  1. It appears that the offer was made at the end of last season. So it's been two months, and no signing yet...
  2. Wait, so wtf happened here?
  3. He had a worse completion percentage than JP did this year (59.4 vs. 60.6), but a better TD%, was sacked less frequently, and threw fewer interceptions per attempt. I can't conclusively say that he's better than JP, but I don't think he was significantly worse. However, the Bills really could have used an older vet QB who could have taught Edwards something about the game, not some guy who kept the lights on when Palmer got hurt.
  4. http://tinyurl.com/awzmoz That's the Ryan Fitzpatrick model.
  5. The Bills will not be competitive in 2009 barring a major miracle from Edwards, Lynch, and Evans. Check back in 2010, the 11 year anniversary of our rebuilding plan.
  6. Man, when I said I wanted the Bills to bring in a veteran QB to mentor Trent, I didn't mean with his algebra homework.
  7. It's really not.
  8. Well, to Trent's continued health.
  9. Any sense on how accurate Buffalorumblings is? I have no idea. I guess all we know from Chris Brown is that Coles left One Bills Drive. It's certainly possible he left to go talk things over with his agent at a hotel, and they'll meet up later - I get the sense Russ doesn't tell Brown anything.
  10. Hartwick and Dielman are still happily employed by the Chargers. Released were OG Mike Goff and C Jeremy Newberry. Olshansky is a UFA.
  11. My only hope here is that Brown reporting that Coles has left means that Simmons and Hangartner haven't.
  12. No contract signed, off presumably to his next team. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2009/02/27/w...-fa-visit-over/ UPDATE: Coles may not be gone yet. Buffalo Rumblings has a lot of good feelings coming out of the meeting, and that Coles is sticking around: I guess it's possible that Brown saw him leave, and didn't know why.
  13. I think it's about this: sportstalk show host is a dream job. THat's what gets me angry - they have a job that consists of talking about sports, and they blow it off like it's sales associate at Dunder-Mifflin.
  14. Okay, here's the line that pissed me off: "I haven't watched Baltimore...I've barely even watched the Bills' center" That's on Jason Brown - that's inexcusable. Anyway, of course, the solution is to turn it off, but what's frustrating is that this is a great football town that could really use expert analysis. It's a live day - things are different now than they were when the News was published early this morning. I like reading what all you guys have to say, but it's worth getting an expert opinion every now and then. And it's not like national shows cover too much of the Jabari Greer/Terrence McGee debate. I want a professional who has watched every Bills game, broken down the film, and can offer an opinion over the course of four hours on a weekday afternoon.
  15. I'm really getting the impression that any information they get, they get from reading the Internet and the Buffalo News. It's not even so much the scoops - they do get those every now and then - it's the fact that the hosts readily admit they have no particular skill at football analysis and are just going off what they read. Honest, sure, but is it really true that WGR can't hire an actual guy with football knowledge? There's no retired assistant coach somewhere who'd come on?
  16. I don't really think that his contract had a lot of guaranteed money that'll hurt our cap situation.
  17. Can McKelvin return punts? I never quite understood why we had a different KR/PR. Also, look for Hardy to start the year on the PUP. Evans-Coles-Reed-Johnson-Parrish-Jenkins to start out, with Hardy returning and Jenkins getting cut.
  18. I think that in the uncapped year, veterans can't receive more than a 25% raise.
  19. Oh crap! We don't have a starting center and opening day is THIS SUNDAY!
  20. You complain that the Bills can't sign players, and list as an example a player who's currently on his way to Buffalo?
  21. Saturday re-signed with the Colts. It's disappointing but there's not much you can do. Jason Brown landed in St. Louis with a huge offer and decided not to leave. And honestly I'm not convinced Coles would be a terrible signing. He's younger than Housh, and put up bigger career numbers without the advantages of Carson Palmer and Chad Ocho Cinco.
