  1. What I want to know is why the Bills seem uninterested in every free agent besides Coles, Hangartener, Fitzpatrick, and Simmons.
  2. Yeah, I think the key is that we have one bona fide, excellent defensive tackle in Stroud. And with Royal, Dockery, and Preston gone, the most hated player on the team plays defensive end. Thus the pressure to replace Kelsay.
  3. In a 'if you can't beat'em, join'em' response to the Lynch fiasco?
  4. I'd be happy with an upgrade at either - I was really hoping we'd bring in Jovan Haye, but it was not to be - he signed with Tennessee.
  5. Yeah, I didn't quote the Norwood part because it was a joke. I think the 'sick' part was more earnest.
  6. Lindell probably was. Moorman probably wasn't, as he wasn't a pro player when he came over, so I think he may have been under someone else's purview.
  7. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-6-10/...-the-Bills.html
  8. When did Guy come aboard? Since 2001, I'd say we've had a few hits: Larry Centers, Langston Walker, Sam Adams, London Fletcher, Takeo Spikes, Lawyer Milloy, and Troy Vincent. Anyone I'm missing? That's about one every year, maybe a little less. And only one since Donahoe got fired.
  9. There is, remarkably, a happy medium between the Bills and the Redskins. The fanbase isn't demanding Haynesworth or bust, we're looking for a handful of quality moves and a sense that the team is going somewhere. At the very least, if the strategy is to build through the draft, they have to be ready to retain players like Greer or Crowell. They may yet, sure, but it's clear that Greer at least isn't eager to stay in town.
  10. Say hello to your new #2 WR: Josh Reed! He's got #1 heart with #3 talent.
  11. This is the slowest-moving sell off in the history of capitalism. People have been saying this about Ralph for 30 years. He's not selling the team.
  12. No word yet.
  13. The Chiefs have gone dark. Don't expect any real answers, just a press release saying the trade has been completed for undisclosed draft pick(s).
  14. Miami got a 2009 2nd for him. Another solid move by the honchos in DC, another 2nd round pick burned without a playoff season to show for it.
  15. The Bills seem to have slowed to a stop as they wait for Coles to make up his mind. Maybe they're still negotiating with Simmons, Florence, and Winborn, but it seems like activity has really dried up. That said, the entire league seems to have really quieted down do a crawl. Has the entire league shut down with the snowstorm?
  16. There's a reasonable amount of solid FA talent at guard. Sign one to start, draft one to start down the line.
  17. I like his idea of a permanent farm system for offensive linemen - that you really have enough starters and enough injury risk and enough guys leaving that you need to invest in it every year - at minimum, a 3rd-5th round pick, while grabbing any late-round flyers or top-round 'planet' guys that come your way.
  18. Steve Johnson may well be a great wideout. I really hope he is, and he's shown signs of life. But he's not yet proven himself to be a number 2, and bringing in Coles will give him some time work underneath before moving into the starting lineup. And while Keenan McCardell has 0 catches in his first year in the league, so did Chad Johnson 28, and so on, remember that R. Jay Soward, Troy Edwards, and Peter Warrick also all had disappointing first seasons. It means don't give up on Hardy, it doesn't mean assume that Hardy will be a star.
  19. Thanks for the update Gordon. What's the mood like down there?
  20. Doh. Well, I think we have at least a good a shot as they do.
  21. Let's trade Peters to the Patriots for Sammy Morris. It'll save us a lot of time on Sundays this fall.
  22. Hey Tim - would ESPN let you host a chat here?
  23. There's no reason we can't do both. I'd target Freddie Keaho (sp) over June, but I'd take either over Ellison, though I'd like to keep Keith around for depth.
  24. Nobody seems to be knocking down Crowell's door to offer him a big-time contract, anyway.
