  1. Nobody has ever used that quote on the Internet without someone taking the bait. That's why it's hilarious.
  2. I'd say that Hollis Thomas and Grady Jackson are the only remaining UFAs with the heft to play NT. They're both old men and I'm not sure if either actually have NT experience. Any RFAs out there worth looking at cost at least a #2, which is more than I want to pay for that bunch. I think we're looking to the draft for NT.
  3. If the scouts think that Clausen is the kind of quarterback who will likely be the kind of guy who can run a pro team for a decade, and compete with playoff QBs, then they should take him. Honestly, I have no reason to think one way or another - I have no good feeling on evaluating college QBs.
  4. I guess we weren't ready to outbid them. I'm not sure he's worth more than that. http://twitter.com/JasonLaCanfora/status/10441258205
  5. The Bills are too far away to bother with TO this year. I think some team will give him a good chance to play this year, but it shouldn't be us. He's not a mentor type, and there's really no other reason to keep a WR in his late 30s around for another year.
  6. One morning, as Bills Nation was waking up from anxious dreams, we discovered that our team had been changed into a giant cockroach.
  7. We're far enough away now that I'd rather we took the time to develop players that fit the system rather than trying to shoehorn anyone in. I mean, I'd really rather that we decided to build a system around the talent instead, but what can you do?
  8. Those basically Ryan Denney's numbers. He's going to need to be bigger than his stats if he's going to be an upgrade.
  9. Pssh - you expect the Bills to keep the fans informed? They keep a powerful radio silence on all their doings, until they've been reported by leaks from player/coach agents. I don't know if it's strategy or indifference, but they really keep things quiet.
  10. so roughly money on par with Green. I guess it's reasonable that we need a tackle more than a guard, but man, we need both.
  11. Oh, I understand what you're saying. I'm mostly just asking for predictive reasons: given what we know about how teams tend to draft, should we expect the Bills to make this move?
  12. The Billls must be focusing on an NT in the top two rounds of the draft. Is #9 too high for Dan Williams?
  13. Given how far away we are, and how soft the UFA market is this year, I agree that the Bills have no realistic chance to compete in 2010. Is the front office quietly conceding that the team will suck this year?
  14. How much Vitamin D did the Saints and Colts get during the playoffs? You might have nice weather inside, but not much sunshine gets through the dome - and I'm guessing neither team practices outside.
  15. 2/17. Yeah, I know he won, but unless we can get Roscoe Parrish to play for all 16 opponents, that doesn't get us there. Anderson completed under 50% of his passes in 5 of 8 games last year. Even ol' Trentative managed to stay at or above 50 in all his starts. I'm not interested.
  16. So, if Schobel does retire, we need to acquire a starting DE, WR, and RT along with a slot WR, to just get back up to last year's talent level, right?
  17. Maybe we can just switch back to the Tampa 2 when it turns out we make no personnel changes on defense.
  18. I'll never disapprove of an interview, visit, or scouting report, no matter the player or the position. That said, even a terrific RB would be awfully tough to justify given the holes on this roster.
  19. Yeah, you don't need to 'grow up' because of multiple claims of sexual assault. You need to grow up if you get too hungover to make it to practice, or can't take criticism from coaches. Sexual assault = prison.
  20. "Too crappy to win the Super Bowl" is still way better than anything we've got.
  21. It woudn't be my top choice, but it's nice to see some signs of life.
  22. So at best, a Josh Reed replacement who's a little older than Josh Reed?
  23. Jeff Garcia has had a fine career and I wish him the best. That includes not making him scramble behind an offensive line that features no tackles and a guard with only one good leg. Let Trent/Fitz take that punishment as we rebuild the rest of the team this year, and find someone who can give us a few good years after that.
  24. Is there any reason that the Bills can't sign Gaither to a contract two hours after they trade the #9 pick to New Orleans for #32 and, well, anything else?
