  1. The question is - will the Church of Scientology front some cash for the Bills when Ralph dies? If they promise to keep the team in Buffalo, I think we could work out an arrangement for some downtown real estate.
  2. The trade market in the NFL is so poorly established, things can bounce really quickly. I mean, if Corey Dillon is a #2, then Henry is a #4. If Peerless Price is a #1, then Henry is a top-5 pick. If Lamar Gordon is a #3, Henry is mid-20s first round. And so on.
  3. If Peerless will take true 3rd WR money (1M per year, or so), I think it wouldn't be a terrible idea. He'd be a Az Hakim style 3rd wideout, moving Moulds into the slot in 3-wide packages. But then we see less of Fast Freddie and Aiken, or a 2nd-day pickup. So it's not worth THAT much
  4. The sentiment is funny, but man, that's the worst photoshop job EVER
  5. Is Shane definitely going to retire? It wouldn't be a bad job for him to back up JP for a year - he could well see some real playing time.
  6. Hey, I think there's something to be said for Seahawks-Rams. I mean, if it was ANY two other teams in the NFL, that'd've been a classic. But ignore the names on the jerseys and the faces on the sideline, and it was a great game.
  7. Going 15-1 with a perfect kicker, then having him honk one in overtime in the NFC championship game is, by definition, the greatest choke that ever happened. It'd be like having a QB that's never lost in the NFL, then having him throw a whole bunch of inter...well, it'd be pretty bad.
  8. I think it's gotta be really, really, really hard to fire a coach after a 15-1 season. But I think he's getting into Wayne Fontes territory - just good enough until one season he's not. That's not what Dan Rooney says though - he wants another 20 years. I wouldn't want to hear that about my coach if I lived anywhere besides Boston.
  9. He doesn't suck worse than, say, Peyton Manning
  10. This sounds like a Super Bowl that deserves a whole lot of mind-altering substances beforehand. It'd make it at least a little more fun - and the fireworks will look cool.
  11. Is there any other reason to think this was anything other than a slip of the tongue? I mean, Trent Lott had a history of racially-questionable statements an apperances. This guy just tripped over himself and lost his job.
  12. Well, I'd imagine that they'll pick up UB's wide receiver's coach, and put Ray Bentley in at DC and then win again. !@#$'em.
  13. Offensive Coordinator, '04 Patriots: Charlie Weis Offensive Coordinator, '92 Oilers: Kevin Gilbride
  14. I think I'd take Shaud Williams over Eddie George. The guy got 3 yards a carry...in his prime. I don't think there's a roster spot in this league with his name on it right now unless he wants to make the minimum and play special teams.
  15. I'd give the Eagles 10 points and take the bet. No way this one gets close.
  16. The argument was never that 1st round QBs suck, or are destined to be losers. It's just that they're not proven to be better than QBs who are drafted later, and can turn into big busts just as easily. If QB is the most important position, and first rounders are accurate, every good team should have one, right? But then there are the 2001 and 2003 Patriots, the 2003 Panthers, the 2002 Raiders and Buccaneers, the 1999 and 2001 Rams, the 2000 Ravens and Giants, the 1998 Falcons...and so on. It IS interesting that they're all first rounders this year (save only Brady, now), but it's not proof of anything nor does it lay to rest anything. There's a Leaf for every Manning, you know.
  17. I just really don't have an interest in a top-5 pick this year. We don't need a QB, and I don't think there's much value except for running back there. We need a lot more roleplayers and depth than we need a new super-star: Guard, Tight End, Nickelback, slot receiver. Unless Miami's top pick turns into a 2006 #1 and a bucket of 2nd-day 2005ers, I'm not too enthused. Miami's 2nd round pick would be the right deal for anyone BESIDES the Dolphins, it's over-value, but I think we could swindle it (3rd rounder for Lamar Gordon, 1st for Price)
  18. one awkward hit, and our playoff hopes can only be thwarted by Quincy Caaaaaaaaahrter
  19. Well, yes, the best way to develop a young QB is to play him. But it's not the best way to get into the playoffs, which is why Peyton/Eli Manning managed to start their careers by going 3-19. Or why Jim Kelly's first NFL season was 4-12. So, if the best way to develop JP is to play him, I guess we have to have a four touchdown lead by the fourth quarter. Every week. I'm in.
  20. But where else would you rather be, than RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!
  21. Honestly, I can't hate the Steelers - they're my favorite team after the Bills. The Steelers fans I know (not too many, they might be aberrations) tend to like the Bills when the Steelers are down, and seem like the same kind of fans you usually see at the Ralph, just in different colors. Nothing like the M!@#$s, or those rogue Cowboys fans in the mid-90s. The Giants, however, may have the worst fans outside of Arizona. They're a really uninterested bunch, showing up just long enough to B word about Manning before going away again and forgetting their team's record.
  22. Maybe the league should slip in and pay Ray what he's looking for from the NHLPA. That'd cut down their influence on the players a bit, I think.
  23. Woot! member number 3!
  24. Anchor Steam had a great winter lager I tried - dark, full, just a little bitter. I only had one, so memory is a little fuzzy.
