Next season likely Rams QB Sam Bradford hits the market too - being another example QBs quality play are a result of many variables (its not fantasy football) - veteran QBs who had their play diminish under their salary level because they hit a team with a poor coach or poor Oline or poor team that wants to do a rebuild etccc can rebound to a new team - look at Kurt Warner and his NY Giants situation - Breet Favre provided Vikes ok play And here is the kicker - the fact that Sammy Watkins is on our roster helps attract any of these freed up veteran QBs to sign with Buffalo -
The Bills can say all they want regarding playing a power running game to help EJ. You cannot have a power run game with weakness at guards and your tight end a tall finesse blocker like Chandler. Power running teams are extra strong at those positions - not weaker. Trade CJ Spiller this week for a Guard or Tight End that can help the other runners run and allow EJ more time to progress. Move Kuonjo inside for now to battle with the OGs and let Seantrell Henderson/Pears and Cordy Glenn be your OTs Eric Wood - its time for you to take your status as a rare 1st rd choice spent on a center and become an all pro.
-
Most teams that win are dominant/over powering in one aspect of the game that the opposition just cant handle. They then have the rest of the team just 'hold the fort'. By the end of this year our defensive line may be clearly identified as the dominant line in football - we do not want to throw that away. When we have a QB on his first contract we can afford to pay the other parts of the team - if you have something very special - keep it !!
-
If we get Pegula - we remove the self imposed salary caps on coaches, GMs and scouting staffs. We also likely scrap Ralph's cash to the cap rule and actually play a season where we are not 30million under the cap. New owner, 4th richest in NFL - he does not buy a championship but we start competing for one without our hands always tied behind our backs !
-
The alternative is having a talented player you draft in rd2 who plays for Bills at a low salary for 2015 2016 2017 & 2018 or have zero for 2015 2016 2017 & 2018 or if all in for this year? get a talented TE in a player for player deal or talented OLB
-
Yes - and that just means this staff would want a body in return (Tight end or OG or LB) instead of a draft pick
-
Can Kuanjo move inside to OG ?

Artvoice stadium plan (downtown)
jahbonas replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely - everyone under estimates the importance of train travel to regionalization of the Buffalo /Niagara Falls /Rochester area. We will never be united as 1 economic zone with out it.
