  1. As long as there are 1-2 teams in worse shape with their cities than we are, I'm a happy guy. That said, the Vikings are a grand old franchise, and I'd really like them to stick around up there. AND, if they build a new stadium, that sucker really needs to be outside. A playoff home game in Minneapolis would be epic. At the Metrodome, it's just another NFC playoff game.
  2. I believe that any RFAs are no longer eligible for offer sheets. You can trade for them, still.
  3. Drew Brees has become the excuse for keeping every never-was QB on the roster three years too long, just like Bill Belichick is the excuse for hiring one has-been coach after another.
  4. It's funny most grades go down and not up. It seems like a lot of mock drafters get excited about too many prospects, and rarely really anticipate busts.
  5. Remember that he is not only an underachieving sack of crap, he's an underacheiving sack of crap with a net worth somewhere in the $40M range. I'm not sure he's going to get pumped for the chance to turn $800k/year into a steady $2M/year backup job.
  6. I'd call up Alan Faneca. I'd ask him if he remembers his old teammate Kris Jenkins. I'd ask him if he wants to punch Kris in the mouth all day for two sundays a year. If he says yes, I'd offer a contract.
  7. Cockblockers, Offensive Loin, and the Unit are my favorite ones so far. I wonder what the guys themselves will come up with in camp this summer.
  8. I still can't believe that Russell appears to be the worst QB in the league and yet, was a #1 pick. I mean, BAD, sure. He could easily have been a huge bust and still be on par with the Ryan Fitzpatricks and Patrick Ramseys of the world. But he seems like a guy who would be unlikely to make the Las Vegas Locomotives. Or the Columbus Destroyers.
  9. That sounds like a sensible trade.
  10. As much as it's about Ralph selling tickets, it's also about Buddy selling Ralph. If he drafts a left tackle and the Lynch and Jackson have great seasons Ralph's not going to notice much except that Levy's guys are getting the job done.. If the Bills best offensive performance comes from Buddy's guy, Ralph will trust Buddy more. It'll say "Look, the guys I bring in take care of business. Let me clear out the rest of the roster and you pay the replacements, and we'll be in the playoffs."
  11. Unless you want the shell of Lauverneaus Coles or Terrell Owens, it's slim pickins at WR right now.
  12. Interesting that the minuses outweigh the plusses - I guess that makes sense because it would only break even if only the top 255 players are selected. Good numbers.
  13. Seattle wasn't offering anything more than a 5th. Lynch definitely has at least that much value for us in 2010.
  14. Man, Lovie Smith never gets enough credit for being the first black coach to lose a super bowl. And it's never happened since!
  15. CORNERBACK? THIS IS BS!! Oh wait, UDFA? Never mind. I thought it was the first round for a moment there.
  16. Now that it's all over, this was a fine draft. We'll see how it shows on the field, but I think they got great value in two day-3 linemen, and added a lot of big uglies on the defensive side. I know we have at least two defensive linemen, and then a pair of DL/LB hybrids. That's some muscle. Top it off with one of each offensive skill-position players, all three having high upside. Spiller's "high upside" could reach top level status. I like it. I hope Brown makes the team, though I wouldn't surprised to see him end up on IR before week 1 and take a pro red shirt season.
  17. Incest tackle! Incest tackle! Incest tackle!
  18. Victory! Best post yet.
  19. Jason Campbell, not Bruce.
  20. Levitre is the only thing that stands between Wang and Wood. If we move him to center.
  21. Out of the University of Azkaban?
  22. Now our second round picks need to be among the top three at their position before we consider them successful?
  23. This guy? Seems undersized:
  24. I'm really out of my depth at this point, but just to throw some names up on the Wall and see what sticks. In no major order: (OTs) 1.) Bruce Campbell 2.) Selvish Capers 3.) Adam Ulatonski 4.) Jason Fox 5.) Tony Washington QBs 1.) Dan LeFevour 2.) Tony Pike 3.) John Skelton LBs 1.) Eric Norwood 2.) Roderick Muckelroy Anyone else you're looking at?
  25. It's a defense that might even stop the run and force turnovers for our mediocre offense. But we'll be able to control the ball on offense, so you never know.
