  1. If we're wearing throwbacks, does that mean the Patriots will start the season in their classics? http://foxboropatriots.files.wordpress.com...w=320&h=323
  2. It's not a game if you know the ratings ahead of time. The Bills will learn how good their rookies are like every other team: by signing them to a contract.
  3. I think we should sign Favre AND Vick AND Pacman Jones. Ralph could triple the ticket prices and fill the stadium with ESPN reporters alone. Cash out as much as possible: rush together a Hard Knocks: Buffalo, give the other guys reality shows, the whole deal. The team will be full of coachkillers, and Jauron is toast. When that blows over, we can spend the money on Cowher in 2010 and get down to business.
  4. He got destroyed for having a really good voice. It was funny, but like, if that's what you get called out for on national TV, you've lived well.
  5. Brian Griese just got cut too, right? He seems like the archetype for a backup QB. If you'd like Jeff George, we could also look at a few of his draft classmates: Neil O'Donnell, Scott Mitchell, Emmitt Smith, and Carwell Gardener. We need an FB, right? Junior Seau and Matt Stover are the last active players from that class, if they are in fact active.
  6. If anyone likes No Reservations, Tony Bourdain features Buffalo on the show tonight. It ran at 10, but it's re-running on the Travel Channel right now, and the Buffalo section should be on at about 11:40. Good stuff, featuring Ulrich's Tavern and Schwabl's.
  7. Yeah, well, if you could sell $10 million of jerseys, I'm sure they'd overlook your faults as well. It's the NFL, and the bottom line is paying the bills. That's why really, I think this was a job for the criminal justice system and not Goodell. Unless the five-game suspension is a backdoor to suspending him for the season, since no team wants a potential starting QB to miss Septemeber.
  8. I can't be the only one snickering at that, can I?
  9. Pitta has a good point. For all we know, the ghosts of the aforementioned Hitler and Pol Pot could have taken his family hostage and demanded that he run a dogfighting ring. Vick didn't get pissed off and throw a punch in a bar. He didn't lose track of himself and drive home drunk. He didn't make it rain at a strip club and lose control of the results. He ran a dogfighting ring over the long term, and while he has shown some contrition publicly, he hasn't reported any extenuating circumstances that would lead him to run a freaking dogfighting ring (which are extremely difficult to imagine). He's a malicious bastard and I think if anything, the criminal justice system was too easy on him
  10. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/turd-...police-blotter/ That could help.
  11. Maybe they'll give us Willis back! Sign Henry once he gets out of jail, and we can have the whole band back together.
  12. Following all the links, I think Buffalo may not only be creating one monster: George Wilson: Media Enemy.
  13. Just this once, during week 10, I'd like to be thinking 'man, only six weeks left until the REAL show starts'
  14. A PETA backlash would only be good for the team, and the distraction would be minor. The reason we shouldn't sign Vick is because we have a better QB on the roster than a guy who hasn't played a down in years with a lifetime 75 QB rating. When we want to run the ball, we have three running backs to do that.
  15. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/...ting-a-monster/ Evidently, that's what we're in for. This may be the single greatest overstatement of the season.
  16. Is Maybin going to be affected more by #10 or #12? It seems that 12 is more important - the one thing Maybin can't do (or his agent can't let happen, rather) is for him to take less money than the guy picked after him. I guess it's the Bills who want to be sure they don't break the ceiling, but #10 is their problem, #12 is Maybin's.
  17. 50 days? Ugh, that sounds so far off still. I hadn't added it up.
  18. Ahh, nerts. That's a real blow to our depth - who's the backup ILB now?
  19. I'll say this - at least we're not sitting here like chumps waiting to see if Brett Favre will come start for us.
  20. We open camp early in a slow year. I'm not worried we're screwing it up, but it is frustrating. I don't like it, but it's just a bad position. But hey, we'll get the guys into camp in time to have as much camp as the rest of the league not playing in the HOF game.
  21. Camp in toronto sounds like a good idea to me - and heck, why not both preseason games? Make it a whole thing? And in any case: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999. Take your pick on what's been causing our malaise. Establishment of the Euro? More than 6 billion people on the planet? I'm guessing it's this: 1979-1999 saw 12 playoff appearances for the Bills. Four super bowl appearances, and a handful of Hall of Famers. All while Pluto was closer to the sun than Neptune. Since then? Bupkis. Before...one playoff title since the merger. Let's face it - we won't make another playoff run until 2231when Pluto once again comes inside the orbit of Neptune.
  22. Honestly, it's pretty hilarious. Of all the offseason news, I'd rather hear about a player complaining about his Madden rating than any more of this Roethlisberger junk.
  23. Yeah, reading everything over, it sounds like this is going to be a brief annoyance and not a crisis. Nobody's doing anything unusual, it's just the usual logjams in the system are conflicting with our early camp start. As long as Maybin and Wood are in the first 20 or so first rounders to sign, I'll be happy. Now, with at least one 2nd rounder having signed, I think it's time to do the job with Levitre and Byrd.
  24. I got 8. How about you?
  25. 99% of the problem is a crap system. For what it's worth, our opponents in the HOF game also haven't signed their first rounder. Basically, I'd say it's not really a problem until the last team's training camp opens. Then we can talk.
