    That may be true, Daboll might be gone next year, but honestly I think he's done for Josh all he needed to do. Thankfully he was given the time (several seasons) to work with him and get him to the point where Josh can take it and run with it now - even if there's a new O coordinator.

    Beane always seems to be prepared for just about any situation / outcome. At least that's how it appears from the outside - sounds like he wanted to make sure they maintained a cushion for any late training camp issue / injury / cost-cutting drop by another team. Wonder if that plays at all into the Josh contract issue ??? The cap experts will know way better than me.

    To your point... I'm not sure why they didn't just schedule a joint practice with the Panthers so Beane and McDermott could check out all the guys they'll be kicking the tires on (or signing) next season.
