Louis Riddick @LRiddickESPN 9m9 minutes ago If u allow Gronk to detach from the core, matchup vs a 5'9" corner, & have free access off the line, u should be replaced as d-coordinator.

I think we all knew we were building talent on the defensive side - but we saw it wasted by Wanny - then we saw it improved but still troublesome under Pettine - now with Schwartz we have the right mix of run & pass defense #1 in sacks #2 in run defense (71 yrds) ..... Pettine has Browns at 29th 152yrds #2 in 3rd down Pct (31%) Last year #2 in sacks #28 in run defense (128 yrds) #13 in 3rd down Pct ( 37%) Coaching means a lot in this league

Marrone, Hackett, Whaley, & Company Over their heads

News - you can acquire a quality QB other than a top 10 pick. News - having Sammy on the roster will attract a veteran FA Qb who would hit the market, To use your boy Polians philosophy - 1st team all pros are very valuable and you do whats needed to acquire them (like he did for Corny Bennett) - the Bills are a quality veteran QB away from making an impact and maybe a G or T drafted in 2nd 3rd rds -
EJ's scouting report also mentioned he had size and was mobile and could run. Incredibly this staff has taken this out of his arsenal to a point that Phillip Rivers and Fitz are scrambling for more 1st downs than our young qb. This staff does not believe in the kid - they dont let him run - when they pass its more often than not a pass thats within 3 yards of the line of scrimmage - you cannot play in this league that way, If our roster was awful i'd say stick with ej and let him grow - but this roster is playoff level in talent and a veteran qb could drive them to a playoff appearance - make the move

I would not include Whaley with the staff and inexperienced OC. Whaley has made some great moves. Sammy Watkins is a game changer difference maker who will be on this team for a decade. Whaley said bye bye to Byrd and his 9 million demand and signed Aaron Williams for 5 yrs at 5 million signed mike williams signed spikes signed corey graham traded a bust shepperd for DE Jerry Hughes I loved Bill Polian but this is a young mans' league as Bill was when given his opportunity in 1980s and 90s. Whaley should stay big time - this roster has more talent up and down. Make a switch to a competent veteran like Orton and lets see how this team does -
And I bet that success rate of 65% rises over 70% if the team is playing at home

Joe B's Upon Further Review: Dolphins at Bills
jahbonas replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly right - its incredible how Joe B opinion is gospel and unfortunately it shapes the opinions of WNY fans via WGR. Joe B needs to understand - we do not care about YOUR opinion - we care about the opinion of the scouts/coaches/players you may have access to. Paul Hamilton does the same thing. Offering their own opinion is poor reporting its easy its lazy. The great reporting is finding ways to get those who are the experts - not you PRETENDING to be an expert. -
As a group they crucified EJ Manuel before even game 1 much based upon Joe B's reports from camp. Newsflash guys - Joe B is a kid reporter - he is not a scout or coach and from many of his reports he offers his own opinion from the sidelines (not the inside opinions of coaches who watch film in addition to live action. They run a poll asking will EJ be yanked after game 1? game 2? or game 4? And then go on to claim thats not EJ bashing.

Thank you - you pay nice attention to detail

In your assurances that the team stays local. Do you consider the JBJ group with Toronto just as likely to keep the team local as Pegula buying the team? Maybe because a JBJ group signs an agreement of some kind?
-
Its all about wanting to know indeed the assurances RW put in place to make sure us million WNY fans could keep our team. If shown he did via instructions to the Trust then we treat his name and memory very very well. If its shown no real provision put in place other than the lease and Thank God Pegula was highest bidder - then I think the treatment of RW name and memory is very different. I do believe in the end Pegula will get the team - but its v important to me to see how much RW cared about this community in assurances he may have taken to make sure it stayed. If it was virtually put up to highest bidder who could tolerate the remaining years on the lease - thats a nothing of an assurance had this transaction occurred just a few yrs later.
-
You could be right - and if you are the Pegulas and bid higher and win the bid. How liking of the Trust and RW might you be after such a process?? If I'm Pegulas I say no reference to RW in the stadium if they dealt in such a way
-
"Hence the lack of outside bidders" is due to the Lease itself that still has 6 years on it - and thank God this transfer of the team occurred while so many years still existed. The lease cannot be broken and because so will keep away many bids. That has nothing to due with the Trust - all these claims that RW instructed to the Trust to sell locally is all wishful thinking - until any of us are shown otherwise
-
There is zero proof this is in place at all - only thing anyone knows is the lease thats public. And exactly what degree of proof must a buyer offer the trust to allow them to walk away with the most money and claim its safe that the group wont ever move the team?? Pegula and his local ties we know will not move the team ever - its v v v irksome that anyone with no real local ties is able to possibly win the bid.
-
Let what go??? Our franchise??? Sorry its way too important to be so dismissive - and yes if the team stays I do want to know what provisions Ralph made to keep the team here - because if he did I'd want to thank his family and be behind an effort to have a statue put in his name. If however he provided no directive above the existing lease and its simply Pegula paying more than JBJ - then sorry no statue and no name on stadium.
-
Meaning nothing put in place or directive to make sure it goes to a local bidder?
-
They should not even be considered since they really cannot be trusted to keep the team in Buffalo. I dont care what they may sign. What happens if JBJ offers 1.5 and Pegula offers 1.3?
-
Tim Graham @ByTimGraham 5m Pegula bid is in. Trump bid is in. And I'm told the Bon Jovi/Toronto group is quietly confident it can pull off an upset. How would this even be possible (selecting a JBJ Toronto group over a Pegula bid) if in fact the trust was instructed to keep them team local? This does not jive with what Bandit27 has been saying??
-
Where oh where is this directive in the Trust?????? No such directive exists - what does exist is a Lease keeping team here 6 years

Do you even know who Lou Saban was?
-
He was loyal to "yes men" - not great at their job but they got along with RW Chuck Knox left because no committment - his owner chose to not sign #1 pick overall in NFL draft 1979 and he was correct whe RW saved money again letting Joe Cribbs go to USFL and Jim Kelly go to USFL - Knox said bye bye and brought division titles to seattle and Buffalo went back to back 2-14 John Butler left likely due to the wade phillips issue - Butler wanted Wade back in San Diego We have not been to the playoffs since Butler left - by the way Butler was 3rd lowest paid GM when he left even though the Bills under Polian and him made playoffs 11 of 12 prior years. Compare that now to 0-14 and counting
-
Agreed - Let go of the grudges and put Lou Saban's name up on the wall Chuck Knox left Bill Polian left John Butler left All brought great success - gee I wonder why they all left?
-
I grew up in Erie County too.... How about telling RW to be grateful for the championships delivered by Lou Saban and then the return of Lou to take the Bills from nowhere to somewhere and rightfully put his name where it belongs - on the wall of fame!!! Without his name up there - lets just call it the wall of ralphs friends....since the top criteria is to be friendly to RW - else no name up there.....
-
Very true and we as fans reserve the right to describe what he does any way we wish: Why is Lou Saban's name not up on that wall?? was this a kind act of RW? Why did Jim Kelly sign with USFL instead of Bills? Why did Joe Cribbs sign with the USFL? Where did Ahmad Rashad go to? Where did Will Wolford go to? Where did the #1 NFL draft pick go to? We the people of Erie County built the stadium for him and this is how he responded? And we thank him for his generosity and then name the stadium after him?? And this guy is in the hall of fame? amazing.....
