  1. Hey, all we know about Bledsoe lately (2001) is that he can fill in in the second half of some game and win it for his team. Its why we traded for him, remember? Come to think of it, I think we based the RoJo trade on a similar set of experience.
  2. Buffalo and Cleveland, my two favorite sports cities, have no titles between six teams (counting the Braves) since 1965. Ouch.
  3. Yep. This is the absolute low point in the history of the New York Yankees. Badly losing a championship series, watching their rivals hoist the trophy, and going home. And 4 years removed from a title Look out Cleveland, here comes New York - the most suffering fans.
  4. pastrami, cole slaw, provolone and russian on rye...
  5. Don't take that from us. The biggest chokers in sports history remain, and shall forever be, the 1992 Houston Oilers.
  6. The Red Sox had a "Miracle on Ice" postseason in this sense - the magic was the win over the "Evil Empire" (So to speak, I wouldn't personally call the Yankees such, exactly) was actually in the semi-final, but the final was so blase nobody will remember it. I can imagine explaining to my son someday that the Yankees and the Red Sox didn't actually met in the World Series in 2004 - they didn't move the Yankees to the National League until 2009 in exchange for the San Francisco Giants. (may the concept of radical realignment remain in its grave)
  7. This is very clearly Tom Donahoe's team right now. Other than Eric Moulds and Pat Williams, every one of these guys got their job from Tom Donahoe. His decisions on players, his on coaches. Anything that's Mularkey's fault, Bledsoe's fault, Henry's fault, the O-line's fault, or even Brian Moorman's fault, is Donahoe's fault. Their successes, of course, are his too - he'll get full credit when we have one or two of those. It's the bottom line. If it's not the refs, it's the team. And that team has one man's sig on it.
  8. If you can't do 1st and 6, you probably won't get 4th and 3.
  9. Let's see. Jay Fielder is really, really bad. You can't understate that one. Boller too - although he still might break out, he hasn't played much. I think there's hope for McCown too. What about Brad Johnson - he's been pretty awful and lost his job (does that still count?) Maybe Vinnie? I can't imagine him being any different from the Drewser.
  10. nice, Pete
  11. Drew Bledsoe has absolutely no trade value. Maybe, MAYBE a conditional 7th, but I'd guess his salary right now is a bigger imposition than his quarterback play. Best we could hope for is trading him and the 33rd pick for the 32nd pick and get a first rounder that way - he pickes up the pay difference between a 1st and 2nd rounder. Travis is worth at best, a late 1st day pick. We don't have talent to get value for a 1st round pick - Spikes, maybe, but I'd rather have him than some punk rookie. I say, if anything, we take our 33rd pick and trade down a few times, trying to get some depth. But that's for April.
  12. Yeah, I'm glad we don't have a past-his-prime receiver on this team like TO. He sucks. He averages almost 100 yards per game, with six touchdowns. I don't think our offense has any more than that right now.
  13. The Cowboys have a starting QB right now that's old and immobile, and he's putting up better numbers than Drew. Also, they have Drew Henson and the top overall pick in the 2005 draft - which I'm sure couldn't come up with anyone better to put in at tailback than Travis Henry.
  14. I would be very skeptical about even recieving a third round pick for Travis Henry right now. He's shown nothing, and would be a free agent in another year anyway, if you just want to wait and see. How's the 2005 RB crop? I can't imagine there aren't better ones to be had in the first, second, or third round.
  15. Look more carefully guys....Jack...Black...
  16. It's not the Bills the Yankees would grab "Sports Biggest Chokers" hat from, it's the Houston Oilers. The Bills never collapsed or choked, they got beat. It sucked, but they got beat. 3-0 in a baseball series might come close to say, 35-3 in a football game.
  17. I remember when I tried sarcasm after week 1. I tried really, really hard to make it blatant, no dice. I think we need a tradition for what to do when someone COMPLETELY misses a joke.
  18. I'm just not convinced we can get anything approaching value for Travis Henry right now. He hasn't looked good this year, and I don't want to give him up for a backup guard or a second-day pick. Who's in the hunt without an RB that would be willing to try to take him now?
  19. Pig Prather
  20. Selling tickets? Are there any left to sell?
  21. They said 1:00 - it's 1:17. I think it's odd that they gave him that deadline - be traded by 1? There's no deadline there, is there?
  22. What's amazing is that Flutie and Bledsoe have the same number of rushes. Half the games for Flutie, but who would think he only runs twice as often?
  23. Wide Right was the most painful play in Bills history, but missing a 48-yard field goal isn't that high on the list of Blown Plays. Your best kickers aren't more than 50-50 on that kick. We shoulda been closer. Ronnie Harmon, also, was just a screw-up by one guy. It was a crucial play, but he's not the first or last guy to drop a touchdown pass. Marcus Robinson did it this weekend for example. He just happened to make up for it the next play. I mean, I've dropped TD passes in pickup games too. It happens. Which brings us to this one and Homerun Throwback. MCM was still a pretty impressive bit of playcalling, as painful as that is, and, of course, illegal anyway. Which brings us to last Sunday. FUBAR. What can I say?
  24. I agree. Also, I noticed that the Colts need a LDE to complement Freeney. How about Denney for their #1? And while we're wheelin' and dealin', Thomas Jones could really use a lead blocker - I think Damien Shelton could fetch a #1. And finally, did you see Doug Brien shank that one figgie? Rian Lindell for their #1 - we'll just let Moorman handle it.
