  1. Also, at $1.5M, Smith isn't being brought in to take over the team and be a starter, he's being brought in to be a depth guy who can play in some heavy formations.
  2. Last I heard, he was Jerry Rice. And Fred Jackson is Emmitt Smith.
  3. It's been a winter of strange reportings - Bus Cook may or may not have been in town, Marshawn Lynh may or may not have bought Jim Kelly's house...
  4. Can I just take this moment to thank SDS for not indulging in the volumes of crap you see on each post on the Denver board? Never mind the content, but those freaking graphics in everyone's sig.
  5. If Trent could survive people thinking he might be worse than JP Losman, he can survive people wanting Jay Cutler.
  6. I remember Levy saying that if they went QB at #8, it would have been Cutler and not Leinart. Otherwise, I can't find anything.
  7. I wonder what they're waiting for to release him. It doesn't seem like the kind of situation that would solicit trade offers.
  8. If we get equal value in return, by definition, isn't that neither positive nor negative?
  9. the absolute bottom line on TO is that there is nothing to lose. We've been awful for ten years - what's the worst thing that TO could do in one? As long as he doesn't murder Ralph Wilson, I think we'll survive.
  10. The NFL hasn't had any serious plans for expansion or re-alignment lately, right? That's what's caused scheduling shakeups before. The current system is very logical - I can't see what they could do to improve it. I guess the one wildcard is expanding the schedule to 17 (neutral site) or 18 games. Though even that would probably lead to us playing all the same teams, plus two. I'd expect the other two would be intraconference games - instead of only playing the team that matched your finish (4th vs. 4th) you'd play two (4th vs. 3rd and 4th, or maybe 1st and 4th).
  11. So, would Jauron vs. Wade be the worst coaching matchup in the history of the Super Bowl?
  12. Were there any good QBs being measured at this point besides Edwards? Were Brady Quinn or JaMarcus Russell in either of these groups?
  13. I guess if it's fake, then somebody probably photoshopped a picture of Hardy's locker. But who knows?
  14. What a bust. But even with him, why wasn't Jacksonville a player for Housh or TO or Coles?
  15. He then invests his money in a massive waterfront renewal program that brings new life into downtown Buffalo, prompting even Willis McGahee, recently signed by the Los Angeles Jaguars, to demand a trade to Buffalo. Owens and Kelly announce their purchase of the Buffalo Bills from Ralph Wilson, and sign a 99-year lease with Erie County.
  16. That's true, though - any TO hater who expected him to get his comeuppance got to see him greeted with a city-wide celebration and a raise. Heh..heh...suck on it, Cowboys fans.
  17. Yeah, but it was all worth it when he hit overtime.
  18. And remember, Buffalo was only a hair behind the Jets last season anyway - take away the Losman fumble, and both teams were 8-8. They've been suffering from some seriously bad drafting. Looking over their first selections: 2008: Vernon Gholston. So far, a megabust, though Ryan could revive him 2007: Darrelle Revis is much better, I can't knock them here. 2006: D'Brickashaw Ferguson was a good choice at the time, but has struggled at times to adapt to the pro game. 2005: No first round pick, selected Mike Nugent first at #47. Off the team. 2004: Jonathan Vilma is off the team. 2003: DeWayne Robertson is long gone. That's a lot of whiffs - and that '03-'05 chunk is where their real veteran stars should be coming from.
  19. I'm amazed Detroit is always spared the kind of crap Buffalo gets - maybe the team is just so terrifyingly bad, it seems like piling on at this point. But really, who cares? When the team is a winner, all the negative press becomes a badge of honor. When it's crummy, it's just crummy.
  20. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/08/...-to-acquistion/ Marv is more surprised than anything else, and doesn't give a specific opinion, but Thurman Thomas is on board: I hope Thurman, Kelly, etc. give him a call and welcome him to the franchise.
  21. I think Ryan's big problem is that he has a crummy GM instead of Ozzie Newsome. While he can live off Ravens' acquistions he'll be okay, but if I'm not confident that franchise can build a team on its own.
  22. If the Bills had signed Coles, the Jets really would have been just passing out playmakers to division rivals for nothing.
  23. Ralph's not too cheap to win, I don't believe that. But the fact remains that the Bills have whiffed on most major acquisitions except for Walker and Stroud. We'll see how it goes with Owens now, but I'm glad Ralph is at least swinging.
  24. We've got a very good medical staff. If they say okay, I trust them.
